Trevi is 1 Year!

I can't believe my little sweetheart is already one. Cliche of all cliches, but time flies when you're having fun! Trevi has most definitely made her first year with us so much fun. She is the calmest, sweetest, most lovable little chub. It is so crazy to me how different her and Navi's personalities really are. She is so content and most of the time just watches her wild sister run circles around her. They love each other so much and my favorite part of the day is when they first see each other in the morning. Navi loves and kisses on her and Trevi nuzzles right back into her.

To go along with her calm and content personality, Trevi has been a lot slower on the milestones compared to Navi. She didn't even start crawling until she was 10 months! Navi was walking by then. But like I said, I think it's due to the fact that her sister never gave her a space clearance of 3 feet so she could attempt to crawl. :)

1 year Trevi-isms:

nicknames: TJ, Sissy, and Roonie
favorite foods: ANYTHING. I'm sure it's not a shock that our little chubs likes food. And so far I haven't found anything that she dislikes.
sleeping habits: she is an angel. She has been sleeping through the night since she was 2 weeks old. I'm so spoiled and I have NO idea what I'm going to do whenever I have another baby who doesn't sleep.
favorite show: Dora. Following in her older sister's footsteps, she loves her some Dora.
words: not a lot, but she says a very enthusiastic "hi", "Daddy", and of course "Dor-da"
well check up stats:

Here are some pictures from her first birthday bash:

haha, right in the middle of her delicious cake, she had to take a potty break

TJ is 8 months!

Ok, so I guess it will feel better to just put it out in the open: I am not on the ball the 2nd time around. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Trevi's updates can and will be blamed on the 2nd child syndrome. (man, I can't imagine how awful I'll be with the 3rd little one!) I always told myself I would make it a priority to write down and document just as many milestones of Trevi's and I did with Navi. I am failing. Consider my hands slapped. From here forward I will try and do better. (cleansing breath...)

At 8 months Trevi's:

Preferred method of transportation: rolling all over. She was quite the stinker and almost made me believe she wasn't going to roll at all! She began really going for it around 7 months. Although, Big Sister was crawling at this point, so it's interesting to see the difference between the two. (another slap on the hands - I have told myself it is pointless to compare them, but it's kind of hard not to, when I only have one example to go off of) I think more than anything Trevi just has her dad's personality. Chill and relaxed. She was born on his birthday after all! She seems perfectly content to sit back and watch her crazy sister entertain us all. :)

Preferred food: bottles. What can I say, this girl likes to eat! Although she likes baby food and eats pretty much all flavors, (Except peas, she gags at the sight of peas. But who can blame her? Have you SMELLED those things?! Barf!) Nothing excites our little chunker more than the sight of her baba. (Although Navi making her laugh is right up there)  And more than one old lady at the grocery store has commented on her chubs. My favorite thus far, "Well. she doesn't miss a meal, does she?" Seriously Old Lady? Even my sister has lovingly nick-named her Heavy Trevi. And yes, I am slightly concerned the poor little girl will grow up with a complex...funny thing is, I don't think she's any chubbier than Navi was. Maybe just a bit rounder in the cheeks.

Preferred person: Mommy. YAY! Don't get me wrong, she is all smiles when Daddy comes home, or when Navi is making her giggle - which is quite often. - but she definitely notices when I leave the room. And my favorite moment with her so far was when we came to pick her up from my aunt who was babysitting, and she turned her head when we walked in the door and her face lit up and she started kicking and bouncing. So presh. She cuddles so much more than Navi ever did and I LOVE it.

Preferred routine: Wakes up around 8:30-9:00, drinks a bottle and eats some baby food, bath time, plays with Sister and mom, nap around 11:00-12:00 which usually lasts around 4 hours (!) yes, I said 4, more food, playing and laughing, excited when Dad gets home, night time feeding, goes to bed around 9:30 and sleeps THE WHOLE NIGHT. I'm still in awe and it's been going on 6 months. She is seriously the best little baby. I don't know how I got so lucky. However, I'm also pretty sure Heavenly Father knew I couldn't handle anymore sass or attitude from Trevi with Miss Navi around.

Other favorites: TJ loves Aunt Booie and they like to have naps together. As mentioned before, she LOVES Navi and I absolutely adore the moments they spend playing together. Navi is still a bit confused on how to refer to Trevi though, and I oftern hear, "He is laughing! Him is so cute!" (or something similar) We're working on "her" and "she". Trevi loves her bouncer and will jump and jump and jump. She says, "Da da da" no matter how much I try to persuade her otherwise. She will wave on occasion when I say "hi" but of course won't do it on cue, so no one believes me. She also has her two bottom teeth. Kind of slow to get either (around 7.5 months) but once the first one popped through, it only took the 2nd a couple days to peek through as well.

I can't say enough how much we love our Trevi Girl. It was fun to see Navi hit so many milestones so early and get big so fast. But now that I know just how fast babies grow up, I'm kind of glad that Trevi is my content little sweetheart. She is my cuddle bug and quiet child. What a blessing she has been to our family. I feel like her first year is flying by and so I'm trying to savor every second.

These were supposed to be her 6 month pics but they were actually a bit closer to 7...yep, I'm awesome.

Pretty little thing!

Ditching Diapers

- or at least half of them. Hooray!

Before Navi turned 2 she started "knowing" when she was going to go potty. I thought, "Sweet! This will be easy to potty train her since she can already tell when she is going to go." WRONG. Have you met my daughter? The sass and stubbornness didn't fall far from the tree. (AKA me) My bad! Since the middle of the summer...ish...I slowly began to introduce panties and the idea of going on the potty to Navi. I bought awesome Ariel underwear, a Dora potty seat and really tried to emphasize how fun it was to use the potty. Did I fool her? Nope. She all but screamed bloody-murder when I even attempted to put on her on the toilet. And sometimes did. Months went by and finally I knew it was time to buckle down. (or if you're Craig Bolerjack, "buckle up") Thanks to a little advice from friend, (who BTW potty-trained 2 girlies) I was going to do it. Keyword = I. I came to realize I needed to get just as serious about the potty as Navi.

So,
I gathered a collection of miscellaneous dollar store toys and the ultimate prize [The Lion King] and made a pretty sweet sticker chart. (if I do say so myself) Getting the first couple rows completed was tough, I won't lie. But once the ball started rolling, Navi did great. Then just like all the stories you hear, one day it just clicked. We haven't looked back since!

The finished product:
(for some reason it flips in the uploading process and I can't figure out why!)

And the coveted prize:

Then we celebrated with cousins and her cute friend Alexa when she made it to "Lion Show". We had a Potty Party and watched the movie with popcorn and treats. (courtesy of Halloween)

Buying diapers for one has been nothing short of awesome. All hail the porcelain throne! ...or in this case a pink plastic Dora seat and a couple of Ikea mini potties. (upstairs and down)

Month of Pumpkins and Candy

I'm behind as usual, but not yet a month behind, so that's an improvement. We had lots of fun during October and were grateful for some beautiful fall weather. One of my favorite Cache Valley traditions is going to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk. It holds a special place in my heart because I grew up in North Logan and have helped put together a few scenes over the years. It's so fun to be sharing the tradition with my own family now.

Navi and her friend Cache. Cute cute!

She still hasn't mastered the "open your eyes and smile" trick yet. But she's sure cute  either way!

My friend Anna with Cache and Season. Both kids are just a few months younger/older than my girls.

The cut out faces were a hit and of course Ariel was her favorite!

Parx and Trevi are birthday buddies! They were born the same day.

Season, Parx and Trevi

We went to the Pumpkin Walk in the morning with friends and then went later in the afternoon with my sisters.  (I told you I love it!)

Cute little Yoda!

This is one of my favorites for some reason. :)

Halloween

My pretty peacock

We went trick-or-treating with cousins and friends to Lee's and later to the mall.

This is on the way into Cafe Sabor. I read that they were having a costume contest and the winner would get a bike!

So we thought we'd try our luck and enter...

...and she WON!

And I can't forget my snuggly Snoopy!

Does it get any cuter?? Pretty sure it doesn't!
