Go Eagles

This morning I took Anna to the Ultimate Playzone. Its once of those warehouses made entirely out of moonbounces and they have 2 hour windows of "Free Play" that exhausts her. So basically for $7 I can buy myself an afternoon of peace.
Upon arriving I noted that I was the only Mom. Normally that place is full of moms looking at least as weathered as I am, but today every single child was accompanied by a coffee drinking, baseball hat, flip flop wearing father. I was torn between being impressed by all these dad's who wanted to spend quality time with their offspring, and frustrated that my own husband conveniently had plans to go wash down his boat.
I was lamenting this to one of our good friends, Zach, who was there with his son when he patiently explained to me that it's Sunday and the Dad's are here earning brownie points in the hopes that they can have the afternoon off to watch football. Rob couldn't name 5 teams that play for the NFL so it makes sense that this never registered with him.
But I'm a HUGE Eagles fan. Helloooo afternoon of sports.

Dutch Wonderland

We skipped work on Friday in order to squeeze some fun family time into what turned out to be one very busy summer. Rob and I took Anna, along with a few other friends and their kids, to Dutch Wonderland up in PA.
Anna had a blast. This is Anna, Henry, and Michaela is the red head on the guns behind them.
.
Anna's ALL TIME favorite ride. After informing us she was "very brave" and several discussions on why mommy and daddy have to hold on to her, we rode this at least 9 times. In a row. on "Spot" (her horse.) By the third time around she made friends with "Miss Dottie" the ride operator and waved to her every time we made a full circle. Miss Dottie told Anna she could stay on Spot as long as she wanted and didn't have to get back in line. Sucker.
Plasma scooters. We spent a lot of time here just having 'free play'. I swear, that park knows what they're doing.
Henry and Anna on the tractors.
We stayed from about 10:30 till 4-ish. When we left, she didn't even make it out of the parking lot. That's what I call a success.

New House

So, new house is officially ours. It's unreal. We love it. Our neighbors are the nicest people in the world. People keep stopping us on our street to introduce themselves. I think we're really going to love living here. The video is Anna showing off the new deck...here are some of the other pictures....

Moving Week!

We are FINALLY moving! We've been "mums" about it on the site because, well, just because but now that it's official, we're off! The past few weeks have been stressful (understatement) but now the house is all but packed up and we ship out on Friday.
It's a local move, we're just heading to a bigger house since we have seriously outgrown the one we live in (G's, Dz's can I get an "amen"?) and would like to be somewhere that doesn't have miles of concrete stairs. The townhouse has been good to us though. We have a lot of good memories here and we're leaving some great neighbors. :-)
Stay tuned for pics of the new digs. And hopefully once we get settled I'll be back here and updating more regularly. Whew.
By the way, Anna picked her new room all by herself and has announced that it (along with the rest of the house) should be painted pink.

Random picture updates

I have a ton of updates and some of them are video, so I'll get on that hopefully this week, but for now here's two of my favorites from the last two months.

Met up with some friends last weekend that I went to college with...unreal that we're all families now... also, awesome that we're all families now.
A typical "Anna outfit".

Still alive.

Dude. Where have the last two months gone? Okay, so updates...I'm not sure how much longer I can keep up this blog, to be fair, it's been like 5 years.
Let's see....
1.) Anna is potty training. We have created something called the "potty box" that contains stickers and prizes since the satisfaction of not going in your pants hasn't been enough to entice her. The potty box is where it's at, y'all. We're ALMOST there!
2.) We're MOVING! (Pause for the party going on in my head). In just 17 DAYS Rob, Anna, and I are relocating to what we refer to as our 'forever house'. We've been planning and saving for this for a while now so we're VERY excited. Pictures will follow once we move. We are keeping our townhouse since the market has tanked but we have found fabulous renters who are pumped to be moving in. Hooray for a 2 car garage!!!
3.) I guess aside from those two things not too much else... Anna has taken a serious shine to ANY musical. This week's favorite is Annie. Rob and I are treated to daily renditions of "The Sun will come out tomorrow" along with many other favorites. Anna has also gone full girly girl on us and insists on sleeping wearing her "princess shoes" normally along with a necklace and hat. She's also informed me on many occasions that she wants earrings.

Okay, so I'll add in some pics, but that should make us all friends again. Sorry for the hiatus, but seriously, I was due. ;-)

Princess Anna joins the family

We've basically just been doing our thing lately...I wish I could say we were more exciting but, well, I think it's pretty obvious that's not the case. Laura and I and a few of our friends signed up for a 6 week Zumba class (No photos or pictures of this will be documented). We definitely look ridiculous but the lady promises that you burn anywhere from 800 to 1000 calories per class, so what the heck. It's been ...interesting.
Speaking of Aunt Laura, she bought Anna some dress up clothes and now Princess Anna occasionally takes her meals with the Townley family. And we have caught her sleeping in full costume as well. (please note in the picture, that's her "beach day" hat and a feather boa I caught her hanging out in an hour after bed time).
As I'm typing she is making a case to be allowed to sleep in her new jelly shoes "Just tonight, Mommy".
I love this kid stuff. Cracks me up.
