The Weekend

Hmmm.....what to blog about today?  It is Memorial Day Weekend and while everyone is out camping we are home cleaning,  No fun, but the house needs it.  It has been a super crazy last 6 weeks.  Richard was gone for 3 weeks, during that time I started my performances with my singing group One Accord.  We performed for about 3 weeks, then it was the last week of school with field trips, parties, etc. Well now it is summer vacation and the kids probably wish they were back in school because we haven't done anything fun the last two days. Sometimes life is just that way isn't it.
When Richard was gone the kids had a Friday off school, so I told them at the beginning of the week if they cleaned their rooms then on Friday we would have a surprise.  I was amazed how hard they worked.  I think Adam spent most of Thursday in his room cleaning, but he got it clean and they earned their surprise.  I took them to Sacramento to a little amusement park called Funderland.  It is for kids about 3-10, so it fit just perfect.  They had about 10 rides and since it was a weekday we could buy an unlimited pass-so they rode rids for about 4 hours. I forgot the camera, so here are some grainy pics from my cell phone.  They really had fun!

Kindergarten Celebration

Adams last day of Kindergarten sure was exciting!  They got to go bowling-it was pretty cute to watch 40+ Kindergarteners throw heavy balls down the lanes.  All the lanes had bumpers, so the balls would bump, bump all the way down and then knock over the pins.  A lot of the kids only lasted about 4 or 5 turns.  Adam had no problem filling in for the kids that didn't want to take their turn, he bowled a 74!

Adams teacher Stacy took one of the kids turns-she has been an amazing teacher for Adam.  She has been teaching for 10 years, but this is her first year teaching Kindergarten and she was awesome, you would have thought that it was her 10th year teaching Kindergarten.  Adams school is trying something called looping where the kids get the same teachers for 2 years in a row, so Stacy will be moving with the kids to 1st grade.
Carla got one of the kids turns too.  Carla was Adams teacher while Stacy was on maternity leave.  She has a totally different style than Stacy, but the kids totally flowed with it!  They loved her and where so excited to have her come today to their bowling party.

Adam and his friend Drew-they were the die hards that bowled all the other kids turns that where too tired.
One of the moms in the class made this owl cake for the end of the year celebration-their class was the owl class.
I made Carla a little tote bag and had all the kids sign it, they were so excited to make something for her and she her open it at their celebration!
Here is Adam getting his Kindergarten certificate.  Stacy was so sweet and had a word that described each of the kids.  Adams word was eager, because he was always eager to do his work, his homework, to listen, and to help out.
She had a balance beam and after she presented them with their certificate they would walk across it and be 1st graders!
Wow!  That year went by so fast!  Adam is a 1st grader!

Phone Pics-

So I downloaded all the photos off of my phone, so lets see what fun we have to share!  Here are pictures of the kids last September at the NutTree in Vacaville.  We stop there every fall coming back from our family reunion.  It is a good stop because they have a Fentons Ice Cream there and fun stuff for the kids, like a train and carousal, and other fun play stuff. Like animals heads! So here is Andrew the lion, Kenzie the Elephant, and Adam the rabbit!

Crazy Hair Day

This is as crazy as Kenzie gets, for crazy hair day!  We braided her hair last night so it was wavy, and then she wanted glitter in her hair.  We had some spray glitter left over from Halloween so I sprayed it this morning.  It is hard to see in the picture, but the glitter looked so cool in the sun!

Father-Son Campout

I love the Father-Son Campout, not because the boys go away, but because my boys love spending time with their Dad, and they always come home so dirty which means they had  lots of fun!

Photo Shoot 2012

My super sweet friend Alisa was brave enough to come over to what we call "Crister" where we have our chickens, ducks, and garden.  Anyway it is full of junk to, to say the least, so that is where being brave comes into play.  To tromp around among the "stuff" to humor me with some fun family pictures.  I like the white daisies, and the funky green couch that was Richards grandpas!  Of course my favorite is the car because that ended up being the setting of the picture that Richard and I used for our wedding announcement.  It was kinda of joke picture at the time, but was the cutest!  Anyway I wanted a picture on it with my family cuz it is getting hauled away next week.  It was of course the typical family photo shoot, of whining kids, and husband, but they turned out so cute!

Pinterest in real life

So like most "pinterester" i am addicted to pinterest.  Sometimes I tell myself that I need to stop looking at pinterest and actually do something that I pin.  So I did!  I made this cute rainbow cake pops-I love cake pops!  Anyway here is a picture of the cute outside, but I am not a professional blogger, cuz I didn't take any pictures of how cute they looked on the inside, they were rainbow on the inside too.  Maybe I will make them again and actually take pics of the insides!  They were so yummy though-we ate them to fast and that is probably why I don't have any pictures

Field Trip Time

I have always wanted to go to the Shasta Caverns. Kenzie has has a field trip there last year and this year.  I was planning on going, but something came up, but I got to go this year.  It quite a drive for a field trip, and I don't know how much the kids really "appreciated" the coolness of the caves, but they had fun!  They had an area where they could search for gems.  Then we took a boat ride across the lake to the caves.  It was such a beautiful day, the lake was beautiful, the sky was beautiful.  Anyway I thought the caves were really neat, but as usual on field trips the kids attention spans aren't super good, so I never get to see as much as I would like-but it is not for me right?!  I was taking pics and wanted one of Kenzie in the biggest room, and one of the parents said here let me take one of both of you-hehe how fun!
