Alpine Slide

On Saturday Cameron had to do some work in Park City so we decided to go along with him. While we were up there we thought it might be fun to do the Alpine Slide with the kids. Grace was super excited that we were going to ride the chair lift up because she really wanted to ride one after seeing them at Sundance a couple of weeks ago. Grace and I went first and she loved every second of it. Then Cameron and Blake headed up. Cameron said Blake took hold of the control stick and full throttled it all the way down. To bad baby girl couldn't go, so was super sad about that. Above is Cameron and Blake at the end of their ride. Grace and I headed down.
Grace and I headed up on the chair lift. In some spots it got really windy and I got a little nervous. Grace thought I was being silly.

1st Grade

This week Grace started 1st grade. She has been super excited but I think a little nervous too because she did ask me to come to school the first morning not ride the bus like last year, I was glad she asked so I could snap some pictures. I don't think she quite understood what she was in for with the all day thing because the night before school started she told me that she would just be at recess all morning until the kindergartners got there. I tired to explain that that wasn't true but she said when we got there everyday last year the first graders were out playing so clearly that means they had been out there all day. I just gave up explaining and decided she will figure it out when she gets there. Also half way through the first day the office called my cell to see if I could bring her new shoes because the new ones she insisted on wearing had rubbed blisters. My friend Jen was nice enough to come sit with Lucy since I had just put her down and I ran up there with her flip flops. She was so relieved. I do think she is enjoying it especially since she hasn't had any homework!

I can Ride my Bike with No Training Wheels!

Last week Blake came in the house and ann
ounced that he wanted to learn to ride his bike without training wheels and he did. At first he was having a little trouble and ran into a garbage can, the curb and the little neighbor girl. He got really frustrated and said he was done. He then went in the house and got his elbow pads(he couldn't find the knee pads or he would have had them too) and said "Let's do this thing" and he did. He hasn't been as excited about it as Grace, where she rode and rode and rode after learning, I think he has only ridden once since then but hey he can do it!
