My Clique

I'm getting very tired of certain friendships. Not in the negative sense though. just that it's getting tiring to do all the work and not everyone in the clique bothers to take the initiative to help.

And it seems to be the same person doing the last minute cancellation. when in the first place, some people never bothered to reply even if the sms was received.

If you happen to be one of the people reading this. Please do so in future.

Can you please take the initiative to call one of us instead of taking the back seat ALL THE TIME?

It's getting very frustrating.

But still, I give you the benefit of not being chastised by me directly.

The group is in serious lack of dynamism and initiative. and I hope everyone can contribute instead of taking this clique to be just fun and laughter, full-stop.

I believe in this clique and I seriously do hope our friendship lasts.

Another point I wanna bring forward.
PLEASE DO NOT SPEND BEYOND YOUR WALLET/PURSE.

Everyone knows I have a problem with lending $$$ to others.

Moreover, we seldom meet.

So my moolah can get returned only like months later?!

And to add to this point. Please take the initiative to settle monetary issues upfront and not have me ask you for the money?

I hate it when I have to be "thick-skinned" and ask "Can you return the $$$ to me now?"
and then I get teased for being miserly and yada yada and get the discriminating look and all...

Please!

I really don't want $$$ to be the cause of the breaking up of our friendship as many other people's friendships have broken.

Please make me the LAST person on your list to lend any $$$ from if ever (unless there are REALLY good reasons...)

So please make sure you bring enough moolah to spend. Esp when you know you're going for an outing.

Or maybe we should set some clique rules. =P

An Irritating Woman

I was going to take the LRT to Sengkang MRT yesterday. So i had to walk to the station.

The lift to the station just arrived and this woman walked in.

I ran, smiled and held up my hand in appreciation of her holding the door.

She didn't press the button for the 2nd level.

And I was huffing and puffing after the running, trying to catch my breath, while looking at my cellphone, listening to my MD at the same time.

And she had the nerve to say in Chinese, "Never say thank you...", with a SMILE somemore!? O.o

Wah. at that moment i just gave her a weak unsincere smile. I rolled my eyes at that too.

How thick-skinned!!! goodness.

waving to her and smiling was already enough by my standards. and this freaking irritating woman dared to say something like that.

i just stomped out of the lift and went into the LRT station, half-embarassed.

But after much thought, what's with this woman anyway?

I should have simply said "Thank you" and waited for a reply. If she just smiled back, I would have gone "Never say 'You're welcome'?" with a smile also.

Sickening.

Wednesday, January 07, 2004

it's been a greaaaaaaaatttttt day. The office was generally cheerful though it's mid-week wednesday! haha.

yeah. everyone's left the office so it's only me. that's why i'm typing now. wow. just noticed that this is my first entry for the year 2004!!! left bonn in the library.

atoh left particularly early today. 5.30 on the dot (or so it seemed, haha)

then doc d left after that. wow. talk about punctuality man...

and yes. i did say i wanted to write a little something about my best friend, Justin. so here goes.

Justin

I met Justin sometime in Sec 1 in Victoria School. Kinda saw him around and "knew" him through James, my classmate. I remember the nerdy black thick rimmed specs he wore. and most people whom i asked about him simply said he was some loner or nerd.

oh well. my impression began to change when we actually got to know each other better in sec 3 and 4.

Chinese class. I hated that. haha. and well, Justin would always be singing something by the corrs and i would do the harmony or back up. and so, i felt we kinda hit it off pretty well. haha. I remember driving the late mr chiang nuts everytime we sang. He would always make us stop. yes, we did stop. but crazy raymond would always get us started again.

and well. my popstar fantasies/aspirations/ambitions came into play and the first person i approached to form a band? Justin. and well, members of the band kept coming and going cos it just didn't work out pretty well. Justin stuck thru it all.

eventually, we wrote some really cheesy songs. (actually, i think that was me, boyband-overdosed)

and I actually submitted one of them for a CHINESE songwriting competition. (my gosh. of ALLLLL competitions i had to join a chinese one. sheesh.)

we did manage to get the crowd moving but the song was kinda weak at the lyrics part. haha. it was the fastest song among all the competitors! sheesh. how cliche can chinese songs be?!

okay. not to digress.

yeah. both of us entered the army and Justin got into COMMANDOS. look at me. I'm a puny service medic.(okay lah. not that puny. i do work out in the gym k? just that i'm getting a little pudgy cos i haven't been watching my diet. haha.)

and yah. He actually became a medic too! but a commando one at that. our courses kinda overlapped and we caught up with each other.

and now's the present.

what i really appreciate about justin is the fact that i never have to initiate a conversation with him. especially when i comes to keeping in contact. he simply just sends me some christian message and i reply.

i kinda feel guilty at that too. but yah. i'll try harder.

oh well. i do hope and pray that our friendship lasts.

Thanks, Justin, for all the good times we had!

(i'm beginning to get goosebumps. haha. really mushy really mushy!!! argh. but believe what you read. I treasure my friendships k!)
