Friday at Last!!!

Wow! What a long week! I'm so hoping to catch up on life this weekend...we'll see!!!
I totally have to get myself in gear and start deep cleaning rooms out in preparation for Graduation... and speaking of Graduation...I still have to get announcements ready to mail...ok....deep breath...one step at a time!!! I can do this!!! If you're anything like me you have to stop a minute take a breath and take a pause. Be thankful for the little things in the day and don't let the cares of this world take away your joy. So for today, I'm going to make a list of those things that bring me joy and remind me that the Lord is in control!!

1. A soft, gentle kiss from my husband!!!
2. A random text from my kids!!
3. The birds singing first thing in the morning!!
4. Children's laughter as they play in the park.
5. Flowers blooming in the spring.
6. Green Grass!!
7. Taking a Walk with my husband!
8. Teaching a scrapbook class!!!
9. Sunshine and blue skies!!
10. When Charley lays at my feet...what a sweet pup he is!!!

Thanks be to the Lord for little Blessings!!!!

Something else that brings me joy are memories of my mom!!! I miss her tremendously!!! Here is a card I made in memory of her...
Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog!!!
I wish you a wonderful day full of little blessings!!!

Little Red Scrapbook April Reveal

I am finally getting my Little Red Scrapbook work up on my blog. Sorry it has taken me so long...I am so far behind! It just seems like it is one thing or another and I just can't catch up these days! I hope things get back to normal soon!!!

It is getting so close to graduation and I am feeling very compelled to scrap everything Benny!
I can't believe the ceremony is a month away, yet sometimes it just can't come fast enough for me! I am so surprised that I am not sad to see my baby graduate at this point...I guess the Lord is preparing me for being completely empty nested. I really thought I would be a basket case, but that is not the truth at all!!! That is a totally amazing fact coming from a woman who completely has completely immersed herself in her kids!

This first layout is of Benny when he was 5. The kids would always do Lone Valley School in the summer for a week. The grounds at the school are totally amazing and Benny loved climbing the trees. I just love this picture!! What a cutie he was!!
Just before we left Colorado, Benny got into Roller Hockey. He was pretty good and even won the Best All Around MVP award!!! Gooooo Benny!
My dear Friend Lea Lawson took Benny's Senior Photos and she did an amazing job!!! We did not take this sweatshirt for Benny to wear in his photos, but she saw it and asked him to put it on. These pictures are so totally him! How did she know???? Benny is one who definitely marches to the beat of his own drum!!!
This last layout contains my personal favorite photos! Lea totally captured Benny and I will forever be grateful. With him leaving for AIT in August and who knows what after that, I am so happy that we have Benny captured in photos....actually I am relieved!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
I hope you have a glorious day!!

Falling Behind and some Shabby Chic Love

Wow!!! I can't believe a whole week has gone by since my last post...totally not like me!!! I didn't feel well last week and it just doesn't seem like I have been able to catch up!! There is just so much to do and so little time!!! I will just have to rest in the Lord and rejoice in Him and the rest will eventually all come together!!!

My sweetie and I took a much needed break and drove into Yellowstone National Park on Sunday. It was a perfect day in every way!!! We saw quite a few animals and it was just so relaxing!!! I really needed that!!! Here are some pictures from our trip:
These buffalo took a nice leisurely walk right by the car!!! How amazing is God's Creation!!!
I just love it when we get to see Big Horn Sheep!!! Such a treat!!!
This is Lava Creek, one of our favorite resting spots in the Park.
Charley was so excited...he just couldn't get enough of all the new smells in the park...what a cutie!!!
Here's my sweetie and the pups....I am blessed indeed!!!

Here are some pictures from my latest creation which will also be a class at Simply Fresh Arts:

Little Red Scrapbook Sneaks!!!

Good morning my friends!! I hope this morning finds you refreshed and ready for the day!! I am feeling much better today after a bout with the flu yesterday!!!! Once again it is snowing and we are under a winter storm warning, but warmer temperatures are on the horizon!!! Hooray!!!

I have some sneaks from April's Little Red Scrapbook kit!!! I have to admit that I have my son on my mind!! Graduation is right around the corner and I want to have as many completed layouts of him as possible!!! These papers are perfect for any kind of layout, but I found them to be wonderful for masculine layouts!! You know my son, no frills.....so here are my sneaks, and they are very simple and plain indeed!!!!

My dear friend Lea Lawson took Benny's Senior photos and she totally captured him in every way!! These wallets were so fun to scrap!!!! Thanks Lea!! You're the best!!!

Thank you for stopping by I pray the Joy of the Lord fills your heart and soul today!!!!

Queen Bee and Scrapping the Music!!

I hope you get a chance to join in the fun this week at Scrapping the Music!!! The song is Footloose by Kenny Loggins and there are so many possibilities with this song!!! Since graduation is right around the corner, I chose to do a senior photo layout of Benny. The lyrics, you can fly, seemed very appropriate for this layout! I also added a couple of quotes: Be the change you want to see in the world and Don't live down to expectations, go out there and do something remarkable!!

I thought I would try some Queen Bee papers by Pink Paislee and do something non-traditional with them. Just because the line is named Queen Bee doesn't mean you can't use it for a masculine layout! I really like how it turned out and just in case you are interested, You can find the entire Queen Bee line at Simply Fresh Arts!!
I did add a butterfly to the layout...to support the title, but other than that it is a pretty masculine layout. I did get the seal of approval from Benny, and that makes me happy!!

Benny's Senior Portraits were taken by my friend Lea Lawson!!!! She did such a great job and she totally captured him!!! If you are looking for a photographer, I wholeheartedly recommend Lea!!! You can find her at Elle Photography or on Facebook. She's the best!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
Wishing you peace and joy,
Kristii

Beautiful Music and Celebrations!!

What a glorious morning it is!!! As I was sitting at the kitchen table before sunrise checking the mail on my computer, I heard the most beautiful song. No it wasn't on the radio, it was the birds chirping outside!!! It was such a heavenly sound!! You have to understand, here in Montana, about every other day or so, we are under a winter storm warning which means those sweet little creatures have taken cover and aren't out singing their songs. This morning's music gave me hope that we may see the sun today!!! I hope you see the sun where ever you may be and celebrate in the hope that we have each and every day!!!

Speaking of celebrations, Mother's Day isn't far away and so it's that time of the year to make cards to honor Mom!! Of course, I celebrate my mom in my heart and spirit!! I miss her so very much and it is great therapy for me to make cards to honor her!!
Supplies:
The Girl's Paperie Patterned Papers
GCD Homespun Chic Inspiration Cards
Bazzill White Cardstock
Prima Florals
Buttons
Ribbon
Martha Stewart Punch

The Homespun Chic line is so retro and fun and just perfect for Mother's Day cards!!!I just had to pair the Inspiration Cards with The Girl's Paperie Papers, which are my new favorite!!! Such an easy card to make!! Just layer the papers, add a punched edge, flowers and ribbon and you're all set!!!

I hope this inspires you to create a card for your mom!!! You both will be glad you did!!!

Happy Creating,
Kristii

Winter or Spring...that's the question!!

Good Morning my friends!!! It's very wintery this Tuesday Morning. We are under a winter storm warning again, but I don't think much is going to come of it. It's just cold and blustery. I so look forward to warm spring-like weather!! I hope wherever you may be, you are experiencing some warm temperatures and seeing the first-fruits of spring!! Winters are so long here in Montana!! If I didn't have to work today, it would be a great day to stay home and stay in my jammies and scrap!!! Maybe that's what I will do this afternoon!!

Farm Fresh Card #3

Happy Thursday Morning!!! Here's another card in the Farm Fresh Set for those of you who are making these at home!! This card was so much fun to make!! Who could resist the stamped sentitment???
Supplies:
OA Farm Fresh Stamps, Journaling Cards, and Patterned Papers
Bazzill Cardstock-Red
Red Ribbon
Black Ink

Start with a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base. I used white cardstock for this one. Round the bottom edges. Cover card base with 3 x 5 1/2 inch piece of Hay Barn patterned paper and 1 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch Farmhouse paper. Round the bottom corners of the Farmhouse paper before gluing. Cut a piece of red cardstock to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 and use a decorative punch on the bottom edge. Cut a piece of root cellar paper slightly smaller than the red cardstock (approximately 3 1/8 x 4 3/8) and punch the bottom edge and layer the two together. Glue in the center of the card. Adhere a ribbon and bow over the seam. Find the Farm Fresh Journaling Card with the sheep on the front and stamp the sentiment on the front. I inked one half of the sentiment and stamped, then wiped my stamp clean and inked the other half and then stamped the rest of the sentiment on the next line. Cut out two more sheep from the Farmyard paper and glue in place and add a flower sun and button.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!!!
