10 Exciting Things about Emily (by Emily)

I found a draft of a paper that Emily had to hand into her English teacher this morning sitting by the computer and thought that it would be fun to share.

1. I would like to be a pastry chef when I grow up.
2. My favorite food is sausage.
3. I've been on the swim team for two years.
4. I have two older sisters, whose names are Cara and Alicia.
5. My favorite book is Chasing Vermeer.
6. I've played the flute for two years.
7. My favorite colors are purple and green.
8. I have lived in Texas and California.
9. I love to knit scarves.
10. I do tap and jazz dancing.

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words...

I've been waiting to post until I could add some pictures (Alicia's dorm room, Cara and Emily on the first day of school, etc.). Unfortunately, our photographer extraordinaire (Alicia) owns the working digital camera and the camera that I have been using doesn't have the cord to connect to the computer. FYI you can't just waltz into Best Buy to purchase another one :( (I know because I tried.)

So, I'm pictureless but promise not to write a thousand words...

It is a day of new beginnings (not just the blog) as all of the girls began a new school year. Alicia is beginning her sophomore year of college, Cara is in 11th grade and Emily began middle school (6th grade). So far, so good! Everyone returned home happy with their classes, teachers, etc. Because we tend to be somewhat nocturnal our summer of late nights and late mornings caught up with us this morning. Hopefully our body clocks will adjust and morning won't come quite so quickly tomorrow!

I promised a few of you a blog by Monday... it's Monday! I'm sure that this will be a work-in-progress as I try to figure things out. I'm counting on you (and you all know who you are) to be available for technical assistance!
