First Snow of the Season

We had our first snow here in Pagosa last night. I think we are supposed to get some more tonight and maybe tomorrow. It was only a skiff of snow, but this was enough to get Kylee soooo excited. Both kids were out playing in the snow at 8:30 this morning. Crazy kids!!

Holy Crap, I Made a Post!

Pardon my language, but this is the first thought that came to my mind. I have also made it a year without posting on my blog. I will admit to taking the easiest route to doing things: aka. posting pictures to Facebook on IPhone.

Kurt was gone in Moab dirt biking with his dad this past weekend so the kids and I stayed busy. We visited Chimney Rock Farms and pet the animals, went on a wagon ride, and then picked a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

We then ended the day with some friends over for a movie night. The kids had a blast playing in Papa's tent while eating snacks and watching Madagascar 3. What a weekend!!

Gone Fishin'

So Kylee decided to try her hand at ice fishing today. One of her friends had a birthday today where he invited everyone to come out to the lake behind his house to fish.
Kylee kept playing with her pole and looking into the hole to see if she could see any fish. Just when everyone was starting to pull their poles out to go inside, we were all in for a surprise. Kylee actually ended up catching a Rainbow Trout on her pole.
She was the only little girl there to fish, and she ended up being the only one to catch something. She was pretty nervous about her fish at first when it was flopping around everywhere.
But her friend showed her how to hold it and show it off to everyone. Kylee was so proud and excited that she carried her fish home in the car and then carried it all around the house and fed it cookies.
You can only imagine the size of her eyes when I told her to say good bye to fish because mom was going to clean it and eat it tonight for dinner. Oops!

Kylee was not the only one with firsts today. Kurt would not touch the fish so I filleted it, gutted it, and cut it's head off all by myself for the first time. I am looking forward to barbecuing it tonight. Yum!

Idaho

I know, I know...not another picture of my dang horse, but this is one of my favorite things to do when we are in Idaho. There was a day this week that it was almost 50 degrees with no snow. Perfect riding day and a much needed break from the kids.

Kade's New Love

Since we're going to Idaho we let Kylee and Kade open their presents last night for Christmas. Kade fell in love with a present I never thought he would really like. He just lights up and smiles and starts jumping whenever he sees his big stuffed dog. Funny boy!

Christmas Lights

This year we did not put up any lights on the house, but when you have this house as your neighbor is it even worth it? How can you equal this? They even have a Christmas ferris wheel that spins by their front door. My pictures do not give justice to this house.
