Dad was like mentioning whether I could choose not to stay in a Hall... but told him it was stated in the agreement that I have to stay for at least a year. Well, as you know, the only child thing and all that? Well yah... I was like "travel from buona vista to home everyday?" and he was like "Okay what..." then he continued, "you could drive..."

MY GOSH! Was that a MAJOR hint?!?!??!?! if it was, I'm exhilarated! haha...

anyway, i replied "what car?" =P

then it ended cos I reached camp. haha.

gonna continue talking tomolo... see what other details i can dig out. I was planning to say I'd stay in the halls on alternate days. so i can go back home. If there was really a car involved, then yeah!!! haha... i can go home as and when i want to. hehe... =)

Kenny, the Right Job for you will allow you to be:

Disciplined and Creative

You, more than others, are ready to pave the road to success. You want to excel in your career and can rely on your developed sense of order to help plot your course. In fact, it is probably your efficient and practical approach that colleagues admire you for. But because of that, they probably scrutinize you more than you think.

Despite the fact that your work ethic applies to a number of jobs, you need to find the right job if you truly want to reach the top of your career.

From that, we can tell you value being conscientious and trustworthy. Your exceptional sense of responsibility and attention to detail makes you the person coworkers run to when there's an emergency.

I GOT THE SCHOLARSHIP OFFER!!!

But on the down side, I don't have the option of taking Biomedical Sciences, only Biology as a major... sigh.

But still, the MOE official i spoke to yesterday said that there could be a change in policy so I could still major in Biomedical Sciences depending on the Ministry's policies... I do hope so!!! =) and yah, the concentration only occurs in year 3 so there's like... another 3 more years for the ministry to change its mind!!! =D

Another funny clause that clashes with my plans: To stay in the hostel for at least 1 year!!! haha... well... I'll save on transport for 1 year. Keong!!! bunk in with me!!! haha... I can't imagine having a super dirty, messy roommate... EEK!!! -_- and they'll pay 75% of the double-room rates for me. I do hope I either get a single room or a double room shared with a very nice person!!! haha...

okay... other things involved
1) $5,500 per annum
2) $1,000 computer grant (once-off)
3) Fully-paid tuition fees
4) Up to 6 months of full allowance for overseas exchange programmes (inclusive of airfare!!!)
5) Salary in NIE

How's that? I'M SO EXCITED!!!

Kenny, your belief system is best suited to religions that value salvation from sin

How do we know? While you were taking this test, we compared your religious beliefs against 10 of the world's most common religions. Your score shows that you share core beliefs with religions that offer to deliver you from sin or save you from evil.

Some religions assert that all people are born with original sin and must seek salvation. They also maintain that a savior has come to save humankind and that you can find salvation by accepting this as the truth. You are attracted to spiritual groups that believe salvation is possible and encourage you along that path.

fine. but Dad says I don't have the financial power to do that.

He even asked me to not start thinking about this.

Well, but I did mention something he said.

"First, have a dream, then a vision, then your vision would become a reality."

I'm probably still at the dream stage.

By next year, it had better changed to a vision. and by Uni, a REALITY.

I was telling him the need for me to visualise my life path. I can't imagine myself 10 years from now being a nobody with no vision and no ambition whatsoever.

That's why the SCHOLARSHIP. That's why the CAR.

Fine, I sound spoilt talking about something as expensive as a car. But what's to stop me from making it MY REALITY?

He spends $2000 a month on his car, he tells me.

Fine. but it's new. and it's a 2-litre car.

What if I got a 2nd hand 1-litre car?
1) Car Price:The car price would probably be a-fifth that of new cars. $25k.
2) Insurance: stays the same.
3) COE: What COE? (It's already included in the price of the 2nd hand car)
4) Petrol: Probably $100 plus a month? (compared to Dad's $200 plus)

argh.

I need to see a financial planner.

Car car car....

That is what I've been REALLY thinking about lately.

My scenario:

I work from 7am till 5.30pm daily. I drive to work (My Dad's car) then he drives home.

But lately, I don't even get a lift in the evening from him! sheesh. Just because he wants to "go jogging".

then fine, I walk to the bus-stop by 5.45pm and probably wait till 6pm just for a seriously crowded bus. By the time I get home? it's 7 plus pm.

It's freaking draining to that practically everyday. Yes, I noe many people are doing the same... yah, but still, it's damn inconvenient! Look at the time I get home! and no, I don't need someone to nag at me at how lucky I already am. sheesh.

What's to stop me from seeking greener pastures?

Fine. YS to SK distance is still pretty okay, but imagine in university? from BV to SK is simply crazy! I'll take more than 1 hour to get home! Maybe even 2! from the horror stories I hear from seniors and ex-classmates, I shudder. Imagine crowded buses even at 7pm in the evening?!

Mom says they (my parents) can always go all the way to Uni to fetch me in future and go for dinner together. Right. But to do this ever so often?!

Moreover, people who stay far away would probably stay in the hostel. But I'm an only child for goodness sake. What would I be doing in a hostel when I have a perfectly fine personal room at home?

That's why I came to my conclusion.

GET A CAR!
