Kalin's Very 1st Soccer Game and Update

Hi everyone!

Long time no post. It's not that we haven't had anything to report, we are insanely busy!
UPDATES:

Kenna - Kenna is growing, changing and getting more attitude by the day. She is a joy to be around and always lightens the mood. Kenna began dance in August. I think she is enjoying the tap and gymnastics. She is really looking forward to wearing an outfit like Kalin's for her recital.
Kalin - Kalin decided that this year she wants to play soccer. After 3 years of avoiding it, we finally said yes. We had no idea how much time and effort goes into having a soccer player. But she is LOVING it! And she is really coming along. We were very proud of her first soccer game and really looking forward to the next one.

Toby - As for me, I am doing well. A couple of days before school started I burned my arm real bad with grease. But that is doing much better. It will probably still scar but it is fading more than we thought it would. Also, I decided back in August that I was going to commit to running a half marathon in Dec. Wow-e-wow, that is a difficult feat, even more so being a soccer all the time. But I am still committed. I am up to 5 miles. I still have a ways to go... (Literally and figuratively)

Chris - Unfortunately, Chris' company, which he has worked for for 10 years, has decided to close. (Dang the economy) so Chris is currently looking for a job...

Family stuff:
We had many great vacations this summer.
We went to San Antonio and went to Sea World and Fiesta Texas. Then we went to OKC for Addy's 1st birthday. Next, we were off to KS for Chris' aunt’s funeral.

Finally we ended the trips with our 4th of July trip to Kerrville. All were wonderful and relaxing. The rest of the time the girls and I were at the pool. Ahhh, we love summer!

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to the opening Tech game and to tailgate. It was awesome!

In a couple of weeks we are suppose to go to the Balloon Fiesta and of course more soccer, so hopefully another update won't be to far away.

Take care everyone!

THE story!

Ok, I know that everyone has been wanting to hear the story so here goes.
November 3rd:
I am sitting in my lab working with a science teacher. She was complaining about how high her rent was. soooo I made the off comment of, "Hey, you ought to buy my house. It would be cheaper and it would be yours." Finished in laughs, no big deal right?

December 2nd:
Well, the teacher is back in my lab and asked, "Hey, were you serious about selling your house?" I said, "Sure." Still thinking -- what are the odds? Should I tell Chris, na -- it's all just talk, isn't it? And besides she hadn't even seen the house!

December 8th:
The teacher comes in and says that she has talked to the bank and is pre-qualified for a loan. And when can we sit down and hammer out the details.
"WHAT!!!??????" I think the color and all the blood drained from my face! The first thing I thought was, "Oh my gosh, I have to go tell my husband I sold his house" the second was, "Well, do you want to come by and SEE the house?"

So, I get home and start the conversation with, "So, what would you say if I told you I sold our house?"
He was not as thrilled --

We sat on it a couple of weeks (I was careful not to be pushy -- no comments please about this line) and Chris toyed with the idea, but thinking more for the future, maybe summer might not be to bad.

January 15th (and the 2 weeks following):
The teacher tells me that she has put in her 60 days notice to her land lord. (I would type what I was thinking now, but it wasn't really nice -- soooooo)
Now I was in trouble go mode! Chris agreed to go visit a realtor and begin looking at houses. This was a huge step. However, he was still not convinced this was a good idea.
We looked at about 20 houses and had pretty much decided on one. Then we walked into THE house. Chris said what I was thinking, "This is IT!"

Ok, now I have him hooked! (Even if he won't admit it!) He likes it, but are we really selling our house!????

February 2:
I fly off to Austin leaving all this behind (or so I thought). Things continued to progress while I was gone and that Friday right after I got off the plane we signed contracts!!! Oh yes we did!!!

Is this a GOD thing or what!

So it is now the week of Feb 9th and we have had all the inspections and now waiting on final financing and appraisals to come through. It LOOKS as though this crazy thought of "Hey, you ought to buy my house," is actually going to come to reality! Who else could have pulled this off?

Oh ya -- we will close March 12. Hmmmm.....Nov 2nd to March 12 - Not bad!
And so ends the story of how I accidentally sold my house!

Long time...No blog

Ok, so it has been FOREVER since I posted... That is because I live in Lubbock, not much happens here. But I will try to catch you up. This will be -- Klameth's in a Nutshell!

April - Well in March we had me break my elbow. I was trying out skateboarding, needless to say I won't be appearing in the next X-Games. Then Kenna had to one up me and fall off a rock climbing wall at the park and split her chin open. Nothing real eventful!

May - Finally school was out. We had Kalin's last dance performance... She has decided that she wants to just do gymnastics. I was a little sad but it was her decision. These are just a few pictures of the big girl.

June - June was just a busy travel month. We received some heart wrenching news that my sister-in-law had lost Bryce, the little boy twin. On June 20th Addyson and Bryce were born. Addyson is just a doll. Even under the circumstances we had a good time in OKC seeing everyone.

July - July 4th we decided to take off to the hill country and spend the 4th with Chris' family. We had a blast. Chris' aunt has a beautiful ranch home outside of Kerrville and we had a ball letting the kids roam, fishing, playing, eating!! Great times!

Ok, I might as well mention here that I got braces.

July 18th was Kenna's 3rd birthday. Instead of a big celebration though we headed back to OKC for Bryce's memorial. It was very bittersweet and appropriate. It makes we thankful everyday that I had healthy babies...

August already!!! Where did the time go! We got new carpet at the beginning of Aug, YEA!!! Then back to school I went. I really enjoy my job so it wasn't too bad going back. Kalin's started 1st grade -- She LOVES it!
September - That brings us up to date. I told you not much was happening! We are back in the groove of things. Kalin has Girl Scouts, both the girls have gymnastics and I have (once again to my dismay) cheerleaders. So we are busy but happy!

Ruidoso Thursday!

We have had A DAY!!!

First off we got up and went to one of Jordon's favorite places for breakfast, the Log Cabin. It was pretty good food.

Then we went to the cabin that Warren and Toni had had for some time and was one of Toni's favorite places. Jordon put the ashes in the water. It was beautiful and very fitting. It was kind of a surreal experience.

After that we went up the mountain to go tubing. It was so fun. Kalin enjoyed it best of all. These are all the pictures of the girls playing in the snow and on the inter tubes.
Above is up at Ski Apache...

Below is tubing... Like I said Kalin loved it. Kenna would get in the tube, lay back and chill...
Bottom left, Kalin is "flying" by in the tube. The middle bottom is Kenna on the tube with Bill (Jordon's boyfriend) the person to the left taking a picture is Rian, one of Jordon's friends. And bottom right is Kalin hauling her tube back up for anther run.
Good day!

On to Ruidoso! Girls Trip

Well, Chris and I made it back to Amarillo with very little excitement. Matter of fact between almost running out of gas in the middle of nowhere and his flight being canceled it was VERY uneventful.

This morning (Wed) the girls and I headed up to Ruidoso. It was an interesting trip. I actually
haven't made a trip with just me driving in a LONG time. But we made it we even stopped in Kenna, New Mexico and took pictures!

(Just in case you are wondering Chris flew to Dallas to get our new truck)

After we got to Ruidoso, we checked into our cabin. The girls (mainly Kalin) thought it was so cool that we were staying in a log cabin. Behind our cabin is nothing but trees and mountain. I had told the girls that we could go hiking on the mountain so where better to start than right outside our cabin!

After a while of hiking and playing we decided to go get a snack and ran across pony rides!

Right across the street from the pony rides was a river, so of course we had to stop and throw rocks!

We have had a good time. I am not sure what today (Thur) will hold. We have to do some family stuff then the day is ours. Should be fun!
