Stella at 2 Years Old

We cannot believe our little Stelly Belly is already 2! She is seriously the sweetest, but sassiest little girl you will ever meet! She weighs 30 pounds (85%) and is 36 inches tall (90%). What can I say? We have big kids! I guess she got tall jeans from my side of the family too!

Stella is quite the talker. She will mimic just about anything you say. She knows all the animal names and sounds. She knows all sorts of songs like Abc's, Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Your Boat, etc. and loves to sing all of them. She loves to look at books. She loves to put stickers on anything. She is such a great self entertainer and will just sit and play with her toys by herself. She loves to give kisses. She loves to try and boss her big brother around. She can go from 10 on the sweetness scale to 100 on the sassy scale in a matter of seconds! She is trying to drop her naps and only takes them about 50% of the time and then ends of falling asleep in the car or at dinner (see below) later in the day. But I can't really complain, since she will just play quietly in her crib the whole time she is supposed to be taking a nap. She is currently getting in her last two 2nd year molars (hooray for being done with teething!). She has become quite the social little girls - she loves to leave us and go play at the gym, or go to nursery, or go to anyone but us! In fact, when other family is around she wants nothing to do with us!

We love you Stella! We are the luckiest parents to have you in our lives!

Stella's 2nd Birthday

Stella turned 2 on December 14th. We kept it pretty low key - especially with all the craziness of the Holiday Season. We got her a kitchen for her Birthday.
We took her to Jump City. She was a little unsure at first but finally got into it.
These 2 rascals (Logan & Brecken) on the other hand never stopped!
We went back to the house for Cake and Presents. Stella wasn't that into opening presents. After she opened one, she just wanted to play with that toy. The big kids kept getting her to open another one, but she just wanted to enjoy the toys she had already opened.
Stella with her Mickey & Minnie ice-cream cake. We opted for an ice-cream cake this year to avoid the gagging that took place last year. And I'm happy to say she thoroughly enjoyed her cake this year!
She made the funniest expression when we told her to blow out the candles.

Happy Birthday Stella! We sure do love you!!!

Family Photos

Back in November we had our photos taken by the talented Elizabeth. The location was in Castle Pines and it was gorgeous! But very windy - hence our sort of crazy hair! We brought Rocco to make Stella smile, but instead he just ran off and we were afraid he fell off the cliff of rocks. Logan ended up crying because he had let the leash go. Stella didn't want to cooperate at all unless we were singing "Abc's" or "giving kisses" (hence, all the kissing shots). Although, photos shoots with the "littles" stresses me out, I love the end result!

Breckenridge

After the New Year, Eric had a few days off. We decided to take advantage of it, and spend a few days up in the Mountains. My Mom and Sister were in town so they were able to come with us.

First up, we stopped at Copper Mountain for some tubing. It was really cold and snowing. It made for slower tubing, though, so I wasn't quite as freaked out as last year going down on straight ice.

Logan was just happy to be in the snow!
We then went on a horse-drawn sleigh ride and enjoyed hot chocolate & smores.

The next day we skiied the slopes of Breckenridge. Logan took a full day lesson and was on the chair lift slopes the entire time. He did awesome!

Santa Train in Georgetown

Every year we go to Georgetown to ride the Christmas Train. This was our 4th year doing it but the first time we went after Christmas. Eric had to work but my Mom and Sister joined us. Santa was still there but he was in his "vacation" clothes.

It was gorgeous & cold, as always!
Stella & Logan pretty much looked out the train windows the entire time. This was the first year Stella we "got it" and she sure did love it!

Christmas in Arizona

We spent this Christmas in Arizona with my family. We were there almost 2 weeks and we had such a good time!

Stella is doing much better on the plane these days. I think it has something to do with having her own seat and being entertained my cartoons and stickers...
We had to go to Peter Piper Pizza while we were there. The kids were in heaven! Logan hit the jackpot on one games so they had plenty of tickets to get prizes at the end!
When we went to the mall to see Santa the kids immediately spotted the carousel, so of course we had to go on it!
Brixton loved having Logan around to rough house with! He had to sit by Logan on the carousel!
My newest niece, Brea, was blessed while we were there! So glad we got to join her on her special day!

We went to see lights at the Mesa Temple - along with everyone else in AZ!
Uncle Chad let the bathtub get really full one night. The kids didn't complain - they were having the time of their lives splashing bubbles and water everywhere!
Stella &Berkeley in their matching outfits Grammy got for them!
The kids at Amazing Jakes - I was told they had a lot of fun there! (I was too busy being sick with the Flu in bed)
One night we did a scavenger hunt for Santa to find all the things that fell out of his sleigh. The kids loved it!
But they were all fighting over the "whistle"...
Stella helping with storytime before bedtime!
These 2 did a lot of crafts with Auntie while the younger 2 were taking naps. They loved it!
Christmas Eve in our Christmas Jammies...
Christmas morning - going through all their goods in their stockings. Stella had to prance around in her Minnie shoes!
We went to the Phoenix Children's Museum while we were there. It sort of puts Denver's to shame! There were so many fun things for the kids to do!
We got Santa photos while we were there. It was kind of a crazy process but we did it. We couldn't get Stella to smile but at least she didn't have a complete meltdown like last year!
