Christmas Breakfast

I came home to Seattle for Christmas. It was a very low key Christmas with just 2 of my sisters home with me (we missed the rest of the family!). We had fun cooking and shopping and hanging out at home together.
Christmas morning breakfast was a hit, of course. My mom made up this recipe she called it "Reindeer Pies" - a potato vegetable patty served on sautéed spinach and a roasted tomato. Christmas Braid was served too - always a fave.
It was a perfect Christmas morning. Presents, breakfast, Church, vid chats with family far away, more presents, more relaxin.

Like a fine wine

My mom had a birthday today. I'm so glad I could be home to celebrate with her all day long! She's the best. I feel so lucky.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Glitz and Pizza / San Clemente

While my parents were in town for Thanksgiving we went down to San Clemente for a little Christmas street party of sorts. Santa rode down the street on top of a fire truck, there were free carriage rides and hot chocolate stands. We had fun walking around and stopping to listen to carolers sing. The best was the pizza we had for dinner. Worth the wait in the line!

Thanksgiving Weekend

My parents came to town this weekend! It was great! Jen hosted Thanksgiving dinner. It was low key and perfect. We missed the rest of the family though.

We went on a walk through the canyon while the turkey was cooking:

There she is. Pretty and delicious.
Those sweet potatoes were the best I've had.
We saw a movie after dinner (tradition). Muppets was hilarious!
Pie time/ looking for Black Friday deals.
I could eat her:
There's a reason we call him Mr. Safety: (and could you just die over that blondie in the back)
Low rider:
We celebrated Jen's Birthday on Sunday morning. Ebleskivers!
This girl knows how to tell secrets. She whispers in your ear and it's the sweetest thing. I almost cry every time.

Tanner James Birthday

Tanner turned 10 last month. That kid is such a stud and the sweetest guy you'll ever meet. He makes sure to hug me every time I come over and before I leave too. It makes my heart swell. I stopped by after work to wish him a Happy Birthday. After dinner Tanner picked going to Farrells for dessert. A kids dream land.

APC + Anthropologie

I miss making quilts, it's been too long. This APC/Anthropologie Quilt line reminded me of my love for quilts..and all things cozy. It's time to start sewing again.

Carla Lani

My Aunt Carla's birthday is October 29th. On her birthday my mom sent out this collage to our family along with her birth story written by my grandma in a journal. I loved reading my grandma's descriptions and details of her first daughter Carla. I miss my sweet Aunt Carla! I remember when she died this past February my friend Julie left a comment on my blog with this quote by Harold B. Lee. I love it. And it seemed fitting to share as we are in a month dedicated to being grateful!

"Thank God for one more day! For what? For the opportunity to take care of some unfinished business. To repent; to right some wrongs; to influence for good some wayward child; to reach out to someone who cries for help -- in short, to thank God for one more day to prepare to meet God"

Halloween at the Bournes take 2

I had to see these guys before they hit the streets to trick or treat.
We are best friends.
The Bourne gang.
I made this sign for the Halloween mystery dinner.
I kinda died over my sisters family of robbers. see it here.

Halloween at the Bournes

I crashed Halloween party time at the Bournes one Saturday. I couldn't resist. Corn dogs, sugar cookies, tiny rootbeers, and cute babies!

Look at these cool masks they made out of magazine clippings..
Are you jealous we get to wear shorts and tanks in October?

I die over these two cousins...

Jen and I went to Aleisha's annual witch party! I always love her parties. I had her do a guest post on Attend.

Disneyland in October

Last friday Annie and Lezlie were in town and spent the day at Dland. I met up with them after work and a few more friends joined. Mickey's Halloween Party kicked us out of Dland at 7pm so we spent the rest of the night at California Adventure. The 75 minute wait for Tower of Terror was worth it. ..it always is.

I love them...
