the past few months with baby wendell

our little baby is five months old.  these months have gone by rather swiftly.  sure, some of it i don't really remember because of the sleep deprivation and the shingles.  but, over these months, i have witnessed everyone in our family fall in love with wendell.  he really is such a sweet little person.  now, it is true that he is not a great sleeper but i honestly think it is because he doesn't want to miss out on any "people" time.  even when he hasn't really slept all day, if he is being held, he is quite happy.  he loves to hold anyone's attention.  and he takes in everything with those big big eyes.  

something i don't recommend:

getting shingles.

let me tell you what: it is not a good time.

that's all we need really say about it, but i wanted to have some documentation on the blog.

Easter 2014

I have got to say...we kind of crushed it on Easter.

these kids have never met a popsicle that they did not like.  i love this pic of carlyle...the hand in the pocket just kills me.

i always think it's a bit awkward to have your photo taken by someone you don't really know and i think you can see that in my expression in this rather blurry picture of us.  but the moment is worth remembering because it was a dinner out at a fancy-shmancy place for our ten year anniversary.  

we all love being out in the sun and watching everything turn green (well, as green as things get in colorado)

last easter

yes, i know this was a quite a long time ago.  but it was a great weekend and i want to remember it.  the neighborhood easter egg hunt took place for the second year in a row.  we invited some friends from our small group to attend.  it's always fun to introduce our friends and family to our neighbors.  the people that live on our street are so special.

early easter morning is when i found out i was pregnant.  for this reason, it was truly a joyful day.  the billings and the rengers came up for brunch.  the kids loved getting decked out for church.  i must say, we all looked pretty good.
