Summer in Sandy
So much has happened since my last post, it's a little embarassing. Fortunately, I havent missed a child's birth, but more than an acceptable number of birthdays! Sorry, family. I will try to capture highlights from our summer.
We left Oregon!! We moved to Sandy last year, and started new jobs out here in Utah. I am still a nurse in the ER, and still working graveyard shifts. (it's the best way to truly understand your community, just be brave enough to see who comes out at night. ). Ben is a golf instructer and manages a local Golftec. If you truly want to learn how to swing a club, you need to talk to Ben. He is doing an amazing job, I am impressed and proud of how hard he works for his family. I love that husband of mine. :)
Just Cute Pics
I just like putting the boys umbrella pic up, They are fun little guys.
Las Vegas, Here we come!
We took the boys with us for a weekend in Vegas, Ben had some business to attend to just outside of the city. We had a lot of fun, and the boys keep asking when we get to go back. The shark tank behind Caleb is at a hotel, and a waterslide runs right through the middle of it. Of course, we had to try it out. Other highlights were the Coke store (naturally), the M&M store, the Bellagio Fountain and Mirage Volcano, and last and most importantly, the swimming pools. We were exhausted, but we made some great memories :)
Strawberry Reservoir
We decided to head up to the reservoir aand take the boys crawdad fishing. It was so much fun! I think I may have had the most fun of all. Caleb liked using the pole to catch them with Buddig Beef on a hook, as did Ben and I. Joshua was so brave, he just scooped them up with his hands if he saw them, and he took them from the hook to the cooler in his spiderman net. Great family time outdoors, our favorite way to hang out.
Knighton Family Reunion
We got together up Logan Canyon with Ben's family for a reunion in August. It was a lot of fun spending time with family and camping. We got to tell stories around the campfire and the boys did a ton of arts and crafts (thank you, Lynda and Joyce). The best part was that all of Ben's siblings got to be together. We are all getting to the age and situation in life where it is hard to get everyone in one place. These opportunities are appreciated and enjoyed. I love living close enough that my kids get to really know their relatives.
Thanksgiving Point
My brother Kirk and his wife Lisa invited us to the farm down at Thanksgiving Point with all of our kids together. We have always loved seeing animals, so this is a fun place to check out. Tuesdays are $2 in the summer, so if you can stand the crowd, you can save some cash. A trailor ride is included, as is a pony ride. A long wait, but well worth it to see those big smiles :)
Kirk and Lisa were very patient and helpful with the boys, we had a great time.
Hanging out at Grandpa's
Well, both of my parents are finally retired, so we get to have a lot of time to spend up at their home. My boys adore their grandparents! Just a couple of fun pictures to show there is plenty of adventure and relaxation at Grandpa's house :)
Matthew is 3!
My baby turned three last week :( I can't believe I am almost out of toddlers. My house is insane, but wonderful at the same time. I am more aware of my shortcomings everyday as I try to lovingly raise three boys in the chaos. I must be in need of patience, which is no surprise to me. Matthew got a Perry the Platypus cake, he love Phineas and Ferb. He got the shark mask for his birthday, but Joshua is making the most of it. The picture of the balloon out back is to show the glowing balloon I found at Walmart. Very fun, and a huge hit with the boys. You can get a bunch of colors, and they don't cost a lot, they are in the party section.
Matthew is a blast, he is my snugglebug and my fiery little attacker. He knows way too many words and understands way too much about what is happening around him. He is going to keep us on our toes. We love you, Matthew!!!
