Mary & Joseph

For FHE yesterday we re-enacted the Christmas story.  Brynlee was Mary, Boston was Joseph, I was the angel, and Lance was the narrator.  The kids loved it.  Boston wasn't a big fan of his head attire that I put on him but Brynlee thought it was all wonderful.  She has had hers on her head almost all morning and had to have her baby Jesus craddled in a blanket too.  After we acted it out we let them watch it on the computer.  I can't believe how big they are getting.  Brynlee is so curious and has a million questions for us all the time.  And she goes into primary in a couple of weeks....and Boston will go to nursery.....Okay, I'm going to stop now before I start crying...we'll save that for another post :)

Do you like baby Jesus' craddle?  Yep, it's a barn :)

This one's for you Chelsey & Riley

My sister and her husband came up on Sunday to spoil my kids rotten.  And let me tell you, they definitely did a good job of that.  I might as well take all the presents back that I bought them.  Anyway, at the time when Brynlee opened this Raggity Andy she didn't pay much attention to it.  But then that night when we put her to bed she wanted to sleep with it.  See guys, I told you she liked it.  She just needed some time :) **She did this all on her own too.  We didn't try to con her into doing it**

Let's go to the movies!

Let's go see the stars!  Did anyone else sing that too?  Come on!  Haven't you ever seen Annie? Hmmm, anyway, on Saturday we took the kids to The Princess and the Frog.  Brynlee loved it and it even kept Boston entertained for most of the time.  I had really low expectations because of what I had heard other people say about it, but actually it wasn't too bad.   Brynlee was so excited to be watching it in the theater.  She had only ever been one other time about a year ago and loved it.  She still talks about it to this day.

A crazy busy weekend!

A couple of weekends ago we went down to Salt Lake to finish up our Christmas shopping and do a little sight seeing.  It was FREEZING but we still had fun.

Temple Square:

It was so cold walking around temple square that night.  Boston was not a happy camper of being all bundled up.  But they loved running around the visitors center and looking at everything.  And Brynlee just HAD to ride the "train".  So we park a few blocks away (we probably wouldn't have been able to find closer parking anyway, it was crazy busy) and rode the Trax.  The kids loved it.

Oakley, Ut with cousins:

4 kids in the tub.  Wow, that was interesting, but the kids loved it....until we had to start washing hair and stuff.  Then not so much :)  The kids had a blast playing together.  And check out all that snow!  We went to bed the night before to about 3 inches of snow and woke up to a good foot and a half to 2 feet of snow!  It was crazy!  There was so much snow!

Fun at home:

When we finally made it home the kids desperately wanted to go play outside...

They loved it.  And then we had to come inside to warm up and of course eat some snow.  My kids think snow is the best thing in the world to eat!

Phew, it was a very long, busy, fun filled weekend!

Date night!

Lance got some tickets to the Jazz game the week of Thanksgiving.  My mom took the kids so Lance and I could go on a much needed date! (thanks mom!)  We went to dinner, froze to death while we walked from were we parked the car to the energy solutions center--okay, I froze to death, it didn't seem to affect Lance all that much, nothing new there--and watched the game from our amazing 9th row, center court seats.  Too bad the game wasn't too exciting, we still had a great time though!

Not the best picture, I know.  But it's the only one I got!

In a Marshmallow World

Just some funny pictures of Brynlee and her afternoon snack.  She loves marshmallows (what kid doesn't?) and decided to be a little....creative with them :)

Oh how I love this girl.  She always keeps me laughing.

Princesses, Princesses, Princesses!

Lance's sister and I took the girls to Princesses on Ice Friday.  It was a huge hit!  Brynlee wont stop talking about it!  She loved that she got to dress up and go see them all.  She told my family all about it on Saturday at my cousin's wedding, filled the nursery leaders in on Sunday and she has told anyone and everyone else who will listen to her.  Althought she was very worried and almost in tears when they turned the lights on to have a short intermission because Cinderella hadn't come out yet.  She was pretty worried that she wasn't going to get to see Cinderella!

They were just a little excited.  Can you tell?

Favorite spot

I don't know what it is about our window seal but my kids just love to play in it, stand in it, you name it.  So I decided to document it :)

Brynlee with all of her animal friends

She made me take this picture of her "playing".  She's so funny.

A short break from playing to read with dad.  I tried to be sneaky but Boston caught me!

Cheerleaders, fireman and boring parents who didn't dress up, OH MY! :)

Friday morning Lance and I Brynlee decided that we would go to Grandpa and Grandma Clark's for halloween so we packed up and headed on our way.   Lance's sister ended up coming up with her kids too.  We had a great time!  We went trunk-or-treating (we had a little mix-up on the time and showed up late, but we still didn't do too shabby in the candy department.  Everyone who was left felt sorry for the kids so they were giving them handfuls of candy) and to a few other houses.  It was a little cold, nothing like those nice warm Florida halloween nights but we survived :)  It's so fun to see the kids all dressed up and enjoying themselves.  I just love it!

**Warning: Boston's costume had some good old reflector strips on it.....be prepared to shield your eyes!**

The fireman and the cheerleader.
When Brynlee first told me what she wanted to be she said a "shake pom"  I finally figured out that she meant a cheerleader :)  She's so funny!  And she was so excited to be a "shake pom"!  Boston thought he was pretty cool in his outfit too!

Brynlee and her cousin Maklee a.k.a. Minnie Mouse

Boston got a sucker whileTrunk-or-Treating and then was satisfied to just sit in the back of the truck and eat the sucker.
Brrrrrrr.....It was a little chilly.  How do you like Boston's hair blowing in the wind? :)

Trick or treating door to door

Boston enjoying the fruits of his labors :)
*I told you you'd have to shield your eyes!*

Pre-Halloween FUN!

Oh the fun of Halloween.  We carved pumpkins for FHE Monday with some of our neighbors and ate caramel apples (yummy, my favorite!) and other delicious desserts.
Wednesday Brynlee's preschool had a halloween party.  The kids had fun painting pumpkins, making ghosts, etc. and eating brain cupcakes!  The brain cupcakes were actually pretty realistic.  I tried to eat one....but I only got a few bits down before I couldn't take it anymore.  I know, I know, it's all in my head but I just couldn't do it!
Stay tune for more halloween fun to come ;)

Lance and Brynlee cleaned the pumpkin out.  Last year Brynlee didn't want anything to do with the slimy insides, this year she was all about it!
I was the masterful pumpkin carver.

The end product.  A bat!  The picture is not the best but you get the point right?!

Brynlee was so excited to paint her pumpkin and of course she wanted it pink.  She's such a girl.

The Jeep VS. Mr. Elk

Oh boy, what a fun night we had. We were on our way to Idaho for my cousin's wedding last weekend, which was beautiful by the way, when we were graced with the pleasure of seeing an elk with huge antlers standing in the middle of the road. We slowed down and watched until it finally decided to move off the road so we could continue on with our travels. Then about 2 miles later it happened. He was obviously on a mission, his mind somewhere else, because he didn't even see us coming (and it was dark so we didn't really see him coming either). He rammed right into the side of our car! Scared the living daylights out of me! I saw him coming our way about 2 seconds before the collision. I think I was about one heartbeat away from a heart attack! Luckily the only living thing that was hurt was Mr. Elk. The rest of us were fine, but the Jeep.....well Mr. Elk did a pretty good number on it. After the shock wore off and we check out all the damages - dented the hood and front part of the car including the bumper, smashed the back door in were Boston sits, the passenger door wont open, and we have lots of beautifully peeling paint, but of course I have pictures so you can see the damage for yourself - I made Lance drive back so I could check out the road kill. At first I don't think he thought I was serious when I told him to turn around so I could get a picture of Mr. Elk and see if he was still alive. But being the good husband that he is he did what I asked. Thanks for humoring me Lance! Sadly Mr. Elk didn't make it through the collision. Poor Mr. Elk
(Seriously?! If we were going to hit an elk we couldn't have hit the one with the huge antlers!? Sheesh.....)

What have we been up to?

Well let's see. Nothing too exciting, a lot of football and volleyball games in Cokeville, 4 Wheeling, sewing, a new baby in the family, my mom's birthday, Conference, and a few other happenings. How about I just tell it all through pictures since everyone knows that's usually the only part most people look at anyway :)

SEPTEMBER 30:
It snowed. Ug. I can't believe it is SNOWING already. How depressing.....at least it didn't stick around for too long. But as I type the snow is once again falling....sheesh. It's going to be a long winter.....
I hardly have any pictures of me and the kids so I had my sister take one. Not too shabby, eh?
We celebrated my mom's birthday over the weekend.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
Presents
My mom bought this fabric last year to make pumpkins out of them but never got it done. So I finally stole all the fabric and made them for her. They turned out pretty cute don't you think? I'm pretty proud of them, can you tell? Although they took me a lot longer to finish than I thought they would.
I helped my mom "arrange" them in her entry way. Don't they look super cute?!
It was cold, but my kids still wanted to go out 4 wheeling. We had to get them all bundled up.
Brynlee and Grandpa
Boston and Uncle Devin
Boston is 100% boy. Cars, trucks, tractors, trains, he LOVES them. You can hear the trains coming at my mom's house and the moment that Boston hears them he starts gibbering really loud and fast while walking as fast as he can (pointing the whole way) to the door. Then we step outside and watch the train go by. It's pretty funny.
My step brother Adam and his wife Shawna had their baby boy Austin on September 28. (Now we have Ali and Austin and Brynlee and Boston for grandkids on my side of the family. Kinda funny huh!)
Congrats guys!!
I can't believe Katelyn and Kalen are Seniors! So since they are we have been trying to go to some of their games. It's been fun!
(Katelyn is the one getting ready to spike the ball)
Boston and daddy (cuddling doesn't happen very often with our kids so we like to take advantage when they do!)
Go number 80!
Boston loved the games. So much so that he wanted to be out on the field with all the boys. Grandma had to hold him back :)
He loved playing with and looking inside the yard markers (or whatever they are called)
Playing with mommy's glasses. He thought he was pretty cool!
Brynlee came and found me before we left to go watch one of Katelyn's volleyball games and insisted that she wanted to wear this cowboy hat to the game. She's such a funny girl. But I have to admit it looked pretty cute on her!
