megat is 'lansing' tonight...
like i tweeted earlier, megat is in his school right now getting ready for his school's year end concert tonight. i will for sure get myself ready shortly to be there too!
i suddenly remembered these:
those were megat's kindergarten concert costumes back when he was 6 years old. how time flies... and now after 5 years, megat is still gotta be chosen to dance in school when needed. oh well, i could say that megat really can/like to dance just like his mommy... hiks! ツ
alright then, i will post and update more soon... ta!

cupcakes: store bought or homemade?
in case you don't know, we (that's my kids and i) love to bake; even though, we don't often have time to do so. when we make cakes and cupcakes, we also like to make homemade butter cream icing. in fact, i can't even remember the last time i bought frosting in the can at the grocery store.
now this being said, just because we like to make frosting doesn't mean we are good cake decorators or good at frosting cakes.
here are our homemade cupcakes for my dear son megat's hari raya party in school today. forty-eight butter cupcakes with butter cream frosting on top. megat loves his mommy's cupcakes, so much that he asked to make them for the party. for a child his age, he has an amazing understanding of what it takes to make the food we eat, and i'm so proud of that.
this morning megat marched in the school proudly carrying the cupcakes, and all he could say over and over again was "my mom made cupcakes!". then i thought no mothers won't feel great hearing that statement from her children...
as for me, i believe store-boughts are stale, greasy or/and dry, empty of excitement and full of beurk.
at least when you bake your own you know what's in them! i would eat a handmade cupcake before i eat one bought at the grocery store. except for the ones made in cupcake shops.
one of those generally accepted ideas is the idea that the only acceptable treat to send to children's school/group parties is a homemade one. generally, only homemade treats (particularly cupcakes) are seen as a sign that a mother cares enough to send the very best. there is often a hint of contempt in the voice of anyone who talks about "those mothers who run down to the store and pick up store-bought cupcakes".
the first question to ask is why would any mother buy store-bought cupcakes when she could make them herself? the answer to that is not necessarily that she is too lazy or too busy for her child's party, although both of those answers are also possible ones. another answer to that question, though, is that anyone who has ever brought a child by a bakery case and seen his or her eyes light up at the sight of particularly adorable, fun, or beautifully decorated cupcakes or cookies know how nice it can be to offer a child a particularly special and professional decorated cupcake or cookie. let's face it: its a rare mother who can turn out a cupcake that looks anywhere near as great as a bakery cupcake. homemade cupcakes are often a little tilted or lumpy. their frosting isn't usually as artfully applied. often its just spread over the top of the homemade cake in a pretty unimpressive, unimaginative, unprofessional way. moms who want to send something very special may believe that letting the professionals do the cakes really nicely is the more caring and special thing.
the second question to ask, of course, is why would any mother make cupcakes herself when she could "just go by them". one answer may be that she enjoys baking from scratch. most moms, i'd venture, do not bake those homemade cupcakes from scratch, though. most use a mix and a can of frosting, which does kind of take the "homemade" out of homemade; but which still shows a certain amount of enjoyment in making something nice for a school or group party. many moms may make the cupcake-making event one to share with children, who can help. others may prefer to mix up the batter once the children are asleep.
besides the basic motives involved with each mother's preference there are also unspoken messages that homemade and store-bought cupcakes can send.
for example, store-bought cupcakes may say, "my mom can afford to buy 25 high-priced cupcakes from the bakery." store-bought treats can even say, "my mom cares enough about other people's children that she wants their mothers to know the batter wasn't stirred by a five-year-old with a cold. my mom is a perfectionist and wanted to send something really special to the party."
what do homemade cupcakes say? they may say, "my mom loves to make things for our parties," but they may also say, "my mom couldn't afford 25 bakery cupcakes. nobody guarantees that the kitchen in which these cupcakes were made would pass health codes. my mom thinks we, school children, care more that she made these cupcakes than about how special the cupcakes really look." at the same time, homemade cupcakes may say, "i'm so proud that my mom made these cupcakes."
in reality, cupcake-baking moms may have all kinds of other things to do but prefer to make the time for cupcakes. bakery-shopping moms, on the other hand, may be doing other nice things with their children and may simply believe that nice cakes from a bakery are a nice treat for a holiday party.
so children, which do you prefer: bought or homemade?
my advice: love and love big! stop being afraid of being “less than”, a bad parent or being rejected for loving the right person. BE BRAVE AND LIVE BIG!

no touchy!
if some of you people could remember megat's joke about THE tick!, well here's another that we encountered over the weekend~
it was like visiting relatives day. and when we were at a grand auntie's place, how excited we were to see one of my uncle's metal sculpture placed outside the house. so i quickly got my dad to snap a pic of me!
megat approached me soon after and said: "mommy, this one got no 'do not touch' sign plak..." hehee... oh, dear! LOL!

mother-young son' talks...
we (megat, who apparently already 11 years old [see, how times flies...] and i) were having breakfast this morning, when this conversations happened:
megat : mommy, chor (puteri) didn't get ready for school!
me: owh... she complaints that she is having stomach pain, must be because of period pain. see... susah kan jadi perempuan (isn't it difficult to be a female), have to overcome period and all(?)...
megat: ewwwww!!!...
gosh! how lucky am i that i didn't experience it for the whole of my life! yup! i am not lying. i have NEVER feel or come across the menstrual pain. but i can understand the pain, when i saw my darling puteri and most females that i know. their reaction explained it all... *phew* :)

the first!
as you all know, today is the first for everything:
the first monday of the year ~ of course!
the first day of schools for many malaysian school-going kids ~ its not that bad for both my kids puteri and megat though; as this is already the 11th and 8th year of schools for puteri and megat respectively. they managed everything themselves, except for megat was a bit slow because of this *glurp* hah! i just have to ensure that they woke up on time, and also to make sure that they had a proper breakfast before i send them to school.
the first working day for those people who work with mat salleh (caucasian) ~ this applied no matter you are malaysians are not. you were entitled for 3-weeks holidays, from christmas right up to the new year! *phew*
the first week of my new 'project 365'! yes this gonna be a new version that i am gonna called it "project 365-10". i left the previous one at week #9. but then i remember that i thought even though i do not have the time to update it via my flickr album or this blog, i still have the materials as i tried my very best to snap at least a pic a day. so along the way probably i will do it no matter what. too bad i didn't manage to do it. in some days, either i forgot to take pic in a day or maybe nothing at all in that week *blerk* then i decided to just quit at where ever i stop updating, and start a fresh new one for this new year... ngeh³ :))
so what about you people. is there any first for you today?

what a cool tuesday morning...
this nice cool weather always reminded me of our trip to cameron highlands about 4 years ago. it was the kids first trip there indeed. we were all especially megat was definitely damn excited, only He knew. no doubt we all lurve holidays!...
one thing that made us laughed that time was megat's bedtime incident. he was all ready to go to sleep when he wanted to pee. ok fine. then he went back to bed after he did his thing. and when he was about to close his eyes, he had to go to the washroom again! and guess what people. this happened again and again and again... i think that incident repeated maybe more than 6 to 7 times i tell you lol...
then finally when he wanted to go up again for the last time (if i'm not mistaken), he mumbled: "EEEEEEEEEE... what's this that i wanted to pee je!..." hehee... all of us laughed like hell :~)
ahh... finally i have some space to update this blog. there's still quite a number of blog post in queue anyway:
i could say that i'm always the last to update my blog about events that i attended and such. but arghhh... don't care lor... as long as i update my blog, no matter late or not, i always trust to better be late than never! *glurp*

of my way of gift giving etiquette and more...
i have just send megat to his classmate-cum-best friend nazmi's place. they invited him for iftar. its kinda first time for megat too to receive such an invite. he was sooooo damn excited since few days ago i tell you. even this morning when i was in parit buntar, megat kept calling and sms-ing me to discuss about it i.e. when to send him there, what suitable clothes to wear blah³...
5.30 PM SHARP nazmi already called megat of why he was not there yet ahh... kids! now megat was so worried.
alright, for me its ok to be about 5 minutes late or so. clocks are usually set between 5 minutes slow and 5 minutes fast, so arriving 5 minutes late should get you there "fashionably late!" being early to someone's house is rude (unless you're going out immediately after your arrival-then be there right on time). some people wait until the last minute to finish preparations for guests. giving your host(ess) that extra few minutes is usually appreciated. being more than 5 minutes late is rude. food may get cold, time with other guests may be interrupted, and/or the host(ess) may worry you're not coming or got lost.
but for megat's case, i guess its terribly ok cuz he was there for iftar. and his friend and his brother wanted him to be there early so that they could play together first. i opt to drop-by the local supermarket to get some chocolates for nazmi's family. thanks to grandma, luckily she reminded us about bringing some sweet gift.
since i was kinda busy, so no cupcakes this time like how i used to do! i.e. i baked some last week to bring them to kl. the most importantly, for redmummy and family who was terribly down since her son was a confirmed h1n1 victim. i made a quick visit at her place as soon as i reached kl that day. i would like to take this opportunity to thank ayu and rose for helping me! anyhow even if i won't make it to kl, i will still make an arrangement for my cupcakes to be delivered to redmummy as a gesture of thoughtfulness from me.

this pic is courtesy of redmummy
besides redmummy, i also made some extras for my cousin yaya because she accompanied me during the iftar session with nuffnang. plus some others... (you know who you are) including a good school friend of mine whom we didn't meet for obviously 20 years! alright alright... i'll type a separate blog post for this one soon cuz she's so special to me ;)
for me, gifts are part and parcel of my culture and are not only for birthdays and special occasions. gifts may be given to someone who has provided a favour, to someone returning from a trip overseas, or simply out of want. the cost of the gift is not nearly as important as what it represents — friendship.

so for nazmi's family, we just grabbed a cadbury classic collection 1930's - 1960's pack. i was not satisfied yet that time because no ribbon meh... so we made an another stop to buy a ribbon to be stick to the box *phew* by that time its already almost 6pm. you could see megat's sour face lol... but it was just for a while though...
and on the way to nazmi's place, i reminded megat of the do's and dont's while he's there:
and on the way to nazmi's place, i reminded megat of the do's and dont's while he's there:
- to greet all the members of the family especially the elders first by shake and kiss their hands; it is best to see if a hand is extended or not first.
- wait to be told of where to sit.
- table manners are continental.
- you will be expected to try all foods at the table.
- expect to be urged to take second or even third helpings. it is best to eat less on your first helping so that a second helping is possible. this shows your host you are enjoying the food and are being taken care of.

of p/s...
i text this to both puteri and megat when the bus i was boarding from kl about to leave:
mommy boarded transnasional bus at 4.30 pm, frm puduraya. c both of u later!
lurve, mommy!
p/s puteri ada basuh baju?
and here's megat's reply:
K and p/s chor y.e.s. :-)
hmm... looks like something has to be taught here. or else i'll ask him first of what was he meant by that. or whether he knew of what was it mean. i know, sometimes not all acronyms are understandable by certain people especially kids. i did that just to make sure that they could learn. i know they will! :)
according to the free dictionary p.s. (sometimes i wrote it as p/s) or postscript means a message added at the end of a letter, after the signature [late latin postscribere to write after].
so basically p.s.s. means "post scriptum scriptum" which is the complete formula of the shorter "p.s." (written after what has been written)
if you mean an additional postscript, than it is p.p.s. : post post scriptum. nevertheless, sometimes i would write both of them without any dots: ps and pps.

ants do rest and sleep people!
it was just the other day when we giggled to megat's reaction to 'awoken ants' as per him hehee...
the story: he was about to place the dinner plate near the wash basin, that he saw some 'sleeping ants'. nonetheless he still placed the plate there. then the ants went doinkkk!!! [while megat shaken his head and some of his body parts] as though they awoke when megat disturbed them rotfl... that was cute! owh, how i wished that i captured that moment in a video.
"didi (弟弟), where got ants sleeping!" puteri told her didi.
well, since i was not sure myself, i quickly got some help from ms google after i finished my meal. and to answer megat, yes, apparently ants also rest and sleep since they worked very hard =)

of simpsonize me!...
this is too cool. thanx a lot to julian for recommending this. if you go to http://simpsonizeme.com you can upload a photo and make yourself a simpson. i thought you people would enjoy this. everyone needs to share their pics too. mine is as per attached—
now why not you try it too people. maybe you will look as good as me hiks!... =)
here's puteri:
and megat:
apparently i found another site the simpsomaker. but i didn't try it. i asked my kids to try it instead while i went for my exercise this morning. i dunno you, but looks like they prefer "simpsonize me" than the latter.

write with both hands...
we were having our lunch at one of the pizza hut outlet in ipoh on last friday, when puteri teased megat for eating the soup by holding the spoon with his left hand. ya... megat is a left-handed. so we started to talk about it while waiting for our pizza. then mama asked megat of what we called a person who can write with his/her both hands.
"both handed!", megat answered seriously.
as usual, we were all laughed like hell!!! hehee...

butterfly catcher(?)...
do you know what is this thingy people—
well for those who dunno, its actually a hair styling device. eventually we used that to create an inverted ponytail (or also known as an inside-out ponytail).
follow these three easy steps:
- gather the hair into a low ponytail
smoothing hair, gather it all back into a low ponytail near nape of neck. fix with hair band, tying more loosely than you would with a standard ponytail. tip: use a band that matches your hair color. - create a hole above the band
using the hairstyling device, insert it in the hair just above the hair band. twist the hair in the loop to make it easier to thread through in the next step. - thread hair through the hole
thread the twisted ponytail through the hole at the front, pulling it out the bottom with the hairstyling device. slide up the hair band to tighten for a strong hold.
guess what people... i wanted to create this hairstyle for puteri this morning. when megat saw me putting the hairstyling device in puteri's ponytail, then he asked me, "mummy, why are you putting that butterfly catcher thing in chor's hair?"
"butterfly catcher?!!", i asked him back.
"yaaa...", megat replied in his serious tone.
puteri and i looked at each other and laughed like hell. well sorry darling... so i explained to him of what that thingy is actually meant for.
"o ok!" hehee...

of coping with our kids' schedule...
megat has quite a number of homeworks to do yesterday. ya... he goes to a chinese school, so what would you expect right. he even already got homeworks on his first day of school. at the same time his yesterday's schedule was kinda tough as well.
megat came back from school at 2.25 pm. but i tell you what... by the time we reached home around 2.50 pm, he was still hungry! he ate rather a lot as soon as he reached home. everyone were kinda surprised, cuz its not that i didn't bring him his lunch earlier. end up we found out that he shared his pack lunch with some of his friends. well actually we were not that surprised also though.
the same thing happened from last year. actually megat already started to attend extra class in school then. but that time it was once a week only. we knew that megat's friends were not lucky enough like him. their parents didn't send them any food during lunch break, in between their extra class. they just make do with extra monies that their parents gave, and they have to survive themselves. so i as a concerned mother, packed lunch in two plastic containers instead i.e. one for megat, and another for his friends to be shared among them. the idea was for megat to have enough lunch. since the extra classes this year are from monday to friday, megat has been warned of not to share his pack lunch. its the matter of economics as well you see... but megat, being a noble boy i guess, still shared his lunch that i packed for him. oh boy!...
i wonder whether his friends' parents aware of what has been happening. or they just make dunno about it. in fact i wanted to buy a loaf of bread at a nearby mamak restaurant yesterday morning after dropped megat at his school, when i bumped into megat's senior noraini and a chinese girl. when asked, she told me that she was buying a roti canai and wanted to eat before the school hours start. oh dear... poor noraini. looks like she didn't eat her breakfast at home. when i gave this a thought, i know that my kids are lucky enough to have a proper breakfast at home before going to school. alhamdulillah... but on another thought, if i can wake up as early as 5am to start my day, why can't other parents do the same... argghhh!!!... this is all actually the matter of wanting to give the best for our youth.
so after megat had his extra lunch at home yesterday, he watched the tv for a while while relaxing. then he started to do his homeworks. he took a break for a while in between because he was too tired. while from 8 to 9.30 pm, i had to send him for his taekwondo class. he has his dinner after the class. he tried to complete his homework then after. but he was already too tired after quite some time. so i had a deal with him to let him sleep first, and he has to wake up early this morning to finish-up his homework.

pity megat. but what to do. if we as the parents don't lead him on doing things in the right path, how is he going to cope with his schedules well. anyhow, i did help megat to do some colouring while he was doing his other written homeworks early this morning hehee...
"ma... please make sure that you put back the colour pencils at the right place", once megat told me.
wahhh... banyak songeh plak dia since i already helped him *big grin*
so as for today, i told megat that he can get a quick nap after he comes back from the extra class at 2.25 pm. then he has to go back to the school about two hours later for a sports practise *phew*

of packing a healthy and cheap lunch
today is only 4th of february.
megat is only in year four this year.
upsr exam is only two years away from now.
no matter what the circumstances are, megat and his batch (year four) have already started to attend extra classes after school hours with effective today, organized by the school' PTA. take note that megat is schooling in a local chinese school. so as for now he will be going home only at 2.55pm from monday to wednesday, while on thursday and friday is at 2.25pm. parents are allowed to deliver their kids lunch during their second break i.e. when the normal school hours end (1.35pm for monday to wednesday and 1.05pm for thursday and friday).
so as for me it's not a problem at all to bring megat's packed lunch to him at those hours. normally it would be like that anyway, where i would fetch puteri right after megat anyway. so it's definitely fine for me. and the best thing is we do not have to be worried for food poisoning, as the food is home-made. home-made food are more healthy i tell you. if not why on earth we could see quite a number of chinese mothers do the same. in fact one of them who always chatted with me when we bumped in to each other in school, told me that even she do not trust canteen food. she prefer to cook her kids' packed meal herself. besides that, we can teach our kids to save their pocket money since they already bring packed meals/lunch from home.

no matter what the circumstances are, megat and his batch (year four) have already started to attend extra classes after school hours with effective today, organized by the school' PTA. take note that megat is schooling in a local chinese school. so as for now he will be going home only at 2.55pm from monday to wednesday, while on thursday and friday is at 2.25pm. parents are allowed to deliver their kids lunch during their second break i.e. when the normal school hours end (1.35pm for monday to wednesday and 1.05pm for thursday and friday).
so as for me it's not a problem at all to bring megat's packed lunch to him at those hours. normally it would be like that anyway, where i would fetch puteri right after megat anyway. so it's definitely fine for me. and the best thing is we do not have to be worried for food poisoning, as the food is home-made. home-made food are more healthy i tell you. if not why on earth we could see quite a number of chinese mothers do the same. in fact one of them who always chatted with me when we bumped in to each other in school, told me that even she do not trust canteen food. she prefer to cook her kids' packed meal herself. besides that, we can teach our kids to save their pocket money since they already bring packed meals/lunch from home.
so as you could see from the above pic, that is the school' side entrance gate. that is where i usually waited for megat. and the missing grill are meant for us parents to pass anything to our kids, vise versa. kewl huh?!!...
i tell you what... isn't it good for you people to adapt this packed lunch ideas for work., no matter whether you are single or married. lunch is the meal where most people end up scarfing down whatever fatty, greasy food they can find. but it only takes a little pre-planning to create a healthy, energy-boosting meal, at little cost to you or your long-term health.
step 1
create a healthy shopping list, with easy-to-pack, nutritious foods in mind. opt for low-fat granola, dried fruit, nuts, low-fat meat slices, whole wheat bread, fresh fruit and deli tray-sized bits of fresh carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and sweet baby carrots, eggs (you can hard boil or create egg salad sandwiches with vegan mayonnaise or olive oil mayonnaise), and peanut, soy, or sunflower butter.
step 2
strategize the night before. it's best to pack more than you think you'll eat. that way you won't run out of the food you need to keep your energy up throughout the afternoon. plus, you'll have a little extra for mid-morning and even a quick breakfast on the run or during the commute.
step 3
include three components to make a meal: a main, snack and side. a salad, sandwich or whole grain wrap is a good choice for a main. throw in homemade trail mix (see #4) or granola for your snack. add in a salad with your sandwich, a container full of bite-sized veggies, or cubes of various fruits and honey for your side.
step 4
make your own trail mix. homemade trail mix can be customized to suit your taste, and can be created as a low-fat alternative to the store brands. mix together some sesame sticks, soy nuts, sunflower seeds, a few dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries, cherries, blueberries and almonds. the result is a snack that's tasty, low-fat and packed with protein and antioxidants.
step 5
try new variations on old standbys. there are hundreds of variations just on a whole wheat wrap. try a garlic or basil flavored flatbread or tortilla. brush on vinaigrette dressing instead of plain old mustard. add almonds for a protein boost, or just switch up your standard wheat sandwich bread with a whole grain roll. that way you'll never get bored and be inclined to stray from your healthy DIY route.
step 6
pack your items in reusable containers. bags formerly containing your snack mixes, veggies and sandwiches have only one place to go after you use them: the landfill. do this for the environment, while you revamp your lunch routine for yourself.
step 7
eat with co-workers in moderation. don't completely cut off lunches with colleagues. these are good morale-boosting sessions (or venting sessions, whatever the case may be). be a team player. you may be overdoing it when your lunches out really start to show up on your account balance and your thighs.

on another note, kay came over to my place yesterday evening, for us to visit the late kak fairoz' mother. i think probably that time her (kak fairoz) brother was already on the way back to kuale from klia, to bring back her remains. read more about her in today's news here, here, here and here.
"may she rest in peace"... amin.

THE tick!
megat made us laughed earlier today at queensbay mall, in penang! well read on to find out of what had happened—
our last stop before we went back home was to order some pizzas to be tapau-ed. so while waiting for it to be ready, we walked to memory lane shop located just a few steps across.
then megat told me calmly while pointed to our right, "mama looked! the mall here has adidas, and tick also got".
i was like puzzled— "tick?", i asked.
"ya... tick!", megat repeated me. by this time, puteri and i were already looking at each other, then we both moved our view to the shop next to adidas'. we really can't help it then but laughed-out-loud hehee...
so can you people see of what we were laughing about? :D

i spot something similar to "the corporate game.com"
alert! alert!
have you tried the corporate game by lipton? i didn't bother about it when i saw the blog ads. and when i happened to browse KNizam's blog earlier, i was kinda surprised to see the screenshot of the game. you know why?

because i thought i have seen my kids played one of the suite life of zack & cody's online game similar to that; and it looks like this—
so what say you people. did lipton copied zack & cody's concept?

teaching kids the true value of money
last two weeks i brought megat to a local bank to save some of his raya money. its been like four years i practice this with him— we count the raya money together, brought half of it to be saved in the bank and i let him keep half of it. when we were at the bank, i taught him of how to write the form himself. besides that he also took his own number queue and met the bank teller himself. i guess this way megat can learn the process of saving/using money along the way. what when i heard the bank teller had a quick conversation with megat and gave him some encouragement on saving money— " haa... bagus adik simpan duit dari kecil, senang nanti nak belajar bila besar. spend, jangan!" wow... thanks a lot dude!
well since this year he got quite wholesome than the previous years, i managed to convince him that we kept 3/4 of it in the bank. while megat shall keep the balance. like last year, from that money that he kept himself, he bought some hot wheels toys, books and such. so far alhamdulillah... megat understands of how important the money is that we shall start to save it from young.
teaching kids about money involves several aspects. first, kids generally learn about the face value or denomination of money. kids learn that money can be exchanged for goods, such as when a parent might explain that in order to get a toy that the child may see in a store, or on TV in a commercial, they (or you) must exchange money for the toy. a little later on usually, kids learn that when they receive money, they can save that money up to buy something they want. they may not have enough money at the time, but if they save up money they receive, one day in the future they may be able to buy that certain toy or item.

unfortunately, this is where a child’s education about money sometimes ends, even into adulthood.
the “real” value of money, in essence, is that it can represent future opportunity and freedom. money should not only be thought of as a vehicle to purchase things, but as having value to allow one to make choices in life that one would otherwise be unable to make without it, have the means to take care of oneself or family, and have the freedom to make choices that being in debt does sometimes not allow us to make. often, we are constrained by financial obligations and all of those things we must have and save up for, that we do not realize we are limiting opportunities and the freedom of choice when it comes to our lives that financial freedom can bring us. not having enough money can limit our job choices, where we live, and what we do with our lives.
how do you teach kids about the value of money ?
- start them saving early—give them an allowance starting at a young age, and get them used to saving money—just for the sake of saving.
- teach them not to save just to spend—if they save money for things, instead of saving for their future, it will be difficult for them to realize the freedom money can give them in the future. making them save a percentage, and not taking every cent in the piggy bank to buy a new toy or game, is a good idea.
- stress the importance of choice and freedom—saving money for education, experiences, etc., as opposed to materialistic things. it’s not always about things. sometimes having money in the bank allows you to do things you would not be able to do without money.
- use real life examples—explain that if they buy the new ben 10 toy, they won’t have any money left. this will limit their choices in the future.
- let them make mistakes, but point them out so they learn from them. it’s OK to let them make mistakes, but try to teach something when they do.
- teach them to be generous—all the money in the world won’t buy friendships, relationships, or love. while money can be an important tool, relationships with people are more important in the grand scheme of things.

friday's blessing
as mentioned earlier in my baking blog, megat and i baked some cupcakes last night, to be given to his classmates as a raya treat. megat was so excited about it. so am i. more over i was so eager to know of how would the kids react. so i let megat brought my oly to school with condition that i would come during recess time to take it back.
so these are the results—
how glad am i to see the happy faces of the children. group pics been taken by megat's class teacher lause lim. according to megat, he was a bit shy to be in the pic though. take note that megat is still in school. his school hours will be ended at 1.05pm.

megat's name
megat finished school late today at 3.30pm. he has to attend extra class after school hours, then co-curriculur activity where he's with the basketball team people ;) when i came over at around 1pm to give megat his lunch, he and some of his friends were so glad to show me this--
its megat's student id for his school's library. if you happened to know chinese language then you should know megat's full name. so go figure! that word 'megat' is not on a wrong alignment occay?!!... of course it has been edited by me dammit :P
and this one is megat's recent pic taken earlier today around 4+ pm. megat's schedule on a thursday is kinda tough. so his looks speak for him. he has a taekwondo class (twice a week) at night that finished at 9.30pm. so normally after reached home and taken his quick shower, he would doze off in a split second... poor megat... besides this, he also has 3 times a week' mandarin tuition class to attend, scouts on wednesday, and mengaji [translation: learning to recite the quran rigorously in its native language, arabic] on almost every nights with his pom (po-po). but anyhow thank god that megat understands that those are for his own good ;)
