Quotes from Kaylees coloring

I found Kaylee coloring on a little piece of paper.  Curious me... I wanted to know what she was coloring on.  And just when I was about to get upset and tell her... "Kaylee!  You know we don't color on anything but coloring books and blank pieces of paper!"  I stopped to read the quote on the little piece of yellow paper, which quickly calmed my tired-mom-temper.
It read:
"What a glorious thing it is to know that we can choose our course, write our destiny, and determine our blessings.  it is not too late to choose.  The choice is ours, but we must choose this day whom we will serve."  -N. Eldon Tanner
It made me remember why I am here on this earth.  I was given a wonderful blessing to choose for myself.  I have my own personal agency.  As a mother, I am constantly trying to get my kids to see the bigger picture and learn to discern right from wrong and good from evil.  I want to choose to serve my Heavenly Father.  Not always do I manage to do a great job at that, but I am a work in progress and the choice is mine.  And I Made my choice. Hopefully my kids can follow my example in my decision to serve Him.

Snowman Party '11

 It's SNOWMAN PARTY time!!!!
Above:  Here are some of the snowmen in my house.  Some of which were crafts from previous snowman parties!
Below is the place setting.  It is a little dark.  But I thought it was cute non-the-less.
 Marie, Candita, and Damon
I made"Melted Snowman" aka... Soup.  It was Pasta Fagioli soup.  YUMMY!
Kaylee helped me make this "snowman cheeseball".  She put her barbie hat on him.  She said he should be a cowboy snowman.  ha ha
Here is Heathers "sledding snowman cake"  YUMMY  Chocolate Ganache cake!
Here is the crew making snowman buttons.
I didn't get a good pic, but Candace made "desecrated snowmen" aka... brownies.
My Mil, Kathie brought yummy "snowman smiles" aka... oranges.
I will have to add a pic of our little snowman button pins.  They were small, but cute.  Hope everyone had a good time this year.  If you didn't get an invite, don't be mad.  I wasn't that ambitious this year to have a BIG party.

My Konnor man!

Konnor is becoming quite the character!  He has such a fun imagination and is VERY active!  Here are a couple of fun pics of our little Kon-man!  Just look at these eyes peeking over the chair.  That is a sight I get to see every day at lunch time!
 Dimples!

Is this perfume for me?
Brotherly love!  He has been SO cute with Kase!  He calls him "Bee Bee".  And he sticks out his lips when he says it.

Crazy thing happened the other day...
I was upstairs getting ready, Kyle was in charge of the kids.  And I listened for the kids from upstairs.  I noticed that Konnor wasn't making ANY noise.  And when he is silent, he is up to NO GOOD!!!!  So, I asked Kyle if Konnor was with him.  He said, "No".  So Kyle, Kaylee and I went on a HUNT for Konnor all over the house.  We looked and looked and looked!  We couldn't find him anywhere.  I even called next door to see if he slipped outside or to their house.  I was starting to PANIC!  We all were!!
Then I went to look out these windows below...
And then I SAW THIS.....
HA HA HA HA HA... He fell asleep in the computer chair facing the window.  We couldn't see him at all.  Who would have guessed a 2 year old would be sitting in that chair above.  NOT US!  He bored himself to sleep looking out a window with the blinds closed.
We sure love that little bundle of cuteness!

Kase's Blessing Day!

A happy day!
Kyle and I with Kase.  Isn't he a cutie-pie!!!!
He was blessed on January 9, 2011 by his daddy!
Those who came were: Grandpa Keith, Grandma Kathie, Grandpa Paul, Cody, Amber, (Brayden, Caleb, Mariah), James, Ashley, Baby Jason, Heather, Baby Anna, Anthon, Marie, & Baby Damon.
Our little Kase is a doll.  He slept all through Sacrament meeting.  He is smiling like crazy these days.  He loves to watch Kaylee and Konnor run around the house.  He likes to be held while you are standing up. He started to belly laugh the week of his blessing!  He is 3 months and weighs 13 lbs.
Above: Grandpa Paul and Grandma Kathie!
Below: Grandpa Keith snuggling with Kase.  Grandparents love is the cutest!
Daddy love.  And look at that smile!  Kase knows his daddy loves him.
Heather making Kase laugh!!!! It was sooo cute!
Momma smooches!  OOOOHHH man, I love him!
The older kids hanging out upstairs.  (Brayden, Kaylee, Konnor, Caleb)
Beautiful Marie holding Damon!  He was born 3 days after Kase!  They are going to be good buddies, I just know it!  Oh, yeah... and Anthon is there too.  ha ha.  Don't kill me for posting this pic Kathie.
After the blessing, the crew came over to the house for a brunch.  We had a fun spread of food. I made Scrambled egg muffins (sausage and ham), we had Heathers rocking Pumpkin muffins, Kathies amazing fruit/yogurt parfaits, and we also had sausage links, mini berry muffins, mini-cinnamon rolls, oj, & milk!  It seemed to be a big hit!  Good times had by all!

On the Ice...

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the marina by our house.  Utah lake is frozen, and the kids wanted to walk on it.  We don't have pics of them ON it, because it was obviously slippery.

Kase is so sweet huh!
Someday we are going to find a good patch to ice skate on!
BTW:  Our new camera takes such good pics!  Now I just need to learn how to use it!!  hahaha

New Years...

Happy New Years!  Our ward did a fun family New Years bash.  I taught a couple of dances, and Kyle performed a medley on the guitar.  It was a lot of fun!  and the kids were great!  The party was from 8-10pm.  We then came home, and watched the New York Ball drop!  The kids fell asleep about 10 min. to midnight, so we quickly put them to bed, and Kyle and I came back down stairs, poured our Martinellis' sparkling cider and danced in the living room as the clock hit midnight!  This is going to be a good year!  I can just feel it!
I have a few New Years resolutions... I am BIG on resolutions.  1.  It is my plan to have Family Home Evening every Sunday night and an activity on Monday night.  2.  I want to attend the temple once a month at least.  3. I want to DATE MY HUSBAND at least 3 times a month.  :)  Sometimes our kids come on dates with us.  (So, just he and I- 3 times.)  4. I hope to be more balanced in my life.  (being a wife, mother, house cleaner, teacher, and just having fun etc...)  That is about all I will post on the blog... even though I have like a list of 7 things.  ha ha.

Snowman Party

Every January I host a "Snowman Party"!  Everything has to do with snowmen!  Decorations, food, craft, everything!  After all of the fun with: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years; January is kind of a blah month.  You are trapped indoors bc it is so cold.  So this is one of my fave parties to have!
Here are the pics from this years 4th Annual Snowman Party!  (sorry some of you missed it!)

Backrow: Charlotte, Heather, Marie, Miken, Shari, Erika, Shelly
Front row:  Kathie, Kaylee, Konnor (in front), Karen, Maryanne, and Little miss K.

Here is our WaCkY PoSe!
The Snowman Food!  We had Melted Snowman Soup (potato soup) with snowballs (rolls)!
There was snowman cupcakes, snowman hearts, Snowman noses and snowman snot (carrots and dip), Snowman poop (donuts with junior mints), Snowman cheeseball, Muddy snowmen (eclairs), Snowman rolls (egg rolls), Melted snowman fruit dip and fruit, YUM

It is fun to get a bunch of ladies together that don't even really know each other.  Then they leave as good friends!  Some of them don't see each other but once a year at the snowman party!  haha
Now just look at these new friends!
 Mission buddies!  Temple Square Sistas!
Erika and Marie are new found friends!  That was a funny moment!
We made a snowman craft and played a snowman dice game.
Here is the snowman guy I made.  If you go back to the first pic, you will see the ladies holding up their snowman craft.  Lots of creativity!
Thanks to everyone who came!  It was so much fun!  Snowmen make for a fun party, but the company is what makes the memories!   Happy January everyone!

Snowman fun!

Kyle helped the kids make this super-awesome snowman!  I faithfully observed with Kase!
Take note of the cool hat the snowman is sporting... it's Konnor's Mickey Mouse hat that DigiCert hooked us up with last year!

Ok... So we did a LOT of partying!  Brothersen extended family party, ward party, Christmas Eve dinner party, Christmas morning, Christmas day at Grandma and Grandpa Petersons, Christmas dinner at Grandpa Keiths... phew!  Here are just some random pics from all of those.  A baby in one hand and the mouse in the other...makes for short dialog.  sorry.
