Tags
Hi Everybody,
I have been tagged by Putter and others to list eight facts about myself. The instructions are as follows:
"List eight ( 8 ) random facts about yourself.
Tag eight people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them ). Let them know they've been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blogs okay?"
Here goes:
1. When I go out on the deck at night, I won't come back in until I get a treat. If I don't get a treat, I whine, I mean cry, until I get one.
2. In the morning I take a nap on the couch in the parlor soon after I get up. I finish sleeping there.
3. In the afternoon, I like to sit on grandpa's shoulders and look out the window. I'm watching for the neighbor's cat to come by so that I can bark at him. It makes my day.
4. I love bully sticks and bully stick holders.
5. Sitting out in the front yard is more fun for me than being on the back deck. I get to see dogs and people go by.
6. It is because of me that the mailman now has treats in his truck. He loves the little dance that I do for him.
7. When I play bitey face with my friend Sadie I pull her neck fur real hard. She doesn't like that, but I do.
8. When my mom picks up my toys and puts them in my toy basket, I take them out, one by one, and put them back in front of the patio doors where they belong. People will just have to walk around them.
So there you have eight rather boring facts about me. Also, Asta's Mommi tagged my mom to list five things about herself. Now these are really boring.
(My mom got brave and posted a picture of herself that she took with the isight camera on the computer while she was working on my blog. Scary, isn't it?)
1. When my mom was a baby, her aunt knitted her a stuffed dog that her grandfather called "Koobus". That is where the name started. The full story appeared as a blog post back in August.
2. My mom has visited thirty-six states, Canada, and Mexico. Her favorite U. S. cities are, in no particular order: Boston, New York, Chicago, and San Diego. Her favorite states are Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Hawaii, and Utah. Colorado, Montana, Washington, Oregon, and the states along the Upper Great Lakes are among the states she has missed, but would love to visit someday. Her favorite place of all is Mountain Top, PA. She just loves living here.
3. On a cold night in February 2004, she broke her right ankle when she fell on black ice while walking the late Koobus III. (Actually, he pulled her down.) It was pretty ugly. We will spare you the gory details. The ankle, along with her right knee, have both been giving her problems lately. She is getting old and feeling it.
4. My mom loves almost all animals, especially wire fox terriers. She finds us to be adorable and amusing. She is right, of course.
5. In 2003, my mom took an early retirement from her teaching career at the age of 55. Since March of this year she has spent most of her spare time blogging and entertaining me.
Sorry that I did not get to these tags sooner, but I have been busy, as you know, getting all my snow orders out. By now, all of you should have your boxes of snow. I still haven't written my letter to Santa yet. I hope that it's not too late. That will be my next job. Anyway, because these tags are old and have been around a while, I am going to tag anyone who has not yet been tagged and wants to play. This goes for both my furry friends out there, and my non-furry friends such as ms. creek, blue, and Patience. It will be fun to hear from them.
Love and Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

Naughty or Nice?
Hi Friends,
I need your help. As you can see from the top two photos, it is December in Mountain Top, PA, where I live. This means that it is time for me to think about my behavior since I moved here last December 30. Have I been naughty or nice? Since I will be writing my letter to Santa soon, I need to know what to tell him.
Let's see....
Yesterday I stole grandpa's underwear out of the wash, ran around the house with them, chewed them up pretty good, and left them for dead by the patio doors. (By the way, those teeth marks that you see in the door frame are mine. I put them there last spring. I did a pretty good job, don't you think.)
I already told you about stealing my mom's reading glasses when she was on the phone. I took them to my favorite spot in front of the doors but I gave them back after she chased me.
Gee, I wish I could remember where I hid that remote control for the electric heater in the sun room. It would be nice to have, especially now that it got cold out. Now where could that be?
Then there was the whole New York trip to visit Asta -- the accident, the parking tickets, etc. But we won't talk about that since you already know that story.
In the spring there was the attack on the stuffed bunnies that invaded our house. I told you about that, too. I think I won that one. They did finally leave. Now we have all these snowmen showing up. So far I haven't eaten any........ Yet.
And now for all the bad stuff....
I can't think of one single thing.
The best thing of all is that I give lots of kisses and I love everybody! I am the happiest little wire fox terrier in all of everywhere!
So, have I been naughty or nice? You decide. Then I'll know if I need to write a letter to Santa or not.
Thanks for all your help.

Bench Warmer
Hello,
I'm new here. My name is Whitey. My job is bench warmer. I'll stick around while the weather is to my liking. If it heats up, I am outta here -- carrot and all. And I'll take all my flakey friends with me. Here today, gone tomorrow, sometimes.
Koobie doesn't care for me too much. She keeps giving me the cold shoulder. I wonder why? I have a nice smile and I'm very well dressed in my black top hat and red scarf. People even say I am cute. Koobie thinks I'm full of cold air. She wants me gone. Maybe it's because I took her seat. This is one of her favorite spots to sit with grandpa in the warm weather. But she won't be seeing me then. I go south for the summer -- way south.
What a muddle. Mighty Whitey becomes a puddle.

Roachin'
Hi Friends,
Here I am just roachin' on a lazy morning. I always like to finish sleeping on the parlor couch. It's a nice comfy spot.
A while back I was tagged by someone, sorry I forget who, to post a picture of me roaching. After all this time my mom was finally able to get some roaching photos. So here they are. I would now like to tag anyone else who hasn't yet been tagged about roaching. No hurry. You can't rush roaching. It took me over six months to do it right.

In Honor of Turkeys Everywhere
Hello My Dear Friends,
I'd like to introduce you to my friend Tom. He’s stuffed. For the next couple of days he and others like him will be the center of attention. In his honor I wrote these three limericks. I’d really like to write a more complex form of poetry, but what do you expect for a turkey? Let me rephrase that. I mean, in honor of a turkey. (My name is Koobuss, not Shakespeare.)
Number One
We knew a turkey named Henery
Who soon became a memory
When Thanksgiving was on
Henery was gone
Not to he found this century.
Number Two
We once had a turkey named Tish
Who turned out to be quite a dish
When at the table
She was able
To prove that she wasn’t a fish.
And, finally, an after dinner poem:
Here I sit alone
Without even a bone
It’s not fair
That I wasn’t there
Now all I do is moan
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!!!
PEE ESS Our snow is all gone already and the grass has returned, as you can see. To my friends who want me to mail them some snow, unfortunately, I cannot do that at the present time. There is none available now. You will have to get on a waiting list. I’m sure that we will have more snow in the future and I will be able to fill your orders then. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So Soon?
Hi Friends,
Look what we have!!! I think it's almost time for Santa. They tell me that the Turkey comes first, but I'm not sure I believe that.
Not with all this stuff!! (I think they're trying to fool me again.)

Glasses
Tonight I stole my mom's new reading glasses off her when she was on the phone with kousin Layla's mom. Hehe. They are brand new. She just got them this afternoon. I was sitting on her lap when I noticed the glasses on her shirt where people her age put them when they are not reading so they'll be out of the way but still handy. I grabbed them quick, jumped off her lap, and ran up the steps to the kitchen. By the time she excused herself from the conversation, put the phone down, got out of the recliner, and over to the steps, I was waiting for her on the top step with the glasses in my mouth and my tail wagging. I looked so cute that she could not yell at me. Instead, she reached for her little camera that is always supposed to be nearby but wasn't, and I took off. So she missed a great photo op. She found me in the sun room by the patio door. She then took this rather mundane photo of me with her glasses. If you look closely, you can see the one earpiece on the right. By now I figured that she was frustrated enough, so I gave her the glasses back without a fight, since I also earlier took both her socks off her. (I know when to back off.) Layla, on the other end of the phone, thought this was all pretty funny.
See what happens when you are grounded for so long and get bored. Luckily, I didn't chew her glasses so she wasn't real mad. I think I'll be able to go to Penn State's game this weekend. Thanksgiving is coming and I don't want to be in trouble then. Soon after that Santa will be showing up, so I have to behave myself for that. YIKES!! Then ski season. Oh boy.
I'M SORRY!!!!!
