:O) i dont think i actually have an all-time favourite colour..really depends on what suits my fancy at that particular moment. i do think, though, that blue is a happy colour. but then again, everything is a happy colour really. it just depends on how it is contextualised...how it is used, what it is used for, what it might represent for the subject/individual. colour is wonderful..it has the power to manipulate and even stipulate the think tank, yet it encourages interaction...it's a symbiosis of sorts. we feed off each other. classic human activity. colour has become synonymous with progress...artificial and unrealistic yet symbolic of technological development and capability. are we a society of nit-wit dreamers who's (collective) idea of utopia is being realised (& re-imagined) into a land of the inanimate? perhaps. do we like it? perhaps. do we want to change it? hmmmm...maybe before we reach a pollution-inducing stage...perhaps.

"Friends don't occur by the bunch.
It only takes one to be rich with abundance"
(Susan Faith)

a bigass nod and AYE. but when u are lucky enough to have a group of them...it's kinda like catching a falling star...you keep it safe in your shirt pocket...altho saving it for a rainy day is really a matter of opinion. for me, putting it in the pocket is a question of logistics...the star then is closer to the heart..literally. that's where i keep mine, at least.my group of 'em. the clothing apparel i don may change now and again but that particular spot is reserved, pocket or no pocket. love, peace, hugs, kisses.

saturday: rocked and rolled!! :O) Jet was really kewl!! sounded totally awesome. there was also a guest electric pianist (organist?) for a few songs, and this guy had only rehearsed with them the night before the gig. he was damn kewl to watch!(funky hair and all) also heard/watched Mess Hall (two bandmembers: one on electric guitar, the other on drums).the guitarist has the nicest teeth ever!
(the gooode moosic more than made up for the crap indian food we ate before that!!ew!) the gig ended at 12.30am. we made our way back to the city for kfc (yeh..some ppl cant get enuff of the stuff), then decided to go down to the cherry bar for more rocking & rolling in honour of andre's birthday (13thofjuly). *HAPPPPPPYYYYYY BIRTTTHHHHHDAAAAAYYYYY ANDRE! :O)
we sat ourselves down in a corner, chilled, ppl watched, & sang along to the music booming from the jukebox.then lo and behold..who should come in to chill but the members of Jet!!! very the happnin. finally called it a night at 3.30am.
oh and did i mention that all four of us (prema, jem, andre,me) were rendered semi-deaf after the concert? well, yesh. we seriously had problems hearing after coming outta the corner hotel, and later on experienced 'deafening' buzzing noises over the next 2 days. it's all goode now. no really. watt wats that? waat?
:O)
i cant quite explain it, but i feeel like i had a gigantenormous amount of fun. looking back, it doesnt really ...the only way to describe the feeling: a bowl of woohoos, a toss of yeahyeahs, and a splash of ahuhs. WOOOHOOOOOOO!

sunday: the three of us (from the nite before) gave andre a cake surprise at his place! twas rather funny.went for coffee after that. puff, milton,&prema's sister (shalini) joined us. rather nice way to end the mid year holidays.
:O)

Tuesday, July 15, 2003

the weekend was pretty kewl. spent it wif pretty kewl ppl(haha..no really!) listening (and singing along, in some instances) to pretty kewl music. kewl? awesome.
friday: watched charlie's angels 2 with puff..(was bugged into it!!), but was in the mood for nonsense, so found it quite fun!! really like the soundtrack! woohoo.
then, we went for an experimental sounds gig at the rmit carpark.was interesting, to say the least. the star guests were these two guys from california who were on a tour thingy: randy yau & scott arford. the act i liked the most was a duo that combined the sounds of a drum set and an electronic-sound manipulator-board thingamajic. their piece...the name kinda sums it up: Machina aux Rock. damn kewl.
after that, i left puff (who was actually working as a volunteer at the event) and went on to the clyde just in time to hear a rather drunk terry in his element, accompanied by an equally drunk steve on electric guitar. both are andre's housemates. judging by their drunken performance, they must sound even kewler when sober.. next time around then!

Friday, July 11, 2003

I AM FULL OF NONSENSE. haha. ok. got that outta my system. i had a whole bunch of things to post so that i can look back and remember etc. man, it's a bugger when u can't remember things. where to start...ok. what's been a-hapnin this week..well, woogles stayed wif me from friday to wednesday afternoon. she's currently earned a title from me. kay, not gonna post it cos it looks bad in black and white (seeing as it's rather colourful language and all). all thru last weekend and monday and for a few intense hours on tuesday, prema and i 'worked' on a special project. twas fun,and kinda good time spent together seeing as we dont see each other much during the semester. had MSA meeting on monday (first one for me this year!).
tuesday:dinner wif mary, pee, andre, jem, milton, and george @bimbo deluxe on brunswick st. that was pretty funny. surprise post-b'day dinner-cake thingy for jem but wif many manny boo boos. damn funny! :O)
wednesday: helped out (sorta!) wif the MSA stall for the community fair @ rmit (orientation week). went for dinner wif woogles and tee and am still feeeling full!! spent the nite at prema's for some inane reason. THANX PEEE!!! twas damn comfy!!
thursday: got up, went home (actually practically walked all the way..why i bother wif a monthly ticket is beyond me...the trams werent running on swanston and when i got on one at flinders to st kilda road, there was a massive tram jam.argh), had a bath, went out again to meet prema & andre for lunch at boba (chaitowkuey...yumm!),then did a whole bunch of miscellaneous things after. hmmmm. went to school, came home, had dinner, cousin came over, went for coffee, came home and got online... going to have a bath and sleep soon (enuff).
plans for friday: gonna meet puff at some point during the day. going for an experimental sound event at the rmit basement carpark wif her, then gonna try to make to the clyde for andre & co's gig.
saturday: going to watch Jet. rock and rolll anyone?
ARGH! i am in the final stages of my holidays!! as mary pointed out..this may be the FINAL proper SCHOOOOL/uni holiday we have. ugh. DOUBLE ugh. can hardly believe am in my final semester (erm, hopefully..i mean, as long as there's no repeating business) of my undergrad. shhhheeeeeet. but it's ALLL GOOOODE! i've got me choclets and a bit of new order keeping me company on this RATHER cold winter night. wooohooO!

Thursday, July 03, 2003

in regards to the holidays, some things deserve special mentions. first up, okay so i didnt just sit around this place throughout the WHOLE of the hols...(or wats passed thus far). went to cairns for about 5 days (but technically only had 3 full days to explore) while my parents were here. yeh, talk about exciting! saw a part of the great barrier reef (Moore Reef), a turtle and many schools of fish; did a passby of Fitzroy Island; went up to Cape Tribulation;did a tour of the Daintree Rainforest (complete with crocodile and snake sightings) and stopped along the way at a fruit farm place that serves up good ole homemade (at the grounds) Daintree ice cream; and drove to some of the beaches...the one at port douglas is pretty nice, but kinda tourist infested. funny thing is that this trip actually makes the want to visit sabah even bigger! (tropical rainforests, wild river rafting etc). raw stuff. nice!
and...WOOOOGLES HAS ARRIVED IN MELBOURNE! :O) hopefully she's brought some of the queensland sunshine with her... woohoo!
okay. that was a bit of a longwinded entry. hmmm. but needed to get it all out..havent been able to log into the blog until today!! anyways, wanna wish my bwigbwadderr (think cow and chicken..an all time favourite!) a belated HAPPPPPPPPPPY 29th BIIIIIIRRRRRTHHHHHHDAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! twas on the 30th of june, but 3 days late is not too bad (by my standards...no really). have an ABSOLUTE BLAST and LURVEYALOTS! :O)
3 weeks on... my parents left a week ago (schniff schniff), i stressed about work and stuff over the weekend (but didnt actually get much done), then spent some quality time wif the kewlest ppl ever!! (and yes, kewl ppl stick around thru it all..ie.cheap tix, winter holidays, somewhat greener pastures yonder ocean).ahem. wat did we do? well..friday: school, then was pretty uneventful. saturday: school, miscellaneous stuff, went to NightCat (brunswick st) to listen to a hiphop/trip-hop fusion band (cant remember the name at this point) with pee, andre, and dave. they were damn goode..very kewl. kinda like the roots. that sort of thing. sunday: uneventful. monday:ahh,we get more interesting here on. went to school wif mary to do school stuff and saw a whole bunch of international students (int'l as in from places other than south-east asia) and contemplated joinin in on the festivities for a bit, but then decided to get on with all that is part of being a 3rd year student (dont ask!). after a while, pee joined us, then off we went on our merry way to vic mart where we made a pit stop for yummmyfying sri lankan style indian food. after that we did a bit of fresh food shopping, altho by the time we were done eating, MANY of the shops were closing or closed. on our way to mary's place after that, we did a coffee stop and YUMMY dessert stop at this cute lil cafe on queensberry st. twas damn nice. after chillin for a bit at mary's, we went to the safeway at new market, had laksa king laksa for dinner, then went back to mary's place and watched tennis and ate raspberry jello with lychees. puff also came over wif her fren for a bit to pick up the extra mattress for her visiting frens. next thing i knew, was staying over.....THANX MARY FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT HOST!! was so comfortable!! was well fed, given a nice elaborate makeshift bed, and even had a soft toy for the night! :O) next day, we (pee, mary,& i) went to errol's on errol st for brunch. again, a most yummmyfying experience! (now about that fruit and water diet...)

Saturday, June 14, 2003

sooo...my parents have arrived!! haha..their annual "let's-go-freeze-and-walk-around-aimlessly-cos-there's-nothing-to-do-here" visit. they;ve been here since thursday..and it's been raining since! ok, am exagerrating a tad..the skies actually held up today (even though all the forecasts have been for showers all thru to monday) and we enjoyed a late afternoon out walkin and walkin and walkin (from the cbd to bridge road to swan street to southbank..and am predicting another walk back to the cbd). yes, we knew exactly what we were doin..no really. anyways, it's time for me to get off and get out..going to meet juice and blossh for dessert (woohooo!) at the blue train cafe. yummmmers. laterz!
*wait wait, one more thing.....HAPPPPY BIRRTHHHHDAYYYY JEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O)

Thursday, June 12, 2003

existen'tialism: philosophy that man can only be free through full consciousness of his illogical position in a meaningless universe.
HOW AM I GOING TO HANDLE THE end OF THE YEAR?? already am feeling kinda sad and am missing uni life and FRIENDS(even though i am still officially in uni with another gruelling six months to go!). no diggity, no doubt, will get a grip (or lose it...but that's another matter altogether) and will be ready to take on the world! wooohoooo!!
in the meantime...
minz and jem: have a GoodandSafe flight back home (and well, exciting one if u do yell ShOtGuN..)!! will miss yall loads. really really :O) haf fun go mad & eat eat eat!!!
i';ve just been reminded of an incident that occurred during the horse outing... one of the riders in the group fell off her horse during the trail, and it was a bit of a shocker for the rest of us cos she didnt move for quite a bit, so much so even the guide riders got pretty worried. i didnt realize this until my rather stubborn horse, jolly, decided to not heed my instructions (yet again) and continued trotting off the trail for what seemed like a closer look...or maybe he just wanted to snack on the grass (yet again)..but watever it was, he made ME look like a real 'kehpoh', whilst everyone else (save for friends of the poor girl) stayed on the trail!! oh well.. makes for yet another goode laugh!!! oh, and dont worry, the girl did get up after a bit. she was ok, just a lil (ok, a lot) shaken, but no serious injuries, thank goodness!

Tuesday, June 10, 2003

oh and another funny thing (and yes, i am suppposed to be doing work now..watever!), went grocery shopping on sunday nite (after coming home from the trip and having a BIGASS bath etc) with bloss and reg (my housey) and bumped into mary and serene, and then later, (yes, the operative word is LATER) jem and stace!! yup, safeway is definitely the place to be on a sunday nite. drinks, food, moosic...happenin media students..what more could u ask for? :O) rightey-ho then. back to the books we go!! chezels.
THE WEEKEND: was up all night friday doing research and reading (sort of!!) and packing for the trip. what trip? the overnighter in portsea (near sorrento..or maybe it's considered off sorrento...hmm..will have to check that one up) with juice, bloss (sunshine), and seven other friends of juice's.
anyways, i left the house at 6.30 am (saturday) for sunshine's place in north melbourne (via tram). i guess sunshine and i were pretty damn excited (or stressed crazy) cos we made quite a lot of noise..erm, sorry serene and mary if we woke yall up!! the journey proper began officially at about 8.15am..with a pitstop at mcd's for brekkie. we arrived at portsea camp about 2 hours or so later...unloaded some gear, then went off again to see the London Bridge (rock formation). then went off again to Point Nepean National Park to do a bit of bushwalking (rain walking?), then wentback to camp (literally! the place was a former army barracks) to chill out, play volleyball, play on the bigass slide, play chess (!!)and have dinner. i had a bit of a snooze..ahem ..(kudos to bloss for persevering in her attempts to coax me out of slumberland for a whole 15minutes), then we chilled out some more, did a walkabout (runabout) in the dark, and stargazed.
next day, we "rock-climbed" at the rock beach in cape shanck, watched the huge waves...choppy sea and all, got wet shoes, and took loads of photos (to make up for the lack of film the previous day!). on our way back, half of us detoured to a horse ranch, Ace High, and did a spot of a horseriding...i got Jolly, who kept wanting to eat grass.. :O) it was pretty cold and rained for a bit during the trail, but it was still a good experience!
made our merry way back after that, and reached the city at 6.30 pm. it was a pretty relaxing time...and as juice said, definitely have to do another trip in summer!

Thursday, June 05, 2003

oh and more thing...JUICE!!! where's ur spot?!! and let's have another online singing session with "roll to me" and "freshmen", ok? set? set!!! :O)
joyce: our resident champion badminton player. a long-legged beauty with the cheekiest smile and most happenin lifestyle.
kewl? definitely. wanna meet her? erm, u gotta catch her if u can... did i mention hyperactive? yeh. definitely.
hehe..yes,i am still working on this...erm, getting all the nonsense outta my system so that i'll be able to have total concentration on my work, in a bit. no really.
an ode to my mena: visit stucks' blog!
:O) am i losing it? i think so. but it's ok. cos we all need to lose it sometimes, in order to get back on track and keep sight of it!! it is then, that we realize what we need and want and should do. btw, something tells me i'm going to be making major changes to my posts later on (when i have somewhat resumed a normal/widely acceptable state of mind). but for now, thus goes my 2cents worth of philosophical input!

Wednesday, June 04, 2003

waiiiiiiittttttt! now, how can i possibly leave without having BIGass SHOUTOUTS to all of the ya[zoo]! hey all!! :O) special mention for mena!! mapo todu and all... :O)
i am having a major case of cravings. i need pasta. or maybe i just need food other than toast, peanut butter and jam. maybe just maybe. u think? i think i need to get out more. or maybe i just need food other than peanut butter and jelly toast. hmmmmm... strawberry jam and peanut butter and bread. bread and peanut butter and strawberry conserve.
nah, any way it's said, it still comes back to the same thing.. i need proper foood!
erm, plain pasta shells? u think?
so i pretty much spent the whole night playing around with the set up...pretty kewl. now if i only knew how to add stuff in... :O) slowly, but surely..someday!! right now is probably not the best of times. why? come come, let me give you a rundown:
*exam next week
*essays due
*testing endurance levels..."coming to terms with procrastination and doing without!"

and yes, it is pretty much obvious that i'm doing exceedingly well one the last one.. :O)
back to the books i go...sigh.
MY VERY FIRST POST(ing)!!! Am quite excited..hmmmm...an advancement in the life of Cheryl Menon!! (techno-savvy ppl and webbies, watch this space!!heheh) Ok. Am really curious to see how this looks on site, so off I go a-investigating! :O)
