Maybe just maybe?!?

"We need fathers to step up, to realize that their job does not end at conception; that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child but the courage to raise one." - Barack Obama

Ok I know I know, if you read my opinion on this guy in November posts you are probably thinking 'what the heck' but I just love this quote! Lucky for me and my kids, my hubby is the greatest dad in the world! Hopefully Obama will continue to surprise me with his wisdom :)

The Climb

At the risk of being really cheesy I wanted to put down the words to my new favorite song. I have loved it since it came out but the more I listen to it the more I love it. I have another favorite call Mountains by Lonestar that you may be getting the words to soon as well! I feel a bit like a teeny bopper cause its by Hannah Montana (yes Hannah, not Miley) but it is such a good song for anyone who has ever had or ever will have a trial in their life. I know i'm silly but I don't care :) Here you go. If you want to turn up your music it's on my playlist and you can listen along as you read!!

I can almost see it,
that dream i'm dreamin
but there's a voice inside my head saying you'll never reach it.
Every step i'm taking,
every move i make feels lost with no direction my faith is shakin,
but I.. I gotta keep tryin,
gotta keep my head held high.
There's always gonna be another mountain,
i'm always gonna wanna make it move,
always gonna be an uphill battle,
sometimes i'm gonna have to lose.
Ain't about how fast I get there,
ain't about what's waitin on the other side.....
It's the Climb.
The struggles i'm facin,
the chances i'm takin, sometimes might knock me down but, no i'm not breakin.
I may not know it but these are the moments that i'm gonna remember most ya
just gotta keep goin
and I.. I gotta be strong
just keep pushin on
cause there's always gonna be another mountain,
i'm always gonna wanna make it move,
always gonna be an uphill battle,
sometimes i'm gonna have to lose,
ain't about how fast i get there,
ain't about what's waitin on the other side...
Its the Climb...
There's always gonna be another mountain,
I'm always gonna wanna make it move,
always gonna be an uphill battle,
sometimes you're gonna have to lose,
ain't about how fast i get there,
ain't about what's waitin on the other side...
Its the climb...
Keep on movin
Keep climbin
Keep your faith yeah
It's all about, its all about the climb
Keep your faith
Keep your faith

4 years and 4 months!

Yesterday was Libbi's 4 month checkup and Jerzi's 4 year. Seriously I cannot believe Libbi is 4 months old. SOO crazy! Anyway she looked good, not much change from 2 weeks ago. She got one little shot in her thigh but was super brave! Jerzi got one to but made Libbi go first, she held her hand and said 'its ok honey' but when it came to be her turn she was not so sweet to me! She was crying and being very dramatic, i told the doctor she would probably limp out to the car. She did. She was fine a few minutes later and now tells everyone she got a shot and "it hurt so much like someone was cutting her finger off" What?!? O well gotta love 4 year olds!! Libbi's 4 month statistics are:
Length 24 inches 45%
Weight 11 lbs 14 oz 15%
Head 39.5 cm 15%
Jerzi thinks its pretty funny that they are both '4' They are the cutest girls in the world, i love them so much, my little princesses! Big princess and little princess and Jerzi would say!

DFR 2009

Last weekend we went to Lava for the annual Dixon Family Reunion. It is such a good time to spend with family. We have a good time every year! My dad was nice enough to loan us his motor home this year! I grew up in this thing, it is awesome!

This is the ride there, Koy hanging up top and Lib chillin in the front seat. We were concerned about the no seatbelt deal but after investigating there are no laws for motor homes! Lib had one in the front, but this kids and I had none, we just hung out it was fun!
Cheeseburger!

The girls gettin ready for bed in our new home!

Sweet ride!

Ok so on our way there we had a little mishap. The tread on the tire wore down and we had to pull over and wait for Marv from Malad to come change the tire cause the bolts were too rusty for us to get off with our little tool. Marv had a bigger one and it was still hard but with Kurts strong muscles they got it done! Lucky enough my dad has triple a coverage so it didn't cost us anything, just a 4 hour drive to Lava instead of 2! I think its funny they put the dead tire back on the spare tire spot!! Good times!

Libster swingin away, ahh the relaxation!

A little help from Mother Hen!

The boys playing cards. They are sad it's time to go home.

DFR/Playground and ice cream

We made homemade ice cream.. shake shake shake..

Roasted mallows.. or smoshmollows.. as Jerzi calls them.

More shakin..

Campfire fun!

We had lots of fun on the playground that was in our camp!!

Koy did flips and twists!

Jerzi got hung upside down, she was not to happy!
We also had a huge parachute that the kids LOVED! The adults had a serious volleyball tourney while Jolene entertained the kids with the parachute! We had a good time!

DFR/Swimming/River

We went to the pool 2 days in a row, it was way hot but lots of fun! Koy was such a dare devil, going on the big slides and floating the river! Jerzi had fun on the twirly slides and just bobbing in the pool. Libbi had fun swinging and sweating!
Kurt on the slide.

Koy coming down!! Notice that water??..ya the guy on the purple slide came without me knowing and soaked me and the camera! It stopped working after that for the whole day! I have to steal the river pics from Montay so those will be coming later. I'm glad i got Koy being brave before the camera died!!

DFR/Fishing

We had so much fun fishing, Jerzi even caught her first fish! She wouldn't carry her own fish so Bo carried it for her! It was way cute!!

She would only hold the string.

Sick!!

This was all the fish, they strung them up on a stick, gross! Libbi thought so too!

DFR 2009/Shirts

Libbi with Grandma Jolene

Heaven babies

My kids are experiencing too much info on heaven lately (read next post to hear Koy's experience) Yesterday we went to lunch with our cute friends from Arizona that lost their baby, Jersey, to a heart defect. I had explained to my kids that the kids we were going to meet had a baby sister named Jersey that lives in heaven. It was a very nice time (pic's and more to come later) well then today my Jerzi brought me a stack of about 6 pieces of paper that she had drawn people on and said "Mom these are the babies that live in heaven, one of them is named Jersey" Each page had 2 or 3 people (babies) on them with a rainbow on top :( How sad. She is so cute though and so thoughtful to remember these sweet babies. Way too young to have to experience this type of thing though. Anyway, we will keep these drawings because to me they are super special. And so is my Jerzi and baby Jersey :)

Doctor Ham

Ok so this is totally silly but we were laughing so hard! Koy was asking about my Grandpa Dean (my moms dad) and I was explaining to him that he was named after him. I said..

Me: His name was Jedd Dean and your name is Koy Jedd, see how you are named after him?
K: Who's Doctor Ham?

Ok so I know you probably had to be here for it to be funny but I had to post it so I remember! When I said 'after him' he thought i said 'doctor ham' Ha ha, i love it when kids misunderstand what you say!

On a side note, Kurt just went to say prayers with Koy and when they got done Koy said 'You forgot to pray for Grammys dad' Cute! We watched my Grandpa's video yesterday so he's got him on the brain! I wish my kids would have had the chance to get to know him here on this earth, he died one year before I got married :( This is one of the many reasons I am grateful for eternal families!

O and i just remembered when we were watching the video Koy said "Mom I don't think i liked him in heaven." WHAT?!? I'm sure Koy liked him, they were best of buds i bet! This kid has an imagination i will never understand but that's what makes him so loveable!

The Little things

The ' L I T T L E ' Things~

As you might remember, the head of a company survived 9/11 because his son started kindergarten.
Another fellow was alive because it was his turn to bring donuts.
One woman was late because her alarm clock didn't go off in time.
One was late because of being stuck on the NJ Turnpike Because of an auto accident.
One of them missed his bus.
One spilled food on her clothes and had to take time to change.
One's car wouldn't start.
One couldn't get a taxi.
The one that struck me was the man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning, took the various means to get to work but before he got there, he developed a blister on his foot. He stopped at a drugstore to buy a Band-Aid. That is why he is alive today..
Now when I am stuck in traffic , miss an elevator, turn back to answer a ringing telephone ... All the little things that annoy me. I think to myself, this is exactly where God wants me to be at this very moment..
Next time your morning seems to be going wrong , the children are slow getting dressed, you can't seem to find the car keys, you hit every traffic light, don't get mad or frustrated; It may be just that God is at work watching over you. May God continue to bless you with all those annoying little things and may you remember their possible purpose.

I got this email a few days ago and decided you should all read it as well. Thanks to whoever sent it to me, I can't even remember who it was.

What a nice world

I can't believe what a nice world we live in. In the past week I have received 2 different emails offering me free gifts. One from holditbaby.com letting me know they wanted to give me their toy organizer, this thing is awesome, i can't wait to get it! Someone requested that I get the gift and i'm guessing it's a friend so if it was you, THANK YOU! I am very grateful! There is a link to holditbaby.com on the sidebar. Also, mambaby.com sent me a 6 pack of personalized binkies with 'Libbi' printed on them. I had tried to order them and they weren't shipping to the USA for a while and this nice lady emailed me asking if I could wait until October, I told her I wanted them for the hospital when she has surgery so they didn't get lost and with that she sent them to me free of charge and said good luck with your baby. I just cannot believe the kindness of these wonderful people. It makes my heart warm. Thank you thank you thank you! And not just to those who give free gifts but to all of you who are praying for us and thinking of us. We love you!

Happy Birthday Brock!

Brocks birthday is on the 4th of July so every year we get to have a swimming party with bbq and fireworks! He thinks it is all for him, which it totally is :) This year was another fun time! When I asked the kids first thing in the morning what we celebrate today Koy said 'Brocks Birthday' ha ha! We do!

Our family watching fireworks!
The whole gang, minus Netso who was taking the pic and Scott who was cleaning up the fireworks!
Libbi's first firework show! She loved it, can you tell? Really she just watched with big eyes.. No cries, no smiles just ahh!

Red White and Blue

Matching kids. So cute! This is the last day at the cabin, all the kids and dads in front of the fort. What a masterpiece!

We told the kids to do something funny and this is what we got, I think its pretty good! Ha ha! Boston flexing his muscles (that is Chase in him), Aubree striking a pose and Koy being Koy! As for Jerzi and Hudson.. I'm not sure what they are doing.. but it's funny!

Happy 4th of July!!

We came home first thing Saturday morning for more 4th of July fun at home!

The movie

The kids made a movie at the cabin, or many little movies i guess. We have it on video and it was hilarious! Here are just a few shots of them.

The end, they are bowing.

Koy, the ninja

The 2 evil doctors. Boston is drinking the poison, he was a vampire.

Jerzi the evil doctor

All of them entering the room. Its fun to see the kids imaginations! They came up with some pretty funny movies!

Out of town for the 4th!

This year we decided to take a little trip for the weekend. My kids were sooo excited to go 'out of town' since we don't do it much! Jana's family has a cabin in Midway and they invited us to go with them for a couple of days. The kids had a blast, it was a fun trip!

Libbi found the mirror on her new swing, she loved it! (yes we took the swing to the cabin! I must be hanging out with Jo too much, i packed everything but the kitchen sink!)

The boys (the big boys) decided to build a fort. If you give these 2 a project it will not be a simple little project! They spent all night building this fort! The kids loved it so it was worth it!

The dirty kiddos! Gotta love camping!
