I have been having very morbid dreams recently. On Friday night, I dreamt that I killed Alvin's ugly toy poodle. I guess that is the result of me disliking it so much haha. I am going to get a big dog like Golden retriever one day. Another dream was when I dreamt that a friend of mine died. That dream was after we watched "The prequel to Exorcist". Ray and Raymond camped at Alvin's for past two nights, kinda fun watching movies and swimming together.
We went to Ronald's on Thursday for Poker session. Buy-in $25 and I ended up with $50 at the end of the game. Natasha was the biggest winner of the night and I am second out of 7 players. Fun night!

The situation around the world now is so devastating.
The Myanmar cyclone, followed by the Earthquake in southwestern China and just on Saturday Tornado hitting America. How coincident it is that all these natural disaster are happening in countries who also faced issues internally. The Burmese are having some political struggle with its military government and after which the cyclone happened. China's internal strife regarding the Tibetans and the disruptive journey of the Olympics torch and now the Earthquake. America's weakening economy and then the Tornado. Just some correlations that struck my mind when I am thinking about the natural disasters that had been happening.
One fine day, a natural disaster could happen to Singapore as well. Do not take our "strategic location" for granted, thinking that any disasters that happen could be "blocked" by our neighbours. With the environment and global climate going haywire, you can never know what would happen. Hard to say. I agree with what Lee said that something bad will surely happen during the lifespan of the Y Generation.
Busy weekend for me, helping my mom out and also preparing for my interviews this week. Two 2nd rounds of interview tomorrow, 1 interview with 1 of the leading wires for financial information and news and another with a FMCG giant in the cosmetics & toiletries industry. To think that I blew the first rounds away, grateful that 2nd chance is here. Pisses me off to see the SMU article this weekend boasting about the number of graduates getting job offers before graduation and the increased average pay that the 2007 batch is getting. In 2006, the average pay was $2850. In 2007, the average pay is freaking $3000+. I am pissed off because they painted such a rosy picture for everyone to see and I do not see that it applies to everyone in the co-horde. I rejected 2 offers before graduation but getting offered before graduation aint a big thing to boast about, a lot of factors have to be considered before saying that a offer is a good offer. The average pay figure sometimes gives SMU students a false expectations on their future pay. Ah wells, unless I am one of those receiving the average pay probably then I wouldnt be complaining about it.
--- blog break---
This is hilarious.
I took a break from blogging this post as Raymond called and after talking to him for 1 minute I START TO NOSE BLEED!!! I am blogging now while I try to stop the blood from flowing out profusely. Goodness, imagine what will happen if this happens during my interview tomorrow. It better not happen.
I had a great week last week despite all this. No clubbing at all. Met up with a lot of friends, Met up with Ron & Nat, Secondary school friends, cookout at Geraldene's, 5 different birthdays- Mitchy mitch's, Minyu, Debbie, Amy & Siying. I watched NACHO LIBRE on HBO earlier, its hilarious!
Time to rest... till the next time.

Havent had enough time to watch Gossip Girl to find out who is G...
Been busy with interviews and having fun this week. I haven't been hunting for more jobs, I hope i can stop this soon. It is really a very tiring process, drafting cover letters, reading up on the company, sending emails, preparing and attending interviews and you get no good news after so long.
Big sigh... totally envy Mr Alvin Chia now who got his dream job as a management consultant. I am very very happy for him. We were asking each other the other day, do dreams really come true? I guess it did for him and it didn't for me since Shell rejected me after my first round of interview. It's just ain't that easy for some people like it is for others. Ah wells.
Stomach had been feeling damn shitty these few days, it is so bloated till it seems like its gonna explode anytime. It's time of the month for me so hopefully it will deflate soon.

School is out for me.
Done with exams, done with bitchy stupid professors who are so bias and make courses so unenjoyable, done with kind and patient professors who made me look forward to classes everytime, done with those ad-hoc events i get to organise and work with different people in school, done with Kopitiam, done with slow aunties at the photocopying shop who told me they take 2 days to photostat some simple stuffs for me, done with stay overs in Li Ka Shing library which I kinda enjoy, done with Pick & Bite, done with GSR 2.18, done with Ice Cold Beer in Business Block, done with security guards who always chase us out of seminar rooms when we try to study in there though they got a lil nicer with time, done with "hello, how are you? rushing projects eh" and "byeee", done with stupid participation marks though it helped me out sometimes, done with teaching assistant and research assistant experiences, done with the concourse that is always filled with colourful events' collaterals, done with my lovely exchange that still seems so surreal.
I am done with school.
I hope the above descriptions painted a colourful picture of what my university life had been like.
Ready to start work, broke for any more grad trips that many are planning right now, I had a great 4 months and I doubt any trips now can exchange for that. Where we had a "base" right in Europe that we can go back to after travelling for few days and that allowed us to plan trips easier and cheaper compared to doing it from Singa... where we can just chance upon $0 deals and fly out of Barcelona...I know I can never have that again but I am glad I had it... My lovely danish friend, Sofia, is coming to Singapore at the end of this year!! So excited!! =)
I know what my first job would be. Cant wait to start. Patience and faith will see me through.

Done with an interview...
Prepared the whole week for it, it went pretty well and hope to receive good news from them soon. There will be a tougher second round though. Keeping my fingers crossed. I know of a lot of people who had gone for the interview already as well hopefully the number of openings are reasonably on par with the number of people who are called for the interview.
It is week 14 now.
Time to mug for exams.
3 last papers of SMU and it will be the end of my SMU term.
It had been a very fruitful 4 years for me in SMU. The number of school activities I got myself involved in enriched my whole stay here. Though not everything had been smooth but I would say those minority issues gave me great learning experience as well. I hope it had been for all of you as well no matter the schools you are in. My academic achievements from year 2 onwards had been amazing, seriously, this would not have been possible if I had not met Alvin. He made me realised how bad it was and I am proud about the changes I made for myself. It is also heartwarming how the few of us like Grace, nana, xueling, asthee, dene and others in my gang could remain close from year 1 till now. I thank all of them for the friendship that made my stay in SMU even more meaningful.
I went for the last Starry starry nite in SMU on Friday, an annual school rock band event. Made me so nostalgic when they mention the old campus and all. I love the old campus more though it is creepier but it is a place that the SMU seniors call it their own.
I am sure that the world out there ahead of us would be very different from where I had been for the past 16 years. I know that there are people who had been treating school as if they are out in working world, playing politics, backstabbing etc. But it had been a pure learning experience and building of relationships for me. Passive or submissive behavior you might say, but at least I truly enjoyed what school should be like and I had not lost anything by doing so, in fact i gained a lot more. I know that such "stunts" cannot be avoided in the working world but I believe that I have the capacity to control and handle what they are doing with my own style.
I still remembered that when I signed up for SMU, I really disliked the "in your face" advertising methods, but I had grown used to it, not everything is perfect but I truly appreciates what SMU is doing.
I am ready to start work anytime. Not enough moolah for gradtrip and i had my fair share from exchange anyway. cant wait.
Good luck for your exams my dear friends!! People who are still in school for e.g. Bawang, study hard and make the most out of your university life ok???
CHEERS!!!
