LOL / KDK + reflections

What a good way to promote Water Globes @ Facebook..

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

The new year is starting in just a few days time.. I better say all the bad things i wanna say abt 2008 (if i am able to find them inside my brain) before 2009 comes..

BTW I read a book by Lilian Too, a famous person who does Fengshui, and it states that for the 'Water Rooster', it will be quite a good year ahead. So I don't wanna disrupt that with bad things to say..

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

This holidays has been one of my most meaningful so far:
- Going to BSC, which is the greatest experience of the lifetime: meeting new people, knowing new places

- Noel concert, which helped me get back my embouchure after 6 weeks not practicing

- Going to Genting (yes, it's my first time there), which let me realise the importance of bringing a book to every theme park

- reading 'Tuesdays with Morrie', a truly enlightening book on life's lessons

- going to the sec 4 farewell, which is my first time at sakae.. yummylicious!

- watching PhilYouth's Concert and Nakamura Gakuen Girls' Symphonic Band Concert‏ (GREAT!!)

- waking up late during Christmas, play with family + dog until afternoon, and attending Christmas dinner (my mouth waters when I think of that)

- etc..

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

There are many things which happened in the holidays. There is this peron who seems to like niao-ing Malaysian Chinese's Chinese.. In our BSC batch she did, and in the next batch she did too..

"you all Malaysian's hor, Chinese very bad, so full of the malay accent, not nice". But I didnt say anything much cos I didn't really seem to find something suitable to say from my mind..

Yes, what if we speak 'not-nice' Chinese? That's our comfortable way of speaking, like the chinese variant of YOUR singlish (since you are so proud of it). At least we still can speak with the Standard pronunciations, unlike your kind which can’t speak good, and speak like you are going no where.

The point is, don’t even talk bad on others when you don’t even have the qualifications. Polish your mouth (n learn more vocabulary).

Your mouth can create friends as well as enemies. It is your bad mouth which makes you have so much enemies, such that even some of those who admire you have started not liking you.. I know you are a woman of great popularity, but I am sure you wouldn’t want to be remembered by lots as a TYRANT!

But of course you have your reason. An outsider’s understanding will be: effective communication. Don’t just keep fighting for your ‘rights’; give chances to others as well. And also learn to stop talking, cos others have their reason for their actions too. If others are in the wrong, you may not be right in bad-talking behing their backs. If anybody is offended by my thoughts here, I am sorry, but this is just my personal opinion

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Cheers for the new year ahead!

A week full of thoughts

The BSC Workshop has clearly let us have a meaningful insight to Beijing, and we should really thank the teachers for giving us there oppurtunities. The trip would not be successful if you dont show appreciation for what is there, and get to know about the culture there.

The trip, to me, is about knowing what they have that you dont have (more of the culture aspect), as well as knowing what we have that they dont have, and be grateful about that. However what I see in the classrooms are ethnocentric and spoilt twerts who dont realise that how lucky they are..

Exerpts from 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing_Airport'

"Terminal 3 - if considered an airport on its own - would be the largest airport in the world in land size and one of the world's largest in capacity and land size (approximately 986,000 square meters). It is larger than London Heathrow Airport's 5 terminals combined with another 17% to spare."

"One of Terminal 3's highlights is the US$240 million luggage-transfer system. The luggage system is equipped with yellow carts, each of which has a code, matching the bar code on every piece of luggage loaded on it, allowing easy and accurate tracking. More than 200 cameras will be used to monitor activities in the luggage area.

The luggage system can handle 19,200 pieces of luggage per hour. After luggage is checked in at any one of the 292 counters at Terminal 3C, they can be transferred at a speed of ten metres per second. Even for international routes, luggage can travel from T3C to T3E in five minutes. Arriving passengers should be able to begin retrieving their luggage within 4.5 minutes after airplanes are unloaded."

I think I will wear specs sooner or later..

I was quite slack these few days, as its's a whole 6-day break between the test i just took and will take..

Was watching "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" on YouTube and gawd it's crazy!! All the madness and humiliation.. Especially when the MC niao the Americans by talking Jap to the Jap crowd, and the Americans dunno what he's talking about.. And how the crowd jeered together at the participants and laugh like hell at their flaws...

YouTube was my source of entertainment these days with other shows such as MadTV, Laputa, etc. For MadTV I would like to recommend "inside looking out", a show featuring black-white couples who sing a lot. It's quite very nice!!

*Cheers!

Rain, rain, come again, go away during the day

Its almost 12 midnight, and the rain has stopped..

i like rain during nights cos there will be free air-con

but not during the day cos it will make you all wet, like your face after a maths exam :/
jz kidding

halfway thru the hma paper, the wind suddenly blew and the rain came, providing those in kkh (at least the ones on the righter rows) additional wind to the fans

and while that happens, ~35 mins after commencement of hma paper, He stapled his answers together, while I frantically pull out my hair in an attempt to activate brain cells..

i almost had frozen ears..

a lot of thoughts...

interested in getting attention?
i got a lot on wednesday...

was doing yue du li jie in the library and here comes a group of people from china (i guess they are parents of the prc scholars)
then, they saw me doing the yue du li jie

snap snap snap and more than 10 cameras keep flashing away at my yue du li jie
and more than 20 people stood behind me and took more than 5 group photos
then have to put up a forced smile

and

why do people think that since people from china = chinese, people from england = english, therefore people from malaysia = malays?
and jz because there is majority malays in malaysia does not mean that malaysia does not sell pork!!

anyway i pretended reading ihc when the other 'batch' of china people came...

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

got exempted from maths and chinese...
wasn't expecting maths.. physics instead
cos my bro say my phy ca is 80.. but i got 2 tests wif a2, one jz received back today..

anyway, i dont understand why so many people dont like physics..
chuasy is a vr good teacher actually cos u actually learn a lot from her

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

the australians in smtp1 irritated chuasy today..
heard from han loong that the australians from smtp2 oso irritated angsh
and shijie told me how diligent chinese students are in university lectures. them busy scribbling notes while the others would prefer listening to mp3

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

bsc will be in same room as gid
unfair lor, the string orch can ask to put their people in oct batch cos they got concert..
actu if we push harder the band ppl can all go oct batch oso.. then can go thailand earlier..

anyway will be under esther cheong in bsc
yay

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

han loong please dont dirty my room. thx

*Cheers! =D

Foon Yew exchange + random thoughts

Speaking chinese with msian-accent during prac.. remeniscence of the psch days..

last year, went to fyhs kulai, but did not manage to see all the faces..
now, dunno why, but somehow can look at all their faces with greater 'detail', in the process seeing a lot of familiar ones..
but cannot remember names..

some faces i can remember from last year's trip,
some faces gives me the impression that i did see them before, like we used to come from the same pri sch band

anyway, i think that quite a number of people from tpt section is from fy4
oso from clarinets, percussion

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

enriching exchange, with fun sectionals and a super zhai tutor
the one who played the 1st tpt in the brass quintet performance in capriccio
with his golden and perfectly smooth trumpet (T.T) and his super nice tone
OMG

and the foon yew-ians have such shiny and scratchless and dentless instruments
which made me so guilty
i used to think that taking care of a new instru is such a tedious chore
until i looked at their tubas
slapp-me-doo

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

and i cnt seem to download wall-E with the boarding sch com
<3 the cute robot

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

meeting mentor tomorrow..
projects and homework..
but i dont have the heart to do it..

..must fa fen tu qiang do the homwork
MUST!!
grrr

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

anyway i know how to practice and warmup good-good liao
must do breathing..

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

starting from term 4,
i will be a better person.

better records of treasurer funds
no late homework
go flag-raising early
better tone
more organized (my table's a mess)

Wierd me..

discovered that daniel kiang (i hope i spell his name correct) reads my blog..
HI!! you read my blog too!

ya and i admit that my previous post about PhilWinds concert, it sounds quite bad..
but i do think that the concert was really great
well i did not use much nice words in that post though...
but there's no underlying meaning.. "unique" in my dictionary means very nice and special =)
am in no place to criticise PhilWinds..

sometimes being too direct makes others think otherwise...

anyway, i love doing technical stuff during pracs (and i mean it)
builds up good tone before the songs
hope that the others can achieve better tone

and i found out that this should be the actual #101 post, although it means nothing..

*Cheers!

Sabbaticals + Band + thoughts

Chemistry of Foooooooood.........

Yum Yum!
Try tasting rainbow-hjellies which have so nice and bright colours

But are made from mixtures of onions, cabbages, SPRITE, lemon juice, baking soda, pandan (this one ok lar, i like pandan)..

Trying to think of something innovative to put on the sign for friday's jam and jelly store
other than free 2-day MCs provided at KC's stall
maybe free hospital care?

meddled with green peas yesterday
cooked them in HCl, NaOH and water
and watch their colour changes

conclusion of the day:
alkaline solutions retain colors of green peas while acidic solutions decolourise green peas
therefore chefs cook vegetables in aqueous ammonia to retain the colour.
LOGICAL FALLACY!!!

Oh and we extracted caffeine crystals from mountain dew and pepsi today
the experiment using lipton tea was a failure.. T.T

Also made 'ink' from lipton tea and green tea
but they are both black-black one
just the lipton tea is brownish black and green tea is greenish-black

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Will be watching LUCE later

and just bought 80 collar pins for the Nanjing people
who seemed to be so despised by the "top 4"
"let's buy them 'passion', the 'fake' ferrero rochere. they may not have seen it wad. nanjing may have ferrero rochere, but nvm la"
dunno what other stuff to buy for them?
hunt later..

just realised that emails are so important in communicating
a program booklet will cost more than 10 emails to be perfect

teacher's day performance cancelled
boo
no more 'bugler's holiday' and 'first love'
yay

practice (the right way) really makes perfect
the pieces during rehearsal later would have been better if not for the 1st trumpet
beat him please

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

have to go beijing on oct 20
so will be celebrating my bday there =\
hope that all goes well

just came back from a meaningful talk on cyber wellness, which were talked by 3 very good speakers who were so interesting and engaging

china won 41 golds as of yesterday when i last checked, and 44 as of now
wow

and i think that csc should be taught to whole school, not just cse

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

plenty of thoughts here..

still got projects to do
english debate to prepare
and biography asgt to hand in
not to forget the whole stack of past year papers..

*Cheers for homework, everyone!

BTW i heard a very interesting analogy from my aunt's friend in Ipoh

Yes, Malaysia is less developed than Singapore
Students in Malaysia are like trees in a forest, while students in Singapore are like potted plants

The trees in a forest are free to grow anywhere and in any way they want, but the potted plants are constantly trimmed by people

That may be a good thing, but how good the potted plant looks in the end depends on how good the person is a trimming

I feel so patriotic

Tempo Primo @ 7th Nite of July

Spent whole lot of an hour plus fixing 12 bars, but still a hell long way from being good and passable

They just can't get clear notes
Well they are NOT even familiar with the notes

Sometimes you have really to be harsh in order to get things done
The only way to know the notes extremely well is to memorise them

But sometimes it is good getting to know what they can or cannot do..

Anyway we were trashed by the other sections during combined brass (w/o tubas)
Mr Leng came in halfway through and took us for brass sectionals

And ooh it's amazing the way he fixed things
And end up sidetracking
Watching Ken Lee -.-
But talking about the Foon Yew people made me feel some guilt,, oops is ..

He commented on the scratched on the VBS, which Jiasheng told me what he guessed that was with Hui Yao.. V**i** B*** S***er
Eugh..
That's so degrading

Grrr I'm MAD

My section just can't keep their mouths shut during sectionals, and sometimes, band practice

They lack A LOT of discipline

I do not wish to punish people, and I always forget to punish people... x.-
Wanted to have them do pumpings but forgot to tell them to do after band prac.. only remembered at the end of the day, after all has left..

I sometimes think that the section got too many people, and sometimes I want to cut them away, to save my breath fixing them...

I do envy other sections with less people.. So much less things to worry about
But irony is that they envy my section having the most number of people

random: wow the trumpets got 5 people leh, own everyone
today, even the clarinets dun have that much people!

Oh come on who says quantity=quality
But too bad reality sees it the other way..

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Anyway, I bought a microfibre cleaning cloth from accent yesterday
$26.75 inclusive of $1.75 tax

I wanted to buy another trumpet handguard, but the only available ones are leather, and though the quality seems to be quite good, it's $24! T.T not enough $

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

It's no good if you ask other people to leave NBC

Hope that they can do well
Sometimes competece do matter over commitment

CDs

I went to Harris in Jusco and bought 2 CDs (or rather i asked my mom to buy them)

One is a Trumpet CD which costs RM9.90
I never heard of any of the songs inside (but some sound familiar)

But it was good
Worth the price

Another CD is orchestral music
Cover is a French Horn inside a nautilus shell
and it costs only RM3.90!

Got Mag7, Excalibur, Apocalypse Now...
All the titles seems so unknown (to me), but they are familiar songs

Very nice, worth the price
The CD costs less Hor Fun

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

And BX cracked the CD casing of

which costs RM80+

see a thin line between the image of the flute and the picture to its right?
That was caused by BX
To a CD casing of such high prestige

*Cheers!
Thanks to Walter for buying for me the trumpet underwear
I haven't started on the 2 lunwen for chinese.. T.T

New Things are REALLY a PRESSURE

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when in P5 my sch bought 4 new trombones

I got to be the one of the first to use them in P6
(they were left untouched for a year)

i took care of them so dearly

i consistently wiped them off all fingerprints, all sweat

and to NOT do so much wiping, i wore gloves while using the trombone

i did this for a whole year

and the instru was in quite a good condition. i dont remember and scratches or dents on them
no blemishes no nothing

and i dunno how are they now

hope that they are in good condition

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Back to now, i seriously wish to take care of the VBS as how i took care of the trombone

But it already has some scrathces (tiny tiny ones and a LONG big one) and a dent (which is more of a chip than a dent)

big t full stop big t

People in primary school would not bang their instru against others' instru

deep sigh*

am implying nothing
dont think too much
although people in sec sch do bang their instrus against others' instru

though not intentionally

don't smile, walter

Experiencing the immense pressure of a VBS...

That was my MSN display name

Well VBS = Vincent Bach Stradivarius

Mr Leng sort of "forced" me into taking the trumpet, which has some pros and cons compared to my previous Yamaha Xeno

Pros
- easier to make a louder, brighter sound
- "perfectly brand new" as leng says

Cons
- have to re-habitualise to the new trumpet
- it's so smooth and shiny that it's super scary
- it's NOT "perfectly brand new"

The trumpet has a good tone and good sound, but I cannot get the best out of it, my incompetence...

Yes, so as Mr Leng says, it is "perfectly brand new", but there are blemishes on the trumpet already.. between the valves, the tuning slide... And oh, I can't get out the tuning slide. It's stuck.

Following that, we have to be responsible for our own instrus and as it was recorded "perfectly brand new", any scratches or dents or anything that should not be there would cost the user some serious $$$.

While rubbing off fingerprints and sweat (i have sweaty palms) off the trumpet, to maintain its "mirror-like surface" i think i SCRATCHED IT! (who says that cloth would not scratch)

Furthermore, wiping off those body fluids do not seem to work... The paper-cloth seemed to only smear them over the surface...

At the 3rd day of the camp, i found a dent on the tuning slide of the 3rd valve. And i do not know when did that happen..

Boohoohoo and I woke up halfway in my sleep (1+am), and cannot fall back asleep, as my mind was full of Mr Leng haunting me, asking me to take responsibility of the damages, which were unintentional...

It is really very painful using a new instrument, especially in this transition period of the old band culture and new band culture

Finding faults on the instrument seems like piercing daggers into my heart

Using this VBS, to others, may be a glory
But to me, it is an immense load of pressure, a torture

For a whole year, i have to take responsibility of this instrument

By next year, i might as well have got 忧郁症 and die of a slashed wrist

Random

I dunno why but my laptop can't seem to have its Shift+Tab working

My pa went to Germany last week and he brought some sausages, sizes got L, M and S. And my they were so very salty

I have not packed my stuff for Band Camp

I went to Leisure Mall just now and watched "Superhero Movie"

Walter says that my phone only exists for the sake of band.
A poll. What do you think?

Han Loong is coming to my house on Friday. Project nerds we are

I am downloading Cappricio 24 Photos and they are taking an awful long time. More than half an hour and still at 30%

McGriddles are very sweet (oxymoron[?]: sweet nightmare)

Band Chalet: so FUN!

To be true, this will be one of the most memorable times of my life!

I have never gone to East Coast before, and to be true I did not even imagined that such a place would exist in Singaprr!

No any moments during the chalet will have the absence of fun (except sleeping, of course...)

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Day 1 (BBQ)

BBQ was fun.

And I initiated a lot of pranks… HAHAHA!
________________________
Me: (to Walter and Bryan) Let’s fill those cups with ice water, and pour it on Edwin’s head.
Walter: OK
Bryan: HAHAHAHAHA(etc.) (his usual laugh)

3 of us filling plastic cups with ice water around the polystyrene box

Edwin: what are u doing? Eh, who do you wanna attack?
One of us I forgot who: Mr Siao (mr siao was at the bbq pit +-5m away)

Edwin: (very excited) Hahaha after these I… then u… (blah blah blah talking about big plans to drench mr siao but we pretended to pay attn and be excited)

*I was in front of Edwin, Bryan behind, Walter beside

Few seconds later

SPLASH (Bryan pour the water on his head)
SPLASH (I splashed the water at his face)
SPLASH (Walter threw the water at his shirt)

Edwin: %@#$^&*?!
________________________

And that is how the whole chain of water fights started

Edwin got soaked, and so did Elliot (with sprite, lemon tea, etc etc..)
________________________

A few hours later while we were finishing the BBQ food and ice cream, plans and action were still going on to make Edwin wet.

We poured ice water into small plastic cups and cup-noodles cups (which were greasy) and put it aside, in case of anything

Edwin suddenly rushed into the pit and poured away all the water in the box.

But we have reserves (those cups) and Edwin got wetter. HAHAHA

DAY 1 (nite cycling)

We cycled from Pasir Ris Park to Changi Beach Park.

At the beach near airport, we rested and waited for planes to pass by our heads

In Changi, we passed what seemed to be a red-light district (gasp!)

Lily Chais are all around… >.<

Sleeping.
18 people, 8 beds

Imagine 4 people sleeping together on a single-person bed.

Snore… (if u can)

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Day 2

Went morning cycling (free)

Went to Escape Theme Park and spent around 6 bucks

Went to Bowling and spent 9 bucks (or rather owed Walter 9 bucks)
I owned the first round and got owned the 2nd round…

Went to Cinema and spent 6 bucks (or rather owed Walter another 6 bucks)

We watched Narnia, Prince Caspian from 2150 to 0015

After coming back to the chalet, I slept so very well.

Of course, there’s 8 people, 8 beds

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~

Day 3

Woke up at 945, instead of 600 (we wanted to watch the sunrise)

Packed and left at 1015, and later had breakfast at foodcourt

The breakfast for me was bak-cok mee-kia, 2 bags of chips shared, kuped ice kacang from walter and hanson…

And after that, tata to East Coast

Band Elections: DRUM MAJOR

Jie Xuan VS Gideon

I actually wanted to vote for JX (guess it is due to first impression)

But after the election speech, I decided that I may want to vote for Gid.

Gid has more sincerity in his speech, and he seems to think more wisely (HP wad..)

I kinda don't like the way JX present himself. He looks to overconfident and sloppy

But I believe that he has the ability to lead better.

In the end,
My vote is...

CONFIDENTIAL

Mediacorp Visit

Time, a very important factor of success.
Not just grab, but creat your own oppurtunities. Make use of the least to achieve the most.

Empowerment, an essential element for achieving goals.
Let your followers and subordinates receive the knowledge which they should be equipped with.

Blahblahblah BLahblahblAH

The visit to Mediacorp was a very very very Very VERY enriching experience, more better than having Sec Ones bowing to you 90 degrees cos they thought you were a teacher!

We listened to a presentation by the Deputy CEO of Mediacorp, Mr Shaun Seow about MediaCorp as well as the qualities a leader should possess.

Mr Seow is a very good speaker, and introduced us to the challenges faced by the company, such as when having to retrench people, having to give punishments to employees who stirred up controversies, facing editorial issues, etc.

Being a leader of a media company, it is no surprise Mr Seow has really good oratory skills.

After a good discussion on leadership, how he gets the information down to his employees, how he manages the response from the public, how the values of MediaCorp (Integrity, Customer, Entrepeunership, Teamwork, E, Accoutability) stand in the company, etc.

Later we had a tour to the Radio Building and the TV Building of MediaCorp.

We went and look into the "fish tanks" of the studios of 938, 933, 987 and saw the DJs working inside. It does not seem easy being a DJ as there seem to be so much to handle. And there are so many computer screens to look at..

After that we entered the TV Building, which has "antique" tiles which later swooshed into modern renovation.. We went to the studio of Channel NewsAsia, and had the chance to meet one of the news presenter down there.
Kok Leong and Yarn Kit got the chance to try out being "Impromtu news broadcasters", trying out reading the news

After this interesting visit, we got back to where we listened to the presentation.

After a "debrief" we left with pleasant memories in our mind...

Band-in-Charge, 14 May

It was quite hectic, having to run up and down salt centre and band room, in and out of the band hall, all for the keys... !!

Tony Siao did not have my name in the list for "eligible key-drawers", so have to get back to the band hall to get others to draw. Then later when zong xian go with me to the office, we found out that one key was not returned..

Good thing later Mr Kiang and Leng was here by 2.30 so don't need to worry about taking warm ups..

After the sectionals I collected the keys on my way to salt centre, and I arrived there with 4 keys. With 1 key with Zi Qian in the OBR. So I need to go back to OBR to take the keys and go back SALT to drop the keys. Runrunrun, Haiz...

=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=
Sectionals was super fun!
We went to SLims's home room and did sectionals

Inside got aircon, got sofa, got computer, got fish. (Yong Xiang, listen, fish, Fish, FISH! <><<><)

Then during break we went to use the computer. Hahaha. (Psst, please keep this a secret and don't announce it somewhere such that others will know, such as on the web, during chit-chatting, etc.)

I went to SMB and found out that MY GROUP'S PROJECT PROPOSAL GOT 26/30! That owned Shi-jie's group's 25/30! Woohoo! But we handed our prps in late so marks will be deducted... boohoo...

Then later went to youTube and Walter played a vid on a Jap guy singing Nessun Dorma, singing the same pitch as Sarah Brightman. That's maybe something which draws a line between guy and gay.

Bryan went to play a vid on a Bulgarian Idol contestant, which sang Mariah Carey's Can't Live and pronounce it Ken Lee, along with a lot of "nonsensical" non-English verbalations. (dunno if there's such a word)

And hey, what and why are we doing this during sectionals time? (I hope mr leng does not see this post) Cos Slim's room is a distraction. Yes. DISTRACTION! (And I really hope mr leng REALLY does not see this post...) (And mr leng if u are rly reading this post, tt "break" was not more than 10 minutes..)

Walter walks and Walks and WALKS EVERYWHERE around the room, sitting on the sofa, feeding the fishes, sitting on SLim's big big chair, moving shelves around...
"REBELLIOUS, NEEDS TO INSTILL DISCIPLINE" a quote from Walter on my "To-Fix List"

But I always have a way of doing things. When posture not good, I told them to "sit" with the thighs PERPENDICULAR to the ground, with the legs 90 degrees in front... HAHAHAHAHA!!
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=

After sectionals I had to ask mr leng on what he wanted me to tell the band, and he was quite "pissy" with the JC band, he snapped "TELL THEM TO PRACTICE HARD, TAKE CARE OF THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND KEEP THE BAND ROOM CLEAN!"

Well this day was quite an exposure for me to the running of the band, and whoo, it's really very tough being a leader. That's why I went for the leadership sabbatical. (?!)

*cheers!

There's so many Negative Feelings in my Heart...

yesterday in the com room, there were some St Nick girls, apparently from China, rushing in and using the coms to check out some things frantically. They sound very anxious and worried.

Then they came to the com beside me and I saw one girl switching in between windows, one about the news on the earthquake in China, the other one a map of Sichuan (if am not wrong).

The girl is from Sichuan, her parents and 姑妈 also lives there (from what I heard and inferred). She said: “地震发生在这里,我的家在这里(pointing at another location near that of the quake)". Then it struck to me that an earthquake has hit China, so hard that the news reported more than 12000 deaths, as of just now.

You cannot stop these natural disasters from happening, and I can understand how difficult is it to accept the fact of your country being hit by a quake. Well, my best wishes and condolences to all those affected.

Sectionals

To prepare for the National Band Competition

But every people in the section must be at least similar in their playing so as to ensure uniformity, togetherness and balance of sound.

Well, I gave individuals to Zhang Yi from 0830 to 09++, then later combine with Walter and Bryan till 1230.

At 9+, aloycious (sr dunno how to spell) came and I thought, oh my, what an en2 junior the flutes got! Yes, he was en2, but partly cos flutes oso hv sectionals, under Leng.

After sectionals, few of us went to McD on Leng's car, the "dude who is old but young at heart" has a "cool blue car", one which bottom will scrape the ground of KAP's car park entrance.

Too bad Leng did not use his money wisely, or he would be duly appreciated by all those who went with him to McD.

Zhang Yi has to do a lot on his sounds: starting, ending, tone, tuning, etc etc, all of which cannot be solved in just one practice. I wish to take him for more sectionals, if time allows.

Bryan is ok, but he needs more "confidence" and a better tone.

Walter is by far the best among 3 of them, and hope that he can continue working harder.

Yang Fan on the other hand, needs a lot of bucking up to do. He was quite good at Sec1, but he ponned almost the whole of Sec2, making his playing deprove a lot.

Sometimes you really need some talent to play well...

Haiz, there are so much to do, and i hope that we can make it for nx year's SYF.

My DREAMS

I have many dreams.
The whole list may never end
These are just some of my dreams:

1) to be always practical and not always dreaming about dreams

2) to work hard and not always dreaming about dreams

3) to be a thinker who thinks wise and not always dreaming about dreams

4) to be a learner who is alert and not always dreaming about dreams

etc.

I will do my best to realise my DREAMS and STOP DREAMING.
