Anthon is 6!
Kirk did a great job on creating the under the sea idea. Anthon's response? "Dad! It's a masterpiece! You've never made a masterpiece before!"
My masterpiece.
Just a couple of examples of why this boy is so darn sweet. A few weeks ago, I was sitting at the computer paying bills or something, and the kids were working on a project at the craft table. After a while, Anthon brings me this beautiful little heart he'd made and gave it to me. "This is for you Mom." "Thanks, sweetie, I love it!" "I made it for you because I like you, and I love you, and I think you're a great Mom." Followed by a big 6 year old boy hug. I love this kid!
A few days ago, Anthon wanted to go to the toy store to spend some of the money he'd saved. He bought a small toy which he then played with for a few days. Then, he comes to me and asks if we can go back to the store so he can buy another one. I told him he didn't need another one, and he said, "Oh, it's not for me, Mom. It's for Erilyn. I told her I'd buy her one." Which he then did. With his own money. Sweet brother!

My sweet baby girl
I can't believe my baby girl is 3! I miss her babyhood already. Kirk was definitely inspired while giving her baby blessing when he blessed her to be a joy to those around her, because she has been nothing but a joy! We love her so dearly. We can't help ourselves! She is sweet, and fun, and brave, and friendly, and good at sharing, and infectiously happy. I have so enjoyed watching this girl grow so far, and expect nothing different in the years to come. We love you, Erilyn!
Erilyn is 3!
I think she was a little afraid of the legs on her cake because she wouldn't get any closer to it to blow out the candles! Luckily she has a big brother to help her blow. Once we took the legs out, she made peace with the cake.
Silly kiddos using balloons as kitty tails.
Our newest tradition--the birthday balloon pit. A huge hit!
This is Erilyn unwrapping one of her presents. It nearly drove us all crazy. As you can see from the small pieces on the table, she went about it very methodically, and, more to the point, SLOWLY!

Me at 8 months
This was a spur of the moment thing on the kids' part. Kirk was about to take the picture, and they both jumped in and stuck out their bellies. So cute! Erilyn calls it my "big, HOOGE (huge) belly!"
A few random memories...
Anthon had a blast at this year-end Buddy Day party. Erilyn and I volunteered to help with some of the games and we had a blast too! Although Erilyn was a bit miffed that she didn't get to walk around with Anthon. Anthon was kind enough to come say hello to us several times, though. Love you buddy!
My bathing beauty. She has LOVED baths since day one...literally.
Feeding animals at a library event. She LOVED the baby goats who would lick the pellets right out of her hand! She couldn't get enough. It was really fun. We love our Lubbock libraries.

Three cheers for Kirk!
Seriously. This guy is amazing to me. With all the stuff he had to put up with at home (a deathly ill pregnant wife and mother of two was only the beginning...), I'm amazed he was able to graduate at all, let alone with TWO degrees and without losing his full tuition scholarship! You're the greatest babe! I'm so proud of you!
