Time in My Life.
Welcome friends, God bless you for coming by today-- "Blessed is the spot, and the house, and the place, and the city, and the heart, and the mountain, and the refuge, and the cave, and the valley, and the land, and the sea, and the island, and the meadow where mention of God hath been made and His praise glorified." --Baha'u'llah

Argh, is my baby that old?
Went to see Robert the other day by way of going to Jan's first. Robert seemed to be coming down with a cold, nonetheless he was glad to see us, and introduced us to his roommate, Claire. We all went out for a nice lunch at Macaroni Grill, and shared a dessert together. Needless to say, Roger is now bedbound with a terrible cold. To top it off, Sadie had to have oral surgery because of impending gum disease, and the md said she had a flea infestation!
I have found out that I am prediabetic. I have been journaling my food somewhat randomly in the past, but that is no more! I have seen what diabetes does (to members of my own family), and it will NOT get to me. Starting today, I am journaling every bite that goes into my mouth. I am also trying to hit the gym at least 4 days a week.
Richard's birthday is next month also....I can't believe my boys are 26 and 30.

A day to rest...........
Well, we just got home after a tense weekend visit with Rog's parents, Paul and Mary and the kids. It was a very tense visit and I am glad to be home. Roger's dad is getting pretty frail and his arms are all beat up, and he had a recent fall in the drive, so his face is all beat up also. I really love Paul and Mary's kids, but alas there were many spoken feelings that are too bad to be put down on paper, even if it is cyberspace paper. A lot of negativity.
On a positive note, tomorrow we will go see Jan, then Saturday we will go see Robert. Robert is finally back in school, taking a positive step with his life. He has sounded very upbeat. He has also moved into a nicer place. I have cried many tears and said many prayers for Robert, hopefully it is time for a turnaround in his life.

I got the shingles shot last week and have had no ill effects!!! I highly recommend it to everyone who can get one, after seeing so many people I care about get the Shingles. It is really a pisser of a thing to have. Tomorrow Roger is going to be gone out, going to clean out and sell my old craft stuff that is taking up room.

Changes
It has been so long since I have blogged anything, and I think it is about time that I start again. The most radical thing that has happened in our life is that Roger has retired, largely due to health reasons. Unfortunately he has been diagnosed with cll, a form of leukemia. It breaks my heart every day to think that one day I may be without the person I love so dearly.
Changes with my children are as follows:
Richard has landed a job in DC with the Peace Corps office. It has decent pay, and we visited him, and where he lives. All I can say is; it definately could use a woman's touch.
Robert still lives in Greensboro, and plans on attending school this month. His Pell Grant went thru, and the next time I see him I want to get him some clothes.
I am still on a gluten free diet, trying to lose weight. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, if not more.
I have stopped knitting for the summer, I really hate to knit in the summer, it feels like I have a blanket on me.
I will certainly write more later, I will not let myself forget to blog!

Well, in the past month or so I have really been trying to save as much as I can with coupons. This week I did not do so well; only $35. Last time I did a big grocery buy I saved $79. Who knows if I can do better??????????
