2022 KNIT WIT

I am a lazy knitter.
I want easy projects.
You won’t ever see me knit a sweater.
I seldom wear a sweater and thrift stores
Well…that’s where I find sweaters!
I don’t mind a small challenge or a learning new stitch.
BUT if pattern makes me fume and curse..and
I can’t get my brain around the instructions..
That project may never get finished.

Like this Penrose Tile Shawl!
My friend, who knits beautiful sweaters
Said she had some trouble with it,
She tries to help me but it’s just not fun!

Maybe I could pay someone to make this for me.
I really want it. I just 2 colors and yarns in it.

I love this Hippo for Christmas yarn By LoLoDidIt
I don’t have a knitted Christmas scarf.

And I found a very easy pattern.
One I have made several times, because it is easy
And very pretty when finished.

Here’s one  I finished
Looks amazing by my succulents.

This one is headed to my September beach vacation.
I like to sit in the patio in the evening
Sip wine and knit!

And this scarf is nearing its finish
It’s a DK weight so a bit heavier than
the fingering weight used in the scarves above.

The yarn is Pennies at Sunset color
And the pattern is Touchstone.

It will be oerfect for fall and winter.
I also have an extra skein, so my friend
who crochets amazing hats, is gonna make me a hat!

That being said…I better get those needles moving!

FLAMINGO SUNSET SCARF

My first knitting finish for 2022
Is the Panorama Scarf.
This took just over a month and that wasn’t knitting everyday.
It was a great Florida snowbird knit!

The pattern name is The Panorama Stole
and it’s a free download over on Ralvery,

I used a Fingering weight sock yarn called
Flamingo Sunset.  Florida is full of
Flamingos and beautiful sunsets !

Now back in OHIO
We are still feeling the chill of winter.
It brings the warmth.

All scarves look great with denim!

This one does not disappoint.

I knitted this once pattern before.
I barely posted a picture of it and a friend bought it from me.

I have more yarn to get to…and I wonder
What will be on my needles next?

YARNBYRDS

Have you heard of the traveling Yarnbyrds shop
owned by Robin Ritchey?
I have actually been in this RV a couple times
as it traveled around Central Ohio.

Great selections of yarns to browse!

What I didn’t know is that Yarnbyrds has a hidden gem tucked away
on private property near Easton Mall!

A wonderful yarn shop and retreat center called The NEST!
And its located just a few miles from me!

Let’s take a peek inside the yarn shop!

Cute accessories like these scarf magnets!
Two magnets hold the scarf in place when one is behind the scarf
And the pretty piece is visible on the front of the scarf

Conveniently located above the yarn shop  is the retreat facility!
It’s well appointed with a comfy sitting area for stitching.

A kitchen for making meals…but many great restaurants are
a short drive away at Easton Mall

The retreat rooms, sleeps 6-8 people, trundle beds seem reasonable in a small space.
There was another bedroom with a larger bed, but you have more peeps to sleep…
a hotel chain is within walking distance.

And Robin is such a gracious owner!

Please consider a stop at the shop or book a getaway retreat!
