About Face

Since I was pregnant and then breastfeeding, I was unable to use any face soap with salicylic acid. This is what is good for those annoying blemishes. My skin has fared pretty well despite not being able to use strong stuff on my face. Well, now that I am done breastfeeding, I can use acne-fighting soap again. My sister uses a Murad brand system and her skin looks fabulous, so I am trying it. I took a before picture, but am not feeling brave enough to post that picture right now. I sure hope it works, b/c I am tired of fighting breakouts at this age!!

New Desk

We have been using this computer cart for many many years. It was a hand-me-down from my sister that she used in college. This thing was just NOT functional as a home office computer desk anymore.

Well, a while back, we were wandering around Sam's and saw this computer desk. We instantly fell in love with it and the price. It was VERY reasonable. And it was just what we wanted-a desk to go in the corner. There was a hutch we could order online, but when we looked after we bought the desk, it was no longer available on Sam's website. Bummer. But..we sure LOVE this new desk!! What do you think??
Now we need to get Justin's TCU diploma framed so we can hang both of ours up and add some more wall decor. Wahoo!!!!

9 month update

Tomorrow Brandon will officially be 10 months old. Time is sure flying. In just 2 short months he will be one!! WOW!!

Here is an update for his 9th month.

-We went to the dr. for a checkup and he weighed in at 16 lbs. 2 oz. He was 29 1/2 inches long. Still looong and leeean.

-He had is first ear infection this month. No fun, but he was extra cuddly while he was not feeling well and we sure took advantage of that!!

-He is sleeping better, well going down easier to bed and for most naps. He will go through phases of waking up at 1:30 am. I am not enjoying that. It took almost an hour of him crying last night before he went back to sleep. He still will wake up around 7 am to eat and go back to sleep until 8:30 or 9 am.

-He is walking well behind a walker push toy. He loves doing this and when he runs into things he stops, looks at us, and whimpers until we move him.

-He is a super fast crawler and cruises and pulls up really well.

-His top tooth finally poked through last Sunday. We can see a little bit of the other top tooth. Once those teeth come in he will have 4 and I think it will make him look so much older.

-This month he really started smiling more at us and laughing/giggling at us or when something amuses him.

-He loves to play at the pantry door. We have some shelves hanging from the door and he loves taking the sprinkles containers out and shaking them and putting them back in the shelf. Then he loves to carry off the sprinkles and play with them!! Here he is at the pantry playing.

-He takes after my dad in the fact that Brandon loves to make noise. He discovered the windowsills and that he can pound his small toys on them to make noise.

-He is eating baby food pretty well. We have not introduced too many finger foods, but will start giving him more real veggies I think.

-He has completely refused to nurse anymore, which saddens and relieves me at the same time. I have stopped pumping this week and we will just use all the frozen milk we have stored in the freezer.

I'm sure there is more, but nothing is coming to mind...I can't believe how much he's grown and changed in the last 9 months. I really enjoyed my spring break week off with him. I am really looking forward to this summer.

We went to see Justin's grandma in Corsicana on Friday. She sure enjoyed seeing her great grand baby! We had a great visit!

Adorable!

I sure love this picture (it is now our background picture on our huge new monitor). I love this outfit on Brandon. I love his smile. I love his skinny little body. I love the the sounds of laughter from Brandon. I love to watch him play and learn and explore. I sure love this little boy.

Cards

One Saturday, while Brandon was napping, I decided to make some cards. I got some really cute paper and a cute birdie hello stamp a while back. So here's pictures of what I made that day!! I thought they turned out really cute!

Sorry-can't get this one to rotate correctly...

Growing up is hard

Well, last month we sold my car. I was very sad about it b/c I loved that little car so much. It was the first car I bought and paid for. It was exactly what I wanted and I loved driving every minute I was in it. But it was just not a practical family car at all. 2 doors=no fun to get a baby in and out of. And Justin's grandmother gave us her 2001 Buick LeSabre before Thanksgiving. She was not driving it and knew we needed a 4 door car. It is a very roomy car. It is much easier to get Brandon in/out the backseat.
While we had the car on Auto Trader.com I enjoyed driving it on the days I did not have to take Brandon anywhere.

On my last drive to work in the car I listened to The Sound Of Music and Phantom of the Opera soundtracks. I had to fight back tears the whole way to work, but just kept singing!!

I know it is silly to love a car so much and get so attached. But I just did...

We now have a good car fund going so that we can pay cash for our next car. Selling my car doubled our new car fund, which is really cool!!

Here are a few farewell pictures to my fun 2-door Honda Accord Coupe.

Vertigo is no fun!!

A few weeks back I had "benign positional vertigo." The dr. told me that a piece of calcium in my inner ear broke off and was floating around looking for a new place to land and call home. So this meant that everytime I turned my head or moved, the room would continue to turn/move after I stopped. It was AWFUL!!!! It is amazing what your inner ear does for your balance. My dad and grandma have both had inner ear/vertigo issues, so I am just a lucky kid in the heredity line. :( it took about a full week to week and a half for this to clear up and go away totally. I do hope that I don't have this again anytime soon. It was no fun!
