#455
Hello after more than 2 months.

I've been pretty busy with uni stuff after ending work haha. So many forms to fill in and submit.
Also today I took the Japanese placement test, level 5.
When it just started, I took one look at the paper and went "?????" LOL.
The paper was really confusing because it was a cloze passage of sorts but they were multiple types of blanks???
It wasn't really that difficult, just that the paper format was really confusing -_-
After the written test we had to go for an oral test which was basically you talking to the professor who will be teaching the course. Honestly I was really nervous for the oral test ugh.
It's not quite that I'm not confident, I just... get nervous easily?? Though I might not show it.
During the oral test I mentioned Nico Nico and the sensei went "ohh have you watched Shogi on Nico Nico before?" HAHAHA.
I wonder if she likes Shogi xD
She actually recommended me to try Media Japanese which is like after Japanese 5 and 6 but omg no I can't argumentative essay in Japanese wth.
So now all that's left is the Singapore Society module which seems REALLY hard to bid for x.x
Sigh uni bidding...

Can't wait for the KUIFA inbound and MoshiMoshiNippon~~

#454: Work, again
So I started working again, for almost a month now as an admin.
This time it's at Raffles Place and I'm racking up transport fees ugh. Feeling the pain of adult fare ._.
Plus the food there isn't exactly cheap so there goes like half my pay.
Sigh. Gonna have to start saving up for Japan and the 1 year exchange program which I hopefully will get...
I'm starting to wish I lived in Japan more and more... someone stop me LOL.
Totally gonna go to all the live concerts if I manage to get on that 1 year exchange program...

Met up with Michelle on Friday night and all we did was talk about Japan oh mannn.
Ate modanyaki and delicious milk ice cream ♡
Really miss Japanese food. Singapore's version just can't make it
I think Japan is like 80% of my life right now haha. And of that 80%, 60% is Japanese music and the other 40% is my love for the language (and culture) xDD
Loveee discovering new bands ahh~~♪
I'm tired of meeting new people my age and they're all obsessed with kpop ._.
Like kpop is catchy but maybe I just can't like it because I don't like how the language sounds -_-

Next Friday's nush homecoming~ Hopefully it won't be awkward LOL.
Looking forward to visiting choir on speech day that day though~

Can't wait for uni so I can do Japanese Studies~

#453: Japan etc
After 2 months of a boring data entry job, I finally went to Japan for my grad trip~~~!!
First time overseas without any adults accompanying and it was really fun hahaha.
All the pretty sakura~~~
I just realised, the first time was in autumn, the second in summer and this time I went in spring~~ xD
I wanna go in winter someday too~
If it's Japan then I can find my way around without much help xD
Well, with the help of signs and the train app xD
Raided the giant Kino in Shinjuku and I think I have more than enough books to read now xD
My Japanese reading stamina and speed still isn't that good too orz.
It's tough to continue my Japanese self-study when I can already communicate with Japanese people pretty well orz. Haven't done proper studying ever since I passed N2 last July :/

This trip really made my yearning for Japan much, much worse goodness. Sigh.
It'll be nice to travel there on my own~
Also made me really wish I could do university there... though idk if that's really the best choice.
Definitely gonna try for post-graduate in Japan which was what my JCS teacher suggested anw...
Air ticket + Accomodation (Airbnb) + Insurance + JR Pass (transport) + Wifi cost about $2000 for 2 weeks... but that's bc we went to quite a few places using the shinkansen...
Probably $2000 including food if you stay in one area.
Haah I really want to go regularly T_T
I want to go again in June already ahhh. There's 2 lives I wanna watch too :((
If I stayed in Japan I can't imagine how much I'll be spending on lives omg I wanna go to all the lives :(((
Also karaoke hahahaha.

In year 5 my mentor once asked me, "Do you like Japan to the point that you wish you were born there?", and my answer was no at that time.
Now, it's inching towards yes :/
My interests are so completely Japanese that a lot of my friends are Japanese and you see what that leads to irl ._.

Haah but if I go in June, I have only like 1.5 months to earn $$ for the trip, and there's a lot of uni stuff going on in July so in the end I'm gonna end up working for only ~4 months during this 8 month break lol. I expected to be working for most of the break lol.

Also received quite a bit of uni stuff from NUS recently... uni is so complicated ugh.
Srsly what is up with the course bidding system.
I'm actually excited for uni, like I can finally study what I'm really interested in lol. Though it's also worrying with the completely new environment.

#453:
Guess what happened on Tues less than 5 hours after my NTU Linguistics interview.

When I saw the gmail notification from my phone and read the email subject "NTU application outcome" I was like HAAH?! I even thought that maybe I was so bad that they rejected me right away holy crap.

And then 2 days later:

I actually didn't apply for any scholarship when I submitted my application but then they told me I was eligible so I had to write a short essay (on 'my values and beliefs'...) for it which I suck at gosh.

...I'm sorry but it all just feels too easy. Maybe because NTU's Linguistics department is still pretty new. (its 7th year if I'm not wrong)
According to a friend all departments are allocated the same number of college scholarships hence it's easier to get it in a smaller department...?
No idea if that's really true though I'm quite skeptical...

Anyway. I'm still not 101% sure I really want to do linguistics for university so I'll probably do some exploring till the deadline for accepting.

Still no news from NUS. NTU is like scarily fast compared to NUS LOL.

#452
Just went for an interview for NTU's Linguistic course... I guess it went well?
The prof interviewing me said I had good grades and I just went "umm okay it's not that good in my school though but yeah" in my head hahaha.

I'm not actually sure if I do really want to do Linguistics in NTU... ><
I'm pretty keen on NTU's Linguistics course, but at the same time I also really want NUS' Jap Studies course e.e
It's like what I really want to do, I can't do very well... (music/visual design)
I can't go without listening to music everyday HAHA.
And then there's also Japanese and psychology which I ALSO want to do :((
I really can't decide. I think I'll end up just choosing the course which is the most difficult to do self-study umm.
Hopefully NUS accepts me so I can do Jap Studies + Psychology... Jap Studies said they have Jap linguistics modules too...

Also, retook the MBTI personality test recently.
I didn't actually look up much on my personality type in the past, but this time I did and omg everything makes more sense now.
I feel like I /finally/ understand myself a little better.
INFJ is apparently the rarest personality type hmm. :O
Also discovered something called the Highly Sensitive Person which I probably am too LOL.
Explains why I always feel overwhelmed :/

INFJ and left-hander... I feel so... special?? HAHA.
Definitely gonna read up more on INFJ.

The other day I had to call up Satamiya Inn in Japan to book rooms IN JAPANESE and another achievement unlocked HAHA.
I haven't been doing Japanese self-study for like 6 months oops.
It's where I stayed during my Nanao exchange program so I sort of know the owner hahaha.
He was all "ohh maybe I'll recognise you if I see your face!" xD
Really can't wait for Japan. And hopefully it goes smoothly lol.
Also planning your own itinerary is such a pain.
