Plamo Department

This concerns all plamo department members who are currently enrolled in the 2006 SPLA plamo course( option A and B).

Missing Students

We have noticed that many of you are absenting yourselves from the class on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Although there is no official attendance taking, we would greatly appreciate you taking the time to inform us of your absence. All we ask is for an SMS stating why you are unable to come.

Your instructor is taking time from his own studies to conduct lessons, please at least have the basic courtesy to do so.

If you have any problems making the Wednesday or Saturday class, please let us know.

We will try to work out a compromise.

We do not wish for anyone to drop out of the course.
However, we will always put the interests of the majority first.

Learning pace

We understand that all members have their own pace of learning and we respect that. However, please understand that the instructor can only repeat his tutorials only so many times. Therefore, I ask that all members to try to make the effort to attend classes regularly and work on their models.

An alternative is to partner yourself with someone and ask him to teach you later. Of course, this is not as effective as being taught first hand.

Next step

Please note we are currently teaching students how to primer. The next stage ( starting 08 Jul 06) will be painting. Please do your best to be present.

Term Two lessons

As term two is significantly shorter and busier than term one, fewer classes will be held this term to allow students to make preparations for their exams and assignments.

Therefore, every lesson is very important.

We may not be able to hold classes during the semester break, but we will let you know as soon as possible.

After the Plamo course

Some of you may be wondering what we intend to do after the completion of basic modeling course, and to be frank, we have nothing set at the moment.

There are a number of ideas-

Build groups
Group projects
SP Plamo competition
Internal Plamo competition
Individual projects
Preparation for the HAG and Asia cup competition
Advanced model courses
Scratch building experiments
and so on.

If you have any ideas, feel free to open a thread and discuss it.

Thank you for your time

-Makoto Sato
