First Day of School

Emilee had her first day of school and she was so excited.  David was out of town - can't believe he left me to take our oldest baby to her first day of school by myself.  I had to stop and get a medicinal Dr. Pepper to calm my nerves!

This is my favorite picture.  We had just pulled into our parking spot at school and she was giddy!  How cute is she with her scary smile??

We walked to her class and got her settled in - she then said bye and didn't even look as I walked out the door.  So proud, but felt like I was missing a part of me as I left her there.

She had a great first day and was excited to go back the next day.  We got ready to get in the car and she made me stop and take a picture of her - apparently she thought that you take pictures every day before you go to "big school."

Congrats Em on going to school and being such a big girl!!

Something To Make You Laugh!

This is what happens when you combine no sleep, no naps, and lots of icing!

Emilee is awake at 9:30 pm which is way past her bedtime, and the CHEESE noise she keeps making is because she thinks everyone is taking her picture.

Let's just say that she LOVED the family vacation...and the cupcake!

What the Hail!!!!

So the last blog post got you caught up on life and the fact that we just moved into a new house about a month ago.  Sunday night our cute new house got pulverized by golf ball sized hail flying through the air at 50-60 miles an hour.  It hailed like that for 8 minutes straight!  The noise was crazy, but the damage the next day was even worse.  We were one of the lucky ones and we will be filing an insurance claim (on our month old home!!@#$#@$#@) to replace our:  2 broken windows, our roof, the gutters, the garage door, 2 AC units, our outside lights, some siding, and whatever else they can find.

Oh, and our cute garden that we put in two weeks ago - it's gone.  All our cute little green beans have been reduced to puny little stalks of nothing, the tomato plants have been cut in half, and our poor bell peppers you can't even see anymore.  Ugh.

We're very thankful that the damage wasn't worse, and that no one was hurt.

Um.....

So...if anyone is still reading this thing - which I'm sure you're not by now - you'll notice it's been a while since I've posted.  I could say that the three little people in the picture below are to blame (I had literally just had them pick up all those legos 2 seconds before) but there's been a lot of stuff going on the last couple of months.  Get ready for the catch up post!!

We went to the State Fair in October - told you it had been a while :)
This is where the aliens tried to abduct my over joyed children from their little farm.
And here we are again in all of our stroller glory!!

Halloween was great!  Our little Maverick, Wesley, kept trying to steal Princess Emilee's wand, while our little goldfish sat in his stroller and watched.

We took the kids to Disney World in November and our niece Stephanie was able to meet us there and stay with us and the kids.  What a lifesaver she was - we couldn't have done it without her and the kids still talk about Steph all the time.  We were able to stay in a great condo where the coolest thing...

...was that the Master bath tub filled from the ceiling.  Do you see the line of water falling from the ceiling to the left of Emilee?  The kids, and the adults :), thought that was so cool.  What can I say - doesn't take much to amuse us!
Disney World was way too crowded when we went, but Em was thrilled to meet some Princesses.  And yes, I was totally one of those parents that put a leash on their kids!
Three kids in three years had us bursting at the seams in our house, and so in November we put our house on the market.  I used my child labor to help get the house ready to show buyers, and somehow David was out of town almost every time we had a house showing.  Lovely!!

We sold our house in February and moved into the new one the second week of March.  It's a good thing we love the new house, because we are never moving again!  It was a beating, but we feel like everything really came together and we are where we should be.

Our Emilee turned 4 in January - how did that happen? She had a great time eating just the frosting off of her cake!  She is such a kind and gentle kiddo, and loves telling her two little brothers what to do!
We had crazy amounts of snow in Jan and Feb.  The kids loved playing in it and loved throwing snowballs at each other.  FYI - Amy, this is what they cancelled school for :)
William, or Baby Will, as he is called by his siblings, turned one in February!  The year has just flown by!  He is such a fun and happy kid who is determined to keep up with his big brother and sister.

I don't know if you can tell, but he really liked the cake!

We put in the garden at the new house last weekend.  I don't have all the boxes unpacked, or anything on the walls, but we have a garden!!
Emilee is our little gardener!  She loved picking out what to plant and playing in the dirt.
She refers to everything in the garden as "My plants!" and loves to help water and take care of them.  I think she probably has a little green thumb.
We got the kids these rocking chairs when we moved into the house and Will loves them!  He can get in and out by himself and shakes back and forth until he get it to rock.  Isn't his face the cutest in this picture.

For about the last month, Wesley has had an ear infection that has been resistant to every vitamin and antibiotic they have thrown at it.  He finally had to go in for Rocephin shots this last week - once a day for three days in a row.  Not fun!  By the third day he was fully aware of what was about to happen and wanted nothing to do with the Dr's office.  I got my workout that day, and he got as many suckers as he wanted!!

And last but not least.  We have a walker!  Watch out, cause this kid is into everything now!!

And this concludes our 6 month blog update!!

Wesley Goes Camping

Wesley and David went on their first Father - Son camp out Friday night.  Can you see how thrilled Wesley was at the beginning?

Still not looking too excited...
Mom made sure to pack some late night snacks.

Mom forgot to pack a football, so someone let Wes play with this one so he would stop screaming every time he saw someone playing with a football.
How cute is this little boy?!  Not even two and a half yet, and he looks like such a big boy.
Playing with flashlights - one of the coolest things about camping.  BTW - take note of his filthy dirty feet.  Only on a boys weekend camping trip can you go to bed with dirty feet.  Let's just say that he had a shower right when he got home.
Time for bed.  Wesley was so excited to be in his sleeping bag in a tent.

This is my favorite picture.  David said that he loved to pick up rocks and wave sticks around.  All boy!  They had a great time and can't wait to go again next year!

Faces

The many faces I see everyday...

Happy...

Sad.
Tired and Annoyed.

 Happy

The "I'm too cute to be in trouble" face.
This one drives me crazy - and yes, she still gets in trouble:)

Happy and Excited for a toy drive-by done by older siblings.

The "uh-oh we got caught - eating chocolate chips we took from the pantry while mom was brushing her teeth this morning" face.

The "shove chocolate in your mouth as fast as you can before mom takes it away and makes us eat a real breakfast" face.

Good thing these faces are so cute - especially with chocolate chip smeared all over them at 8:30 in the morning!

Our Own Little Tea Party

The Saturday after David got back from Philmont ...

...we went out with some friends for a much needed date night.  We went to Babe's ChickenYum!  Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to eat dinner there that night.  William was with us and we had placed his car seat in one of those sling things at the end of the table.  As they brought out the salad, he started fussing so David picked him up and held him in his lap.  A few minutes later out waitress comes out with a tray of drinks for the table behind us, and a different fool of a waitress knocks into her and spills a full glass of sweet tea into Will's car seat.  I'm talking soaking wet - as in we had to tip the car seat on it's side to POUR OUT the tea and ice cubesTea is everywhere, and obviously the manager was sent over.  He took one look at the situation and said that dinner and dessert was on them.  We decided to take our food to go so we could get home and get started on the clean up.  The worst part was having to put Will in his tea soaked seat for the car ride home.  When we get home at nine, my friend throws the car seat cover into the laundry and I throw Will into the bath to rid him of tea.  So much for a relaxing night out after your husband has been gone for 14 days straight!!  Oh, and we didn't make it to church the next day because the straps on his seat were still wet - and Wes had a runny nose - but still - what a mess.

This past Saturday night we went to a wedding reception while my MIL hung out with the kids while they were asleep.  Walked in the door to the reception and got bit on the eyelid by a mosquito.  No big deal right - just a little annoying.  By eleven that night I looked like Sloth from Goonies - minus the gnarly teeth and random tufts of hair.  And yes - I do love me a Baby Ruth!  The swelling still had not gone down by the next morning so we missed church again.  Trying to handle three kids at church is hard enough, let alone with the use of only one eye!

We're going to try date night again this week - on a Friday - so I at least have a day to recover!

Oh, and in the meantime, we're working on this over here.

Heaven help me!!  AGHHHHH!

This Is What Happens When Wesley Is Bored...

...he fogs up the inside of the toy bucket.  That kid cracks me up!
