dangerous eye trick by lady gaga
I get a message online that many teens today like the huge eyes of Lady Gaga, and they are trying to get the same look using online contact lenses with dangerous results.
Image © Interscope
No doubt about that... a lot of people adore both Lady Gaga's fashion taste as well as music. Some look at her as super crazy singer who hit stardom in an insane way while some look at her as the genius that climb into popularity through her unique fashion taste.
However, recently, in the video "Bad Romance", she appeared to have bigger and huge eyes. This has encouraged a lot of girls to try and follow her style but there is a warning from the doctors.
Dr. Marc Werner who is an ophthalmologist at Stahl Eye Center in New York City said that a contact lens is a medical device and must be fit to the patient’s eye. When it is not fitted properly, the patient risks everything from minimal discomfort to loss of vision related to a contact lens infection. Unfortunately, if vision loss occurs, it may be permanent. Our eyes are the window of the world, so we should keep them healthy.

dry eye treatment
Dry eyes is a condition that affects over 20 million persons in the U.S. alone. To treat the condition, many individuals have resorted to eye drops that may not necessarily help their condition. In fact, many artificial tears actually cause dry eye due to preservatives in the eye drops. So no matter how people try, they never seem to get relief. It is interesting to note that dry eyes can complicate surgical operations like LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) which is a type of refractive surgery for correcting myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
So, how can sufferers get relief? I did blog about The Stahl Eye Center sometime end of last month. Obviously that's the answer.
Doctors at Stahl Eye Center are very knowledgeable on the issue, as they have conducted detailed studies on Restasis for Lasik patients; which, by the way, is the only prescription medication that has been approved by the FDA to treat the underlying cause of some dry eye conditions. More over their doctors are graduates from top universities such as UCLA, John Hopkins, and Yale. Need I say more people?

technology cannot replace a good surgeon
lasik is correction eye surgery using laser. before you decide to choose lasik eye surgery for your eyes or vision correction, you must get to know the must-known things about lasik. you must discuss with your doctor whether lasik or other treatment is suitable for you.
now i merely understand that we have eight choices for corrective eye surgery. all thanks to an article in us news & world report entitled a lighter, defter touch-years of refinement have made laser eye surgery better than ever (michelle andrew, 25 february 2007). this article also discussed the different types of eye surgeries and the technology behind each one.
the article quoted glenn hagele, founder and executive director of the council for refractive surgery quality assurance, regarding the importance of surgeon selection when considering laser eye surgery. what he said makes a lot of sense to me: "no amount of technology can make up for an inferior surgeon". if you browse USAEyes.org website, you will find a lot of good information as well as a listing of certified eye surgeons who meet certain standards for postoperative visual acuity and patient satisfaction.
you will also able to get free information about conventional or wavefront custom lasik, all-laser lasik, and many more. then find a surgeon with a good record of vision outcomes and patient satisfaction.
i think it is great that someone has rated eye surgeons on quality of correction and patient satisfaction. now, if they could just do the same for all the other specialties! LOL

if only i can get corporate companies or individuals (ehem...) to grant my wish for the same event next year fuhhh! i would be on cloud 9 i tell you guaranteed!!!... but who knows right people. with all of the hardwork and all... wish me luck ok :)
and here's why i am so excited about joining IZEAFest: i have been with them for quite some time already... kaching! kaching!
first i joined payperpost some time in january last year. followed by socialspark in may, same year. then recently i hooked up with sponsored tweets about 3 months ago. they are all under izea. not just that, i also has been selected as one of their TEDHead's! crew. the group was formed as a way to share the excitement of the new izea insider's program which began in january 2009. i am glad that i joined these bunch of people. they are all very nice and helpful. this has been proven that even though i may not known locally, but i am well received there. well if you haven't already, you better do it now people. do get more info about it in my blog, or email me for further queries and clarifications and i will try my very best to help you as far as i could :~)
alright then, since i was not able to make it to IZEAFest; my only hope now is for nuffnang asia-pacific blog awards! i doubt that its one of the most talk bloggers' event of the blogosphere as well especially in the asia-pacific, mainly malaysia, singapore, australia and phillippines. i have already submitted my first blog post to get an invite to the event. my second one is coming up very soon. so see you all there!...

PPP is now on v4.0!!!
PayPerPost (PPP) is one of the more reliable paid blogging site for us bloggers. so far, i have been paid for the posts i have made for the past months. now, they have launched a new version of their system. PayPerPost v4.0 has gone live. it is quite different from their existing version 3.
in the new PayPerPost v4.0, there is no more waiting for blog approval and no advertiser-set price. i think this is good news for us bloggers. it means that you are the one to set the price as to how much you want to be paid per word you write and how much each link will cost the advertisers. you also can control which posts to accept for your blog. you just need to edit the blog details. another feature is that you can set the minimum advertiser’s rating. this is how many percent the advertiser has actually paid for the posts they reviewed.
i think the only downside is that you now need to have at least USD50 before you can cash out your earnings. you also cannot see other opportunities which are being offered. you can only wait until there is an open opportunity for you.
if this sounds interesting enough and you want to try it out, head to PayPerPost v4.0 now.

favourite perfume?
just wondering of what everyone’s favourite perfume is?
one of mine is red door revealed perfume by elizabeth arden, that was given to me by V for my birthday few years ago. elizabeth arden introduces this fragrance with the heart of a classic. deliciously pink. fun and flirty. the vibrant new floral fragrance was inspired by red door's evocative orchids and spirit of modern luxury.
the other favourite perfume of mine is f by salvatore ferragamo. this has been given to me for my birthday also, by my lil' sister. so if you smell me now, its the f! ;)
hey people... you too can talk about your favourite perfume at new perfume blog!

the day i am thinking about Scottsdale...
Although the weather outside has been rather gloomy, I can’t seem to stop smiling. Everything seems to be going according to plan and well, I have to admit that I do love the rain last night. There’s just something so hopeful and romantic about it.
The Universe has been kind though, to not rain on my parade on all the days that I have out-door thingy on my plan. I really hope that I will be ready to go for our next weekend outing. It is going to be so much fun!
I am excited and deliriously happy, but oh what I would do to relocate to Scottsdale right now! — buy a luxurious vacation home at Eagle's Pass Luxury Condo and spend the entire day lounging at the resort styled pool and spa. That is the ideal life!

my latest new experience
Guess what? I registered with a new emerging social networking website which I am damn sure it is going to rock in very near future. It is very unique in its own way and it is a source of ample of entertainment stuffs. It was just very different experience for me after registering. Well, finally you can jeopardize your stream of pulses in here in this consumer network website, Acobay. It rocks. So you all must be very much eagerly waiting for knowing what it is all about and it special feature. I will give you all a terse but instead of reading I would prefer you to feel the fun by clicking on the links.
This Acobay is still a beta, but it looks well matured. I guess no one believe it is a beta. The most important theme of Acobay is connecting people of same interest (they refer it as a ‘stuff’) from both ends of the world. The registration is as simple and the website responds quickly as unlike some other social networking sites. After the registration, you can add numerous stuffs such as mobile phones, destinations, books, movies, music, personality, or even your own customized idea. After adding stuffs you are now connected to the ones with same stuffs and thus inter connecting people. There are several other features that quite decent such as stuff idea, stuff map and so on. Explore the real heat before it gets hotter.
