Hi holiday makers!

 

I am feeling the stress of having an improper holiday. Yup! An improper holiday. That is what happens when you plan for a holiday and feel too stressed that what you have planned for the family, will not turn out well! Really! ( ...and for that, I want another holiday lol! )

 

Anyway, 2012 is drawing to an end real soon and I am sinking in the massive preparation for 2013!

 

Daytime work, kids' schools, weekend business and the occasional workshops ... that's a handful to keep me on my toes and keep my eyes and brain ticking throughout the night. That's why planning is very essential for me.

 

So, for this week, I will share with you what I have planned for my PSLE going daughter : a 2013 pictorial journal. It will be something that she can use to collect the memories of her last year in primary school. I believe she will use it as she is quite an avid author and quite creative at it too.

 

For this project I have used Graphic 45 papers and embellishments from Tim Holtz:

I just love these corners. They add to the rusticness of the whole emblem. 

...and what papers will be the most appropriate if not Graphic 45's ABC Primer!

I have about 46 pages in this album and they have all of the paper from this range .

I have also layered papers and tags here. I have to keep it quite flat as I am not too sure how the album would survive the rough handling of a child's school bag.

...and here's the final look.

I do hope you will make an album to capture such moments for your child or of your child. It will be worth the while when they pull it out one day and show it to their children :)

Christmas Pyramid

  
It’s that time of the year again! I’m sure we are all excited about the coming holidays.   I have this cute pyramid project that reminded me of a Christmas tree to share with you.   Here I’ll show you how to do this really simple project. 

I’ve chosen to use Basic Grey’s Sweet Thread collection and KCK’s textured cardstock.  There are a lot of greens, oranges, pinks  in this collections which I find is really festive, just like Christmas.  KCK’s textured cardstock pack has 40 colours for you to match with any paper collection that you have!  Ok let’s get started!

      First we need to make a triangle template.  Here I have used 5” as the base and 10” as the height.  Mark the center at 2.5” at the top and join the base points to the top center point and you’ve made yourself your triangle template.

Cut out 3 of these triangles.

Use your washi tape to join the edges together till you form a pyramid.

  I’ve cut my photos to sizes that will fit on the pyramid, 2x3 and 1.5x2 inches.  I’m using the plain cardstock from KCK to mat my photos.

 

 To complete the pyramid, I decided to add a little Christmas tree at the top.  To make this you need a

1)       3” circle and score/fold them into 8 equal sections

2)       Using the valley and mountain fold, you’ll get a shape like in picture 2

3)       At each edge, I’ve marked 2 small lines for you to snip,

4)       After snipping the small edge, fold it down. 

The end result is this. Glue it to the top of your pyramid.

 Let’s look at the completed project again.  I’ve embellish this with the stickers that comes together in the Basic Grey, Sweet Threads , paper pack.

BLOG CHALLENGE FOR JANUARY 2013

Dearest Crafters ,

We wishes all of you a WONDERFUL Christmas and Happy New Year.

For the month of December’2012, we will skip blog challenge as we know most of you are busy preparing for Christmas now.

Blog challenge for January 2013, we hope to receive projects for Valentine’s Day (which can be layout, albums or altered art).  

Scrap it with lots of love, Valentine Day is not only to loving couples.

Many people celebrates this special day with good friends as well.

You may submit this challenge from today onwards till 28^th January 2013.

Result will be out on 31^st January 2013 and will be posted on our blog.

How to join ? Simply just send your project to krafers@kck.sg and ensure you get an acknowledgement from us.

If your project is the blog winner of the month, please bring it down to our shop at City Square.

Project will be placed at shop for one month to share your inspiration with everyone !

Hi there,

That time of the year is here again.I have altered a cookie tin filled with lollies & a 12 days of Christmas tag set for those celebrating this merry occasion.

What is Christmas without candies & the traditional reds & greens...

The cookie tin was decked with papers from the Prima Ledger collection.I've also used Prima's Christmas flowers,glitter thickers,pom pom ribbons & gems.

Here's how the lolly holder is put together:

 

-cardstock cut to 6 1/2" x 2 1/4"
-score at 2 1/2" x 4"
-designer paper cut to 2" x 2 1/4"

 

 

Fold at the score lines & glue the lolly onto the middle.
Punch 2 small holes by the stick & loop a ribbon through to put the holder together.
I've also die cut green & red scalloped hearts(from the KCK collection) using glittered cardstock to jolly it up.

This was a really fun & easy project so I hope you'll try it out.

Festive seasons is just round the corner and everyone must be busy preparing presents for your family, friends, colleagues and the list keeps going on……

 

Have you consider making your own cards and gifts for your loved one. Here you go with ome ideas what to make for your friends and all the materials can be purchase from Krafers Paradise.

Christmas Party Popper card

How about making a Christmas party popper card, it requires plain red card stock, Christmas paper, ribbons and embellishments to finish off the card. Fold the plain red card stock into half and cut out the shape of a party popper. Cut another piece of the Christmas paper into the party popper shape and stick onto the plain red card stock with foam tape. Add ribbons and embellishments on the card and finish off with a simple greetings “Merry Christmas” or greetings of your choice.

 

Post-it note pad Gifts

Create a personalized post-it note pad for your loved ones. Use the square templates from KCK die cuts.  Cut 2 pieces as the base and 1 pieces rectangle shape for joining the top and bottom together. Decorate it with pattern papers, embellishments and lastly you can paste the name or greetings on the empty space provided.

Alternatively you can create a long rectangle post-it note pad. Measure the size that you want, score the centre of the card stock and make it like a book cover. Tape the post it note pad at the back and stick to the base. Decorate it with pattern papers, X’mas embellishments, ribbons and a simple greetings or name of the receiver on the front cover. 

All the post it note pad is refillable and you can re-use the cover again.
