Curtis

So it has been awhile and I mean awhile.  Today was not fun.  Baby brother Curtis went to the hospital with irregular heartbeat.  They had him hooked up to machines and iv drips.  xrays were taken and and ultrasound.  Nothing showed up so finally they sent him home.  Jana is there with him so I am comfortable with that.  I know he is in good hands.  Friday he goes to a cardiologist for stress tests and anything else that needs to be done.  It made me realize how much I love this kid.  My little brother means so much to me.  Love him so much.  He has always been there for me in all the good times and has been my rock in the bad, lower times.  I hope he realizes how he has affected my life.  Curtis is the little brother I need!!!!  Love you so much and you have made my life crazy but soooooooooooo worth while.

Noah

I am so lucky to have Noah Douglas Smith in my life. He is my first Grandchild and was so excited to have a little boy. Yeah a GRANDSON!!!!! The thing about Noah is he came into this world a big boy 10 POUNDS and he continues to be a big boy in every sense of the word. He is a Big Brother..and an exceptional one at that..He has a Big smile..He has a Big personality..He has the Biggest cutest laugh ever..and I have a feeling he will play a Big part in everyones lives. Being my first Grandkid I was so proud.

I had the chance to watch him for about 7 or 8 months as Angie was working and she needed someone to take care of him. I juggled my work so I could do this. Such an important thing for me to do. Watching him grow and change on a daily basis was extrodinary. With the other 2 Grandchildren I did not have this opportunity..so it was very special to be able to participate in his life.

He is the perfect helper. Ask him to help and he gets so excited and never (well sometimes) says "no". He walked at 9 months old. Amazing. He was the first to call me Grandma Meeka and the other kids have followed. Meeka is my puppy.

This year he attended Preschool. Being able to see him at the Christmas Progam and at the Graduation Program made a proud Grandma even prouder. Can't believe this sweet boy will be in Kindergarden this coming year. The time has just flown by. I truly hope I will be able to watch him grow into a fine young man. Kind of silly to say but I so much want to be around and watch all my Grandchildren grow up. Not too fast but to be here just the same.

He is so lucky to have such a wonderful mother. Of course she is wonderful, she is my daughter. She has been there for all 3 kids and I don't think I know of anyone else who is so dedicated to her kids. Their dad is such a Great guy. Angie and Doug make a special pair and have created a beautiful family and are the best parents.

Noah has made my life so special. I love him so much and hope he knows it. I love you Noah to infinity and beyond!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I really really really like your name!!!!!!!!

Leah

Ah...Leah! What can I say about this little girl? A LOT!!!!!! She was born March 21, 2008. I babysat with Noah at the townhouse while Doug and Angie were waiting for this lady to be born. Just remember them going to the hospital in the morning and later that afternoon the bundle of joy was born. Noah and I went to the hospital that evening and he was so excited to be a Big Brother.

Leah is 200% girl. Such a beauty. These past 3 years watching her grow and learn have just been amazing.

She never liked to be just rocked or held in a chair. Needed to be up and walking around with this little girl. She absolutely dispised being on the grass. She would cry and fret if she felt the grass on her bare feet. And when she did walk on the grass she was so dainty.

She began walking at about 15 or 16 months and from then on she is taking on the world.

Leah has a personality all her own. She is very feminine...yet...she can hold her own. She can take care of herself when big brother gets on her. Pretty tough little cookie. If she gets upset with you...she lets you know it. She can give you "That look" and you know exactly what she is thinking about you at that moment.

I watched Noah and Leah a couple of weeks ago and told the two of them to "knock it off" while I was putting Isaac to sleep. Then made her sit on the couch and Noah in the other room. Angie called me the next day and informed me that I was a Mean Grandma. Really quite amusing!!! Leah was talking to Sam on the phone one day and he had to go. She was upset that he hung up and told me "Grandpa is a bad Grandpa". Again..quite amusing.

This little lady totally rocks my world. She tells me I am her best friend and tells me "I love you Grandma".

I am so glad that she is my Granddaughter. What an amazing kid. She makes my world exceptional!!

Isaac

Isaac...my youngest Grandchild...at least at this time. What a sweet, wonderful little boy. He has brought me such joy and lots of smiles and laughs. Remembering back to when he was just born. What a beautiful baby. Angie, Doug and I spent the day waiting for a call from the hospital to deliver the little guy. While we waited, Angie and I went to Costco, got her car washed and did odds and ends. I was quite amazed that Ang wanted to do this stuff know that she was going to deliver that day. She told me that she just needed to keep her mind busy.

It wasn't until later that afternoon, around 6 or 7 pm the hospital called and told her to "Come on over!" Within a couple of hours little Isaac was born. Doug emailed me a photo and what a handsome little man he was.

I stayed at their house with Noah and Leah. We planted some flowers out in the garden and just played around and watched movies. Noah was a little under the weather but was feeling better by the next day so he could go see
his little brother.

Isaac's temperment is so different from the other two kids. He would let me rock him to sleep, to just hold him without fussing and never cried unless he was tired, sick, hungry or needed to be changed.

Watching him grow this first year has been so special. How he just hated the car seat. How he laughs when his brother and sister play peek-a-boo with him. How he is so much a Mommy's boy. He is always reaching to have his mom hold him. His cute little teeth. His two front teeth have this little gap between them and when he smiles it just brightens up the room. When he started rolling over and crawling it was like this wonderful new adventure had just happened and from there on he was unstoppable. He is now starting to balance on his feet and very soon he will begin investigating everything on two feet in an upright position.

Isaac will be 1 year old on June 18th. This year has just flown by and I am so looking forward to seeing what this next year brings. It will be full of surprises and lots of exciting times.

I really love this little boy. He is one of three little kids that brighten my life!!

Sisters new Grandson, Memorial Day

About a week and a half ago I tood Karin to the airport to be with Jana when she has her baby. This is the first Grandchild for Karin and she will be an excellent Granny!!! Bodyn was born May 25, 2011. Jana had a c-section and baby and mom are doing great! Karin is scheduled to come home this Saturday and I know it is going to be very difficult for her to leave. With Jana in Phoenix...she will only be able to see the new grandbaby skype, messenger and pics. She will try to visit whenever she can but that is hard.
Got my garden, finally, planted. A whole 4 tomato plants and 1 green pepper plant. Hope they do well. If everything grows good, I will plant a larger garden next year. This is just a test.
Angie and her family came over for dinner today, Memorial Day. It is so fun to be around those 3 kids. Love them to death.
Guess that is all for now.

Many Things

Many things have happened in the last couple of weeks. Surveying changed at work. They have decided to start timing us on the categories we survey. Hard to explain but something new I guess. Last week was Noah's graduation from preschool. It was so cute to see those cute kids in their caps and gowns. Even had little red tassels on the caps and they threw them in the air just like the big kids. I can not believe that he will be starting kindergarten in the Fall. They grow so quickly. On Friday night we had a sleepover with Noah. Such a good boy. We slept in the living room on the couch bed. That is so exciting for him to be able to sleep there. Then it was movies until he fell asleep. On Saturday, Sam took him to Toys R Us to pick out a toy. Then we went to McDonalds for the Oh So Gread Kids Meal. Amazing what kids get so excited over. The biggest downfall is IT IS SUNDAY EVENING, NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK TOMORROW. But all in all it was a Great Weekend.

I Love You Grandma

I spent the day with the Smith Family minus Doug. Noah went to a Fire Station and saw a fire truck. Boy was he excited. He has been looking forward to this field trip for a long time. I got to the house at 8:30 am and left around 4:00 pm. After the field trip Angie had a dentist appointment so I stayed and watched the kids while she did that. Before I left...Noah was outside playing with his friend Calvin and Leah went down for a nap. Leah was sooooo tired. She laid down in bed and had a story told to her and was on her way to sleep. All of the sudden Leah said "Grandma, I have to tell you something. I love you Grandma. Can you come to my house tomorrow?" Must admit these are the kind of things this Grandma loves to hear. I love those 3 kids so much. They are the light of my life and beyond!!!!!! Thank you Smith's for a fun filled day. Love you all!!

Pine Needles

With 2 BIG pine trees in the front yard, we tend to get tons of pine needles on the grass over the winter. So..........today I went and raked them all up. 2 huge piles and that was just the front yard grass. Still have to clean out all the areas around the grass, bushes etc. When it is done it will look amazing. Promise... Went to Mom and Dads this morning and Sam finished fixing their new computer. Hope they enjoy it. If the is nice tomorrow will try to clean the pine needles from the bushes. If not, will just have to wait until next week.

Of course they just love seeing their great grandchildren. They are so proud of all their grandkids and great grandkids. Possibly they also feel them same way about their kids. Looking forward to a nice weekend. Supposidly it is going to be very nice so maybe I will be able to do some yard work. All for now.

Birthday #5!

Today is my first Grandchilds 5th Birthday. I can hardly believe he is 5. It seems only yesterday he was born. The whole 10lbs of him. Noah is just this amazing little man. He is always happy, extremely curious, very loving, a wonderful big brother and I am so glad that he is my Grandson. His smile is so bright and full of life. His laugh is contagious. He calls me Grandma Meeka and I just love it. He always wants to play in the sandbox...even in the middle of the winter. He is going to be a truck driver when he grows up. He absolutly loves his family and has told me many times how much he loves his mom and dad and sister and brother. I love you Noah to the moon and beyond. Thank you for being my Grandson and making my life the best ever!!!!!!!

Spring?

Sam and I worked out in the yard today. Lots to do. Picked up all the branches and twigs and there were alot of them, got out the flower pots, fixed a sprinkler head got the hoses out and got done whatever else we could before we both got to tired. The apricot DOES NOT have alot of buds this spring. Hope that means no or very few apricots. Like the trees, like the shade but don't like apricots for the mess they leave behind. Meeka just loves this weather. She stays out all day long and just relaxes in the sun on the grass. Actually it was qusite a nice day. Now as I look outside, it is raining and I hear that snow is possibly on the way. So...Spring...maybe just a little longer!!

A Trip and a Birthday!

Went on a trip with Angie and family to California, Disneyland to be exact. Drove down in the Tahoe with Doug at the wheel and I felt very safe in his hands. It was quite a long ride both ways with only one major stop in St. George to eat. After arriving in California, I stayed the night in Angie and Dougs room, got up, Doug got us 3 day passes and we were on our way. I had forgotten how BIG Disneyland is and how crowded it is. It was slot of fun though. It was more fun for me to watch the kids and see how much fun they had. Noah and Leah had so much fun and Isaac was the perfect baby. They all did have have "their moments" but for 99.9% of the time they were all just great. Angie and Doug were fun to be with as well. 2 days in Disneyland, a day at the beach and one more day at Disneyland. I really enjoyed my time with my beautiful family. By the way, when I got home the sink was unclogged.
Thank you again Angie for a wonderful time.
Angie celebrated Leah's birthday on the Friday after her real birthday. She made cupcakes, had ice cream and lemonade. The Smith Family came as well as some of Angie and Dougs friends and of course my Mom, Karin, Britt and her girls and Sam brought his Mom. Leah got lots of fun things, toys, clothes, a doll house and Sam and I got her a Pink Scooter. Happy 3rd Birthday to my Beautiful Granddaughter. I love her so so much!!!!

Angie, me and the kids went to the childrens museum at the Gateway. It is really a fun fun place for the kids and actually the adults as well. Afterwards we picked up Doug and went home and celebrated. Food and pie. It was a fun day. The only problem is that a woke up with sore sinus's and and ear ache. Hopefully it is just a 24 hour thing. Hope so!!

GO GREENBAY PACKERS!!! It was fun. Mom, Dad, Karin, Curt, Jason and Jessica, Trev, Kevin and Brayden, and Britt and her 2 girls were there. Ate pizza and salad and just enjoyed the game. Maybe I will watch 1 football game next year...The Superbowl. LOL Later..

So, So

I am not doing so well on blogging every day. I am trying, but need to try harder. Have been going to the gym at least every other day. Working out on the strength machines mainly but also using the treadmill and the bicycle. It has been very rewarding. I feel better physically and mentally as well. Hopefully it will all pay off. Tood off Thursday and Friday this week. So a nice 4 day weekend. Am going to Mom and Dad's for Super Bowl Sunday. It will be fun!!! GO PACKERS!!!!! Later..

Friday...

Today I went to a retirement party for a gentleman I have known for 21 years. He is one of the first people I met when I started working at Associated Foods. Pretty soon everyone that I really know at work will be retired and gone. Later in the evening Sam and I went to an art exhibit at Hogle Zoo. A friend of ours, Marqurite, had 2 of her photographs on display. It was quite fun to look at all the entrys. Photographs, sculptures, paintings and other artwork that had to do with animals in the wild. Very interesting. Angie is held up with 2 sick little kids at home. Quite a chore to handle 2 sickies, but she is such a good mom and takes such good care of her kids!! Actually today was one of the more busy days I have had in a while, but a good busy day!! Later..

Meeka

We are trying very hard to get little Meeka to settle down when we leave and come back or when someone comes over to the house. This little cutie gets sooooooooo EXCITED!! The new thing is, DON'T LOOK, DON'T TOUCH, DON'T TALK. She does not get our attention until she is totally settled down. So far, so good. This will take some or should I say alot of time and effort (especially for Sam). My only hope is that since both of us and even Angie, Doug and the kids are doing this, maybe, possibly it will start her settling down. It is so cute to see the kids not pay attention to Meeka. They cover their eyes, and completely ignore her. The future will tell!!!! Later..

A Visit

Today I went to Pleasant Grove to visit with Angie and the kids. Isaac is kind of under the weather and Noah has a slight cough. Uugh!!!!! Leah, of course the small female of the group is in excellent health. We went to the Social Security Office to get a SS Card for Isaac and Angie and myself needed replacement cards. Need to renew my drivers license so need to get it anyways. I am excited 'cause Angie got material for the window covering for our front door. She is such a good seamstress and has agreed to make the curtain for us. Later...

#1

Here goes: I had a great weekend. Watched the 3 kids while Angie and Doug went skiing and snowboarding at Park City. It was Dougs Birthday. The BIG 32!!! How luck am I that Angie married such a wonderful guy. He has brought such happiness to Angie and of course that makes me happy. He and Sam have a good relationship and again that makes me happy. I so look forward to seeing Angie and Doug and the kids. They all have brought me a Bright Light in my Life. Of course can't leave out Sam the kitties and the one and only Meeka. How lucky am I. Couldn't ask for a better family. Got my new walking shoes today...Guess that means "START WALKING!!" Did Zumba tonight on the PS3 Move that we got for Xmas. It is really fun. I am not so good at it. My coordination has something to be desired, but with practice and hard work I will become a Dancing Zumba Machine. Later.....

How would it be....

Just wondering if I could possibly do a post a day. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..don't know but I am going to try. Just thoughts, quotes and maybe if I become really into it...Pictures (haven't done much of those at all lately). Any way can at least try.
