Preschool Christmas Program

Last Thursday we went to Brynlee's preschool Christmas program.  She got to be the star and I must say she was a pretty cute star :)  She memorized and said her part perfectly, sang like an angel, and we couldn't be more proud!  Love you Bryn!

Brynlee and her friend Bella dressed up as Mary
The little turkeys wouldn't smile at me...

Christmas decor & Temple Square

Brynlee was so excited this year to put up all the Christmas decorations.  I kept trying to put it off, but Brynlee would plead and beg me every day to put up the tree, so I finally caved.  She wanted to help with everything.  Can you tell?
Grandma came over to visit one day and Brynlee and Boston talked her into buying them little Christmas tree's for their rooms.  They got to pick everything out themselves.  They were pretty excited.  Thanks Grandma :)
And of course they both wanted a picture by their new trees
We also went to Temple Square with the kids again this year.  As always it was super busy, but not near as cold as when we went last year.  AND while we were walking to Temple Square we passed Elder Oaks and his wife and they stopped and said hi to us.  Pretty cool.

Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving with the Clarks' this year.  Food was yummy, company was great, black Friday shopping....well it was a little cold, okay, really cold, but you can't break tradition right?!  Kelli and I stood outside Toys r us for a good hour to hour and a half before we got in.  Brrr.  Makes me cold just thinking about it.  Then I made my way over to Wal-Mart where I got to experience what it feels like to be a sardine!  Yikes!  But I got what I wanted!
And this is the only picture I took of the weekend.  The girls having a tea party.

SnOw, sNOw, SNoW!

We've had an awful lot of snow here lately.  The kids have had a blast playing and sledding in it.  If I could only keep them from eating it!  It wouldn't be so bad if they would only eat the clean snow...
Brynlee making a snow angel
Boston's attempt at a snow angel.  It's pretty funny to watch.  Those arms and lets just aren't long enough :)

Howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy!

Conversation with Boston today:
Me: Boston what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas?
Boston: Woody
Lance: What would you do with another Woody?
Boston: I'd say "Hi I'm Woody" "I'm Woody too" "Howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy"

Hmmm, I love this kid.

Meeting Santa

Friday we were at the Layton Mall doing a little Christmas shopping and guess who happened to be sitting in a big old chair in the middle of that mall?  Yep, Santa...before Thanksgiving...I'm not even going to start in on that one.  Anyway, Boston was dying to go see Santa.  He sat on his lap like a champ and told him all the things he wanted; Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bullseye.  Next up, Brynlee,  she was scared to death of him and wouldn't say a word until Santa told her that if she didn't tell him what she wanted for Christmas than he wouldn't know what to bring her.  Then the list came out a million miles a minute.  Pinkie Pie, a talking Jesse, etc.  Gotta love it!

Brynlee is also at the age of asking a gazillion questions all the time.  Some of the more recent ones:  How is Santa going to open our fireplace (our fireplace is one of those gas ones that don't open, pretty smart question on her part if I do say so myself)?  How does he know when I'm sleeping?  Why is it snowing? Oh I could go on and on and on and on and on....but I wont :)  You also can't watch a movie with her without a question coming out of her mouth about every 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes I have to remind myself that she is in that "soak it all in" stage.  She definitely keeps me on my toes!  And if I can't answer her questions I usually say "we'll have to ask daddy and see if he knows" to which she almost always answers "Ya daddy knows everything"  Hahahaha always makes me laugh :)

SpOoKy, sPooKy, SpOOkY!

Ah, Halloween, gotta love it.  Especially when you have a fun filled week of it! Phew, I'm just glad it's over :)
Up next the very scary, very spooky, very...okay just cute! Butterfly and Monkey!
Part I: Halloween playgroup.
The sugar cookies were a huge hit!  Mmmm!

Part II:  Preschool Halloween party!
She was so proud of her pumpkin :)
Brynlee with two of her good friends Bella and Brenna
Part III: St. George
We decided to enjoy Halloween in sunny St. George with friends.  Good thing because from what we hear it was very cold and rainy at home. SO lets start out with the pumpkin carving.

Oh the concentration...have you ever used a drummle  (sp?) to carve a pumpkin.  All I have to say is, SO MUCH EASIER!  And faster.  I'm sold.
On to the trick or  treating!
The cute little gang
Oh boy, the sugar is starting to kick in!
She loved the butterfly facepaint.  Can you tell?
And their favorite part?!  Not the dressing up, nope, not the candy...any guesses?!  The Toy Story game cards that they got at the trunk or treat.  Ha, who knew?  Goofy kids :)
Okay this might have been Brynlee's FAVORITE part of the night!  She loved handing out the candy when people would knock on the door!  Next year we're not going door to door.  We're just going to let Brynlee be in charge of our door! Awesome!
And lastly, the pumpkins.  They look pretty sad.  I should have taken pictures the day we did them instead of two days later...Oops.  But you get the point right?!  Mine's the owl on a tree branch.  And Lance's is the spider.  He was very proud of his spider :)

Happy Halloween to all!
**Sorry that this post is a little weird and confusing.  I am NOT, I repeat NOT liking this new blogger picture upload thing.  It's really getting on my nerves.  Took me way too long to post this and it still didn't turn out how I wanted it to.  Grrrr....thanks for letting me vent ;)**

Go Utes!

Saturday Lance and Boston went to the Utes games with Riley.  Boston loved it. When I ask him about the game he tells me all about it, that they catch the ball and run and fall down--all done with actions courtesy of Boston of course.  It's pretty cute.  He even runs around saying--or more like yelling--GO UTES!  Ya, Riley should be proud.  He did a pretty good job with the brain washing :) He keeps asking when he gets to go again too.  Hopefully the weather stays nice for a little longer so we can take him without it being freezing.
tailgating before the game and playing some football of their own.
The game was at 2 and I guess by the third quarter the little guy was exhausted.  Poor thing had to take a nap in the noisy stadium on the cement floor :(
I sent the camera with Lance so he could get some pictures...why is it that they didn't think to take a picture of themselves until the end of the game after Boston woke up from his nap and wasn't very happy?  Oh well.

Food, Family, Fair, Fun!

Did I mention the food?  Mmmm, we look forward to the EISF all year long just because of all the yummy food.  And don't worry, we ate our fare share of it this year :) We found out that Brynlee would be happy living off of scones and honey butter for the rest of her life.  Then again, who wouldn't?!  The kids had a blast with their cousins riding on all of Papa's gators, going on rides at the fair, helping grandma pick everything that was edible from the garden, visiting the animals at the fair, and just spending time together.  We can't believe it's over!
Always with the mouth open.  Excited-mouth open, shy-mouth open, embarrassed-mouth open, nervous-mouth open.  Funny girl.
This little guy would laugh every time he fed the goats. I guess it tickled when they ate the food out of his hand :)
Can you see it? Excitement?  Mouth open! hehehe
And of course we couldn't forget to feed the hens...
And ride the horses.  Because we never get to ride real horses....
They thought this was the greatest ride EVER
He was so sad when we had to leave the rides.  But we were able to get him sidetracked pretty quickly with the free (oh how I love free!) Cozy Car area.
Filler up!
And last but not least we tried to get Clark family pictures while everyone was together.  My sister-in-law got some better pictures--with her nice camera, hint hint Lance--but this is what we got with ours.
Gosh, I swear every time I post I have a gazillion pictures.  Oh well!

First day!

Today was Brynlee's first day of preschool!  She was SO excited to go.  Got up, ate, didn't give me a hard time about getting dressed or doing her hair, and couldn't wait to use her backpack.  Princess backpack of course!
Her giddy self
She loved her new outfit that she got to wear and so did I!  Infact, I wish they made one in my size!  Although I wouldn't look quite as cute in it.  :)

We made it to preschool and Brynlee was all ready to say goodbye to Boston and me, when I told her that her teacher wanted the mommies to stay for the first class...she wasn't very excited about that but got over it pretty fast.  The poor girl just wants to be grown-up and do everything on her own.  And I'm having a hard time letting go!  Even with me and Boston there Brynlee loved her first day--and so did Boston!  He was in HEAVEN!  Thought it was the greatest thing ever!  I have a feeling next Tuesday is going to be a hard day for him :( --.  Although near the end she was asking when it was time to go.  Yikes!  Hope she can make it! It probably didn't help that one of her friends that is in her class was coming over to play after!

And one more picture, sorry!  Boston wanted in on the action too!  Although I'm not quite sure why he lifted his shirt for the picture.  Oh well, it's still cute!

We've made it another year :)

8 years ago today I married my best friend.  Best choice I ever made.
To celebrate we went out to dinner on Friday (at The Melting Pot. Mmmmm, we were so stuffed by the time we left but it was oh so good) and then stayed the night in Salt Lake.  Thanks to my mama for watching the kids for us!  We had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Our Outdoor Adventure

Lance had Friday off so we decided to make a quick afternoon trip to Mirror Lake in the Uinta's.  We walked around the lake, threw rocks in the water, chased little chipmunks, and of course the kids had to get their feet wet.  We had a great time and are definitely going to have to do it again soon!  It was so beautiful up there!
The kids got tired and they both wanted daddy to carry them :)
Then Boston told us, "I not tired of walking daddy"  and obviously he wasn't because he ran for a ways after that and walked more than Brynlee did!
