Glitzy Easter Ideas

Hi there dear friends!!! I'm very excited to show you my place setting ideas that I will be using this year to jazz up our Easter Celebration! Glitz Designs patterned papers inspired me to make everyone a mini basket full of candy and a cute little place card that will add some color and make each spot at our table special!
The basket is sitting on a little doily cut from Glitz Design Hoopla Frames patterned paper using Papertrey Ink's Parisian Doily Die. The basket is made using Glitz Design Hoopla Dots paper and Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores Cardstock.
I also used a vintage cream doily to decorate the edges of the basket. I embellished the basket using Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist Twill ribbon, Hawaiian Shores Grosgrain ribbon and a Prima Fairytale Rose.
I made the place card with a folded piece of Glitz Design Love Nest Floral Paper. I stamped the Glitz Design Maya Bird onto Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist paper using Colorbox turqoise ink and I added a little jewel from Kaiser Craft. I mounted the bird onto another doily I die cut using Papertrey Ink's Doily Details collection. I added the name and embellished with Prima and Recollections flowers.

I also made a Spring Banner for our celebration using Glitz Design Hoopla Dots Paper and Glitz Design Love Nest Stripe paper. I hand cut the banners and added a scalloped border. I die cut the Banner Borders that grace the top of each banner with Papertrey Ink's Banner Border die.

I added Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist Twill Ribbon and Recollection's Roses. I die cut the circles with Papertrey Ink's Limitless Layer's Collection. I used American Crafts Flat Thickers to spell out spring.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Collection: Dot and Frames:
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Collection: Stripe and Floral
Glitz Design Maya Bird Stamp

Other supplies:
Papertrey Ink cardstock, ribbon, dies; Prima and Recollections florals; American Crafts Thickers.

These Glitz design papers are my favorite and I am so excited that I was able to use them for my Easter celebration! I hope I have inspired you to make some goodies for your Easter celebrations and I hope you grab yourself some of these amazing Glitz Design Papers. They are so versatile and perfect for any project you have planned!!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very Glitzy Day!!

Sticky Business....

Good evening my friends. I have been a little under the weather today, but my heart is full none the less. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year. When you look around you see the promise of the new growth and the warm weather that is to come. Renewal. Not only in those things around me, but also in my heart! Thanks be to God for his Indescribable Gift!

With the emergence of Spring comes the joy of making Easter Goodies! This weekend I thought it would be fun to decorate some paper mache eggs I found at Michaels. I thought it would be fun to decoupage some vintage hymnal papers onto them and it was a relatively easy process.

Here's the finished project! Don't these sweet little egges decorate my basket perfectly?
I started with some paper mache eggs, modge podge, and torn squares of paper.
I coated the eggs with modge podge. (You may want to use gloves for this process...it's pretty sticky business, lol!) I adhered the paper squares with the modge podge and it works well to coat the paper with modge podge as you go. The hymnal paper was nice and thin and molded to the egg quite nicely.
As you cover the egg with the paper, saturate the paper with modge podge and use your fingers to smooth the paper onto the egg.
Decorate your finished eggs as desired.
I used some Prima and Recollections roses and some Papertrey Twill Ribbon.

Such a fun and easy little project with fantastic results!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Remember that You are Special and I appreciate you!!

Hi there dear friends! I hope you are having an absolutely amazing Friday!! I have had the best day ever!! I had several dear friends over for Little Bitty Bird Card Class and we had a ton of fun!! I haven't laughed this hard since the last time we all got together!! Thanks for making my day ladies!!!

These are the cards we created and the ladies did an amazing job with them!!
Do you think I got pictures of everyone's creations?? Where was my head? I will have to take better pictures next time, that's for sure!!!

Here are a couple of pictures of the ladies crafting though! (Linda and Lisa...I don't know where I was but I didn't get any pictures of you either!! I definitely will do better next time!
Now there is definitely a story behind this picture!! These two had one side of the table to themselves, and poor Linda was looking for a stamp. She looked up to find that Melinda and Jessica had all the stamps, markers, ink pads....you name it, it was piled up between the two of them...lol! They were definitely "Stamp Hogs" tonight!! You go girls!!! Thanks for the laughs!!
I had so much fun with all of you!!! I hope to see you all again very soon!!!
I am already planning the next class as I type this!!!

Thanks for sharing in my joy tonight!

Creating your own Embellishments

Good Morning dear sweet friends!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Today I am going to share one of my favorite past-times while paper
crafting...Creating my own embellishments! I don't know about you, but buying all of the embellishments from different manufacturers adds up quickly. I find that creating my own embellies makes my Little Red Scrapbook kits go farther and it is amazing how many cards I can make using my scraps!!

One of my favorite ways to make my own embellies is using my die cut machines. I have a cricut and a big shot and I use them both a ton. I have found in the past weeks, however, that I have a die addiction. I can't get enough of them! From Tim Holtz and Sizzix to Papertrey Ink, I have found the most wonderful dies!!! I have also found that using regular household items works well too! Cereal boxes are the best form of chipboard in my opinion!!! Stay green! Re-use and recycle! I also love to use old jeans! We all have those around!

In this first card, you can see what a pair of old jeans can become:

I used my big shot machine and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die:
I frayed the edges to add visual interest:
I layered the flowers and attached them with a brad. I also stamped some leaves using Papertrey Ink's Year Of Flowers, Mums.
I made a second card based on the Wee Memories Saturday Challenge #47-Spring is near, Green is here, using another favorite technique of mine, hand-cutting patterned paper to embellish your projects.
First, I stamped the doily image three times and embossed with clear embossing powder and then inked the edges with Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment which is from Papertrey Ink's Year Of Flowers, Morning Glory, I cut out several florals from the patterned paper.
I added a bird, some twine, and a pearl and in five minutes, I have a colorful and unique card!

Thanks for stopping by today!!
I hope these ideas motivate you to make your own embellishments!!!
Have a wonderful day!

Little Red Scrapbook Reveal

Hi there dear friends! Happy Spring Break!! I am totally enjoying my time off!! Isn't is amazing when you work full-time, how much you enjoy days off!! I certainly don't take my time for granted these days for sure! I have been cleaning like a crazy woman, I sent a card to Paper Crafts magazine for their August Go To Sketches edition, and now I am getting ready for the card class I will be teaching on Friday. I still feel like I have a ways to go in finding my crafty mojo....what a long haul this has been. Never the less, I had some wonderful papers to work with this month in my Little Red Scrapbook kit and I truly had a blast creating with it!!

I knew I was going to have to do a layout of our beloved Lily. I just love this picture of her! In the photo at the left, you can see just how small and cute she was when we first got her. What a sweetie she was!!! We miss her tremendously!
I had a lot of fun with the Stamp Add-on kit this month. Doily stamps are all the rage and these were perfect with the Echo Park Papers!
I used my PTI Banner Builder Dies to make the Banner. There's just something about red polka dot paper that makes my heart sing!!! I used it in the next layout too!

I have so many pictures of the kids with their Daddy. He was the fun one when they were growing up. Mom was the disciplinarian, but when dad got home the fun began. You can see how happy Heidi was in this photo!!
I loved all the embellishments that Sara and Rachel included in this month's kit!! Soooo much fun! I also had fun cutting out some of the patterned papers and made my own embellishments as you can see in the layout below! I
Poor kids! I always had the camera in my hands and still do as a matter of fact!!! The look on her face totally shouts out "I really don't want my picture taken today!" Isn't she the cutest!!!! Look at those eyes!!!
This card was a fast and easy thinking of you card! You just need to have a few of those around to give to friends and loved ones! I think I'll be making a few more to replenish my stash!
I hope you were able to get your hands on this month's Little Red Scrapbook kit!! It is truly a ton of fun to work with!!
Have a wonderful day!!
I will be back later with a little LRS tutorial!!
