They are called Cosengokai(コス援護会), the first officially registered NPO in Japan. And their goal is to "raise public awareness of wholesome cosplay culture and provide consultation for cosplayers who have been victims of crimes."

And what are these crimes?

- Stalking

BAKUC!

The Bandai Action Kit Universal Cup is here again. And the forms are available in the club house.

So What is the BAKUC?
"Taken from www.BAKUC.com "

"The Bandai Action Kit Universal Cup (BAKUC) is a monthly contest held amongst modelers using Bandai kits. The skills and techniques demonstrated in extensively modifying and beautifully painting these kits truly make the BAKUC a premiere modeling event. Until now, the BAKUC had been series of preliminary contests held across Asia, with the finals being held annually in Hong Kong. The BAKUC has a distinguished history as a showcase for some of the most amazing models ever displayed.

In 2007, Bandai proudly brings the BAKUC to North America via a monthly contest on the World Wide Web. Modelers may register with our BAKUC website and submit unaltered photographs of their Bandai kits to compete in this newly established online modeling event.

Check out the Galleries. Enter the BAKUC Online Contests. Comment on submitted models. Learn how to build Gunpla by watching video demonstrations from the Masked BAKUC. Talk to modelers in our Forum. And expect the Masked BAKUC himself to stop by often!"

If you want to take part in the competition, Inform the club for CCA points!

No more Odex Letters?

Originally Posted by Stephen Sing from Odex Forum

Let me put it in a very clear and straightforward release to avoid any misunderstanding then.

If an individual stop downloading now, today, on the 3rd September, 2007, he will have no possibility of ever receiving any letters from the copyright holders, (aka the Odex letter) as we will not take anything that he has downloaded before this date against him. We will not send any letters to him.

If an individual continues to download and shows up on our investigation we will send him a letter to ask him to explain why it is so. If he cannot give us a reasonable explanation of why that happened, we will reserve the rights to take legal action against him, with all the evidences that we have collected before and after the 3rd of September (there would necessarily be evidence after the 3rd in order for this to happen).

If you have any friends who still do not know the danger of filesharing, please let them know. Filesharing is illegal and it infringes the intellectual property of the copyright holders. Please do not download.

(o.o)

So guys the coast is clear, no need to worry about getting letters anymore.. unless...

As a School Club, we recommend that ALL members stop downloading the dangerous article unless he/she have a valid reason or have very good talent at convincing people.

So please STOP downloading... instead try streaming or something... Even better buy your animes.

Also spread this information around to as many people as possible, SPLA officially DON'T want to see people, be they member or not, get the LEGAL ACTION.

On Singapore Copyright law

Each Infringing Article can be fined up to SG$10000
