So Kylee decided to try her hand at ice fishing today. One of her friends had a birthday today where he invited everyone to come out to the lake behind his house to fish.
Kylee kept playing with her pole and looking into the hole to see if she could see any fish. Just when everyone was starting to pull their poles out to go inside, we were all in for a surprise. Kylee actually ended up catching a Rainbow Trout on her pole.
She was the only little girl there to fish, and she ended up being the only one to catch something. She was pretty nervous about her fish at first when it was flopping around everywhere.
But her friend showed her how to hold it and show it off to everyone. Kylee was so proud and excited that she carried her fish home in the car and then carried it all around the house and fed it cookies.
You can only imagine the size of her eyes when I told her to say good bye to fish because mom was going to clean it and eat it tonight for dinner. Oops!
Kylee was not the only one with firsts today. Kurt would not touch the fish so I filleted it, gutted it, and cut it's head off all by myself for the first time. I am looking forward to barbecuing it tonight. Yum!
