Back to scrapping..

..and card making :-)

Now that Toby's birthday has passed, I must begin to think about the dreaded C-word - Christmas!! Time ticks by so fast these days that the festive season will be upon us before we know it - I have lots of cards & presents to make PLUS I hope to sell some cards & other items to raise funds towards my £2500 target for Cycle Jordan (see my other blog - Journey to Jordan for info)

I am also lucky enough to be attending Scrappers Paradise again next month :-D a whole 48 hours or so of scrapping (no sleep, sleep is for wimps!! :-) and I am sooooo looking forward to seeing everyone again - I have some scrapbook pages planned & there will be lots of classes and challenges as usual so I hope to be very productive!

Pop back soon to see what I have been making.....

Making Time

First an apology - sorry sorry sorry, I have been neglecting this blog & life has gone on rushing past at break-neck speed as per usual!

So, an update is well overdue.....

...hmm, what to say first? It's all good so I'll just type as things come to mind :-) First of all, my exam results are in and I PASSED!! "Blitzed 'em" as one of my colleagues put it :-D I needed a mark of 50 or more to pass, and I got 69 in my Tax exam and 73 in Business Law!! I was (& still am) a very happy bunny after getting those results.
So that means I am 5/14ths of the way to full qualification! I have already enrolled for the next 2 exams courses & I start back at college next weekend.

What else? We have been on holiday - Turkey as usual and it was HOT HOT HOT. The apartment was perfect & I think we will soon be booking to go back for next year.

And.... I have gone slightly crazy & registered myself to take part in a charity cycle ride next year.......300km!............over 4 days of cycling!!............in Jordan!!!
If you'd like to know more about this (and leave me an encouraging comment or 2!) please take a look at my web diary here.

All this has led to me (and my hubby) wondering how I am going to fit everything in - and that includes a bit of scrapping time (I haven't given it up completely!), given that apparently there are still only 24 hours in a day not the 35 or more that I was beginning to hope for! So I have come to the conclusion that I simply have to Make Time, Multi-task where possible (my web diary will make good journalling for my Cycle Jordan scrapbook ;-) .... and Make Lists, I'm good at lists!

Seriously though, I can be very productive when I need to be, so I am just going to look at it all as a challenge - and then I know I will do it, I love a challenge.

My Mojo's missing!

It happens to all of us at some point or another I guess, but I can't find my mojo anywhere :-(

I've had an enforced day at home today - sick child, cue 1 day off with no pay :-( so I thought I would make the best of it & do some scrapping........... mojo had other ideas and has disappeared......... I have made 20 Christmas cards though so all is not lost but please, if anyone finds my scrapping mojo please send it home - it's too little to be out by itself!!

Hanglar & Stanglar Blog Candy!

Many thanks to my SAD mate Tash, whose blog pointed me towards the fabulous blog candy on offer here. If you love the H&S stamps (and who doesn't??) go check it out......... you only have until 30th June, so be quick!

Tagged!

I have been tagged by my good friend Jac , OK she actually tagged me about a week ago but I have been so busy at work still that I havent been on here to add a new post until now!

Here goes:

What was happening 10 years ago? - Umm, let me see....Dean & I had just bought a flat together, so we would have been decorating I guess......we went on holiday to Turkey (and are still going back to the same area every year, we like it that much!) and we were starting to think about getting engaged and starting a family.

5 things to do today - I need to make a Golden Wedding Anniversary card for some good friends of ours who will be celebrating next week, cook tea, tidy up, decide on an outfit for my Summer Ball on Tuesday and a friends wedding next weekend, then later on I hope to do a little bit of scrapping :-)

Snacks I like - I am trying to eat healthily and lose some weight so although I love chocolate I havent been eating any lately (I am an all or nothing kinda gal, cant just have a small piece, it has to be the whole bar!!) My favourite snack at the moment is a fruit salad that I get from our work canteen - it has pineapple, mango, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and kiwi - Mmm, lurve the taste of that kiwi ;-)

What I would do if I was a millionaire - Goodness only knows! To be honest its not something I think about much (probably just as well since I dont buy a lottery ticket so not even in with a chance of winning!!) And I know a lot of people say it, but I definitely wouldn't give up work - it's such a big part of who I am...... Most likely I would do all the boring & sensible stuff like paying off my mortgage & putting money away for Toby's university days....then a really good holiday somewhere I have always wanted to go, such as Egypt, or Canada or Maldives or a cruise or Dubai or ............... you get the idea!
Possibly I would think about buying a bigger house but in London I dont suppose we would have much left from a million would we!

Places I have lived - well, I have always lived around the South East London/North West Kent area including (not neccesarily in this order) - Blackfen, Swanley, Petts Wood, Dartford, Welling, Lee, Abbey Wood - and I know I have missed at least one out but I cant remember where it was (and I was so small I dont even remember being there!)

OK, so now I have to tag 5 of my friends.............eeny, meeny, miney, mo........ Tash, Val, Jo, Fae & Charlie - Tag, You're it!! Sorry Ladies! ;-)

Leeds Castle & cards

Okay, so I didnt get back on the PC yesterday - but when I uploaded pics of my cards to the computer this afternoon I realised that I had some good pictures from our visit to Leeds Castle 2 weeks ago which I hadnt looked at yet.

So I thought I would share a handful....

All afternoon at Leeds Castle I tried to find a peacock willing to display its beautiful tail feathers so I could get a good photo, but they weren't interested! Perhaps it was too hot for such silliness, but right at the end of the day, just as we were leaving the grounds we finally saw a male in the middle of his courtship display :-) He must have been completely smitten by the Hen because he was strutting his stuff and shaking his tail feathers like there was no tomorrow.

Unfortunately for him, the Hen couldnt have been less interested!!

We had a lovely day out, got lost in the maze, wandered around the grounds for hours and did the tour of the castle too. Entrance tickets for Leeds Castle & grounds are valid for a whole year, so we will definitely be back during the summer.

Finally, I will leave you with the piccies I promised yesterday - I was really pleased with the way these cards turned out, I hope the recipients like them as much as I do!
