Tokyo Disneyland 2014
Mia went to Disneyland for the first time last weekend. She had a great time even though the park was jam-packed with people and, surprisingly, snow. Sadly, because of the snow, there were no characters walking around the park.
She liked Country Bear Jamboree but thought it was a bit scary. Dada won three sheriff badges at the shooting gallery. Two gold ones for the girls and one sliver for Dada.
In Toontown Dada got a big round of applause after being shocked by the door to the power plant. We didn't get to go on many rides. It's a Small World was a big hit. Mia and Mamu both slept through Capitan Eo, but Dada really liked the 80's glory.
After the fun at Disneyland Dada was very happy to drink yummy beer at the Baird Taproom in Nakameguro.

Mia's 七五三
November is time for the Shichi-Go-San festival in Japan for girls who are 3 and 7 and boys who are 5. It's a celebration of the growth of the child and a time for parents to pray for their children's prosperity. Families typically go to the local shrine for the ceremony and then go to a photo studio. We just went to pray and take a few pictures. Mia's Japan Grandmother got her the beautiful kimono she's wearing for the occasion and she loved wearing it. She did get tired of Dada taking too many photos after a while. More on Shichi-Go-San [七五三] here.
