My Sunday Surprise
On Saturday Richard said he had a surprise for me, and it was something I could wear to church on Sunday. I was thinking oh yeah, a new maternity dress. Nope it was......
An Iris coursage, it was really pretty. Iris is my favorite flower, it is the flowers I had in my wedding bouquet, so I thought that was pretty sweet and pretty thoughtful. So I wore it to church just for fun!! It was cute Richard wore a purple tie, I don't know if he did it on purpose, but it matched my iris.
Kenzies New Thrill
So Kenzie has been swimming all summer, and she is getting really good. She started taking lessons last fall and during the summer has been swimming about 4 times a week on the Summerjets swim team, and then of course we go to Grandmas house a few times a week to swim. Last week she decided she wanted to try jumping off the diving board, and she did it swam to the edge, got out and did it again. I am so excited for her!!

Tribute to Grandpas
Last Tuesday Richards Grandpa Jones passed away and my Great-Grandpa Seaman passed away. They died within an hour of each other. It was kinda spooky. They both died mostly of old age. Grandpa Jones was 93, and my Great-Grandpa was 101. They will both be missed, and I will have such great memories of them.
Unfortunatly Grandpa Jones had his cancer return and was in a lot of pain, so it was hard to see him in pain or to see him so drugged, but they wanted to keep him comfortable and I think that was good. He loved when I would bring Kenzie and Adam to visit, and loved his dog Wolfie. My first memory of him was when I met him at what we call "the barn" it is his property where he grew his onions, sweet red onions that is, corn and melons. I was wearing overalls and he talked about how he and his brothers grew up wearing overalls back in Kansas, and they were cheap, and he didn't think anyone wore those anymore. He had an amazing life full of great stories of surviving the Depression, coming to California, working as a civialian in WW II in Ireland, working for the motion picture industry, and of course farming. I'm grateful for the time I had with him and for the love he showed our family.

Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is.
"Don't blinkJust like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blinkYou just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

My Great-Grandpa Seaman was a character. I don't remember him ever saying to much as a kid, but he always was putting together great things for us to play with. He would make swings, and teeter-toters out of old pieces of whatever. He too was a product of the Depression and saved everything!! He had sheds and barns full of stuff, we used to wander through and look at. Whenever we spent the night he would always make us animal and letter shaped pancaked for breakfast. He could always make us laugh, just by being Grandpa.
Here is a picture of the swingset Grandpa made for us, I think I am one of the ones hangning upside down.

The Ultrasound
So today we had our "20" week ultrasound. It was fun of course to watch the little bug move around, and think that in another 20 weeks, the little bug will be moving around in the world! They were able to get all the measurments, and check the brain, heart, etc. However when it came time for the "fun" of trying to get a picture it had it's back to us, or else would put it's hand over it's face. It was actually pretty funny. We choose not to find out what we are having, so it will be a fun surprise! I really have no feelings either way at this point, just excited that I am no longer nauseas, the headaches have stopped and I am actually starting to feel like myself again, aside from the growing middle section!

The Sweetest Things
So the last two days have been a little much for me. Richard has essentially been gone for a week (he was home for the weekend and then left again Monday morning, and his weekends are busy). Anyway yesterday I just felt blah and I was helping Adam get dressed and just out of the blue he said, "Mommy I give you a hug." It was so sweet I started crying. Then today I was on my bed exhausted and Adam came in and asked what was wrong, and I told him I didn't feel good, and he said, "Do you need a ice pack?" I said, "No but thank you." "Your welcome Mommy, you are a good girl." I feel so blessed that even though my days are crazy somtimes, that my kids are sensetivie enough to want to help their Mommy!!
Adam at about 10 months, always smiling!!
