Richards Trip to Denmark

Here are some really cool pictures of Richards Trip to Denmark. He really enjoyed it a lot and I am really glad that he had the opportunity to go. He even got to go into Germany a couple of times, so he brought me home some of my favorite chocolate and herb tea! I love European Tea and chocolate, well that is just a given. Hopefully next time I get to go too!! But I have enjoyed his pictures and stories, about all of his adventures.
This is a really famous street in Coppenahgen, he spent an afternoon there sightseeing with his parents. This is the statue of "The Little Mermaid" also in Coppenhagen, Richard said it is a really famous tourist attraction, but it is funny because it is actually a pretty small statue.Richar with his parents in front of The Little Mermaid. They had already been traveling around Europe for about 4 weeks, so they were in Coppenhagen and able to pick him up from the airport and take him around to all of these cool sites.Richard in front of a statue of Hans Christian Anderson. In front of Hans Christian Andersons house.

This is Richards friend Soren and his financee Christina, that Richard stayed with the rest of his trip. They are getting married this coming weekend. Aren't they cute!! Soren is a buyer for a huge baby/maternity store in Denmark, Richard said similar to like Babies R Us. Christina is a school teacher. Richard went and was a guest speaker in some of her classes one of his days there. He said it was really fun, and the students were really on top of stuff, they asked him questions anywhere from Do you have a hummer, to global warming, to what he thought about McCain and Obama, and all in English of course!

Since when is tomorrow 5 days Later!?!?

So I finally got around to getting the circus pictures off of my phone. It really isn't hard at all I just had to sit down and do it!! So here is proof that the kids loved the circus, and thier $4 cotton candy?!? I don't think they had even had it before and they were so insistant on having it.
This is pretty much how Adam watched the first 45 minutes or so of the circus, I don't think he said a word, he was so entranced. Cotton Candy beards, Adam started it, "Look Mom I look like Santa Claus"

Then Kenzie had to out do him! Adam liked the elephants the best, it is a bad picture, but the elephant stood on its two back legs and walked across the ring.

Not Gonna quit my day Job

So ya know when you go somewhere or someplace and you just think, how did those people end up with that job?! Tonight I had one of those experiences that made me grateful for my day job, and I guess more importantly for Richards day job, that lets me keep my day job of being a mom-
With that said, tonight I took the kids to the Circus, we had Free Tickets so why not?!? The kids had a lot of fun, and that is what it is all about anyway. I didn't tell them where we were going, just that it was a surprise. When we got to where you could see what it was we were going to Adam says, "oh the circus." How does he know what the circus is I have never taken him to one before!! Anyway as I watched I just thought, how hard of a life I think that would be to travel around to all different towns and have to put on your silly act. I also thought it was funny, how just a couple of people did most of the acts, but of course the acts were called a different name! I liked how one group was the Russian something, and then the same people came out to do a trampoline act later and then they were the Hernandez troupe?!? Silly- I just hope that those people really enjoy it, and that is really the life they want?! I just know it is not for me.
Sorry no pictures- Richard took the camera to Denmark with him, I took some with my phone, but I have to figure out how to get them to my computer. Maybe tomorrow!

Leaving on a Jet Plane........

So Richard left this morning to the airport in San Fran, off to Denmark on his great "bachelor" adventure! He has a friend in Denmark that is getting married, and WE have been trying to go to Denmark since we got married to visit him. So Soren(Richards Friend) called us in January to tell us he was proposing to his girlfriend, and they would be getting married in October. I was so excited and started planning to go right away, and then about march-----surprise---some little baby decided it wasn't waiting anymore to join our family. So here I sit almost 8 months pregnant, and Richard is going to Denmark. I am really excited for him though! He wasn't going to go without me, but over the summer I convienced him he should go, so I renewed his passport, and bought him a ticket to Copenhagen! It was weird when he left this morning, we have been apart for longer than a week before, thanks to work trainings and stuff, but he is just going to be soooo far! When he said goodbye I cried- I blame it on being pregnant! I know it will go by really fast, so I just hope he has a good time and enjoys it, and brings me back something cool!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICHARD

Today is Richards Birthday, and not just any birthday his 30th!! I felt bad because I think he really wanted to have something big, but too many factors led to a small party of just a few friends. He should know better than to turn an exciting number while I am pregnant!! Happy Birthday Richard
The cake- Richard loves banana ice cream, and I found a Banana Split Ice Cream cake with chocolate, vanilla, and banana ice cream in it. It was really good, but man I could feel some heat coming off of it!! I don't know what he wished for, but it will definatly come true, he got all 30 candles out in one small blow!!
Present time with the ever excited "present helpers". You would have thought I planned the gifts, even from his friends that came, it was all about hunting- oh and a golf ball from Andrew (that is Andrew in the blue)
Oh, this wan't hunting but a fishing book- all boy stuff anyway?!? Okay, so kinda a funny picture, (thanks Mindy for taking them!) but it shows my pregnant belly for those of you that want to see me pregnant. I feel like I am not that big for 30 weeks, but Richards Grandma said the other day that I was going to have a big baby. We will see what the doctor says tomorrow!

Our Trip to the City

So this weekend we went on a trip to the Bay Area- we had planned to go to the Scottish Games with Richards Sister, but we stayed over the weekend and took the kids to San Fran too. We had never done that before. The weather was really beautiful, and it was such a nice time with my family.Adam playing drums with a group called the Wicked Tinkers, Adam loved listening to them, they are a Scottish band with a kick.
Adams favorite part of any Scottish Game we go to is listening to the bagpipe bands, I think he mostly loves the drums, but he will sit or sleep sometimes through at least an hour of them! The kids "monster" corn dog they had for lunch!
The view from pier 39 in San Fran with Alcatraz in the background. It was an amazingly clear and warm day for the city.
The "famous" San Francisco Sea Lions, I thought they stunk, but of course the kids just sat there watching them fight each other off the docks and bark.
There is an aquarium on the pier I had never been to before, so we figured why not? It is actually pretty cool. They have an area where you can touch rays, leapord sharks, star fish and sea urchins. I love this picture because Kenzies face is not sad because she doesn't want to touch it, she is upet because the ray went to deep and she couldn't reach it. Once she finally did, she stayed for probably 45 minutes touching the animals.
Touching leapord sharks, they were cute about 2ft long. I tried to get Adam to touch them, and he wouldn't. Later he said he was scared because sharks can bite your fingers!
Adam loved the starfish. I think because they didn't move!
Richard tried to take about 7 pictures of the kids in their aquarium hats, and he never got both of them looking at the same time, how well will that work with 3?!?

After the aquarium Richard thought it wold be fun to drive up and down some steep hill, so of course we went down Lombard St., then he just kept driving up and down hills. I thought it was a silly idea, but the kids thought it was great. Richard later pointed out that our kids live in a valley town with no hills, so that was an exciting exprience. He is totally right!
View of Alcatraz from the top of Jones St. It was so steep you couldn't see the road in front of the car sometimes!
I am so grateful we took the time to have a little family trip, I really needed the break, and it was fun to see the kids experiencing new things, and enjoying it. I hope to do it more often!
