The first night there, the kids had to go to the beach! It was super foggy (it reminded me of our days in SF). It was cold! The water was freezing, but none of my 3 children cared. All they wanted to do was get in the water! Crazy kids!!!
The next morning (very bright and early) we headed over to Cannon Beach to visit the famous Haystack (aka the Goonie's) rock. It was a gorgeous morning!
We got up so early, so we could enjoy the amazing tide-pools at the base of Haystack rock. There were sea anemones and starfish and muscles everywhere!!!
After the tide-pools, we spent sometime just relaxing at the beach...
The kids played in the sand and again, went into the freezing cold water!
Rocco loved getting himself all sandy!
These 2 had a blast running all over the beach and playing together!
That evening we explored Seaside a bit. We took the kids on the carousel...
Then we let the kids feed the seagulls a whole bag of bread. They thought it was great!
Then the big kids ventured down to the water again. Stella wasn't feeling the walk, so I stayed behind to let her play in the sand. All of a sudden I hear "Mom, I'm sandy!" I look over to see her whole face covered in sand. I couldn't stop laughing. I guess she took a face plant!
The next day we went to the aquarium in Seaside. It was very tiny, but had all sorts of things for the kids to touch and hold. They also had seals that you could feed. They each had their own unique trick they would do, to get you to give the fish to them. It was really cool and something I've never seen at an aquarium before!
Our last stop before heading home, was Ecola State Park. It is right next to Cannon Beach. The views in the park were amazing!
And we, of course, had to go to one last beach in the Park.Stella sat and played in the sand, while the boys took a walk on the beach. The boys then decided they were going to go all the way into the ocean, but they only made it to their waists (besides Rocco, who got taken down by a wave!).
