6 Weeks

I can't believe Logan is SIX WEEKS already - he is getting so BIG so fast! Our little fatty weighs 12 lbs, 9 ounces now and has moved on to his 3-6 month clothes. He hides most of his weight in his Buddha belly, but is starting to get some rolls in his legs as well!We recently switched him to soy formula, which has made the biggest difference. He spits up so much less and is a MUCH happier baby! Now, if I could just cut milk products out of my own diet I am sure he would be even a better baby - but I am afraid I would probably quit nursing if I had to do that. Logan still loves to cuddle and has recently discovered his fist for sucking. He is sleeping up to 5-6 hours straight at night and then will usually do another 4 hour stretch. It has been Heavenly! Last night he even went to bed at a decent hour (10pm) for the first time. He started smiling this past week and we love that he interacts with us more now!We just love our little guy to death!

A Day in Santa Cruz...

Every Memorial Weekend we go camping in Santa Cruz. With a brand new baby in tow this year, we didn't want to take on the crazy adventure of camping - middle of the night feedings just don't sound fun when you are in a tent! So, we headed to Santa Cruz for the day with my parents on Saturday - my sister was already there camping. We first stopped off at the O'Neil Sale - if you have ever been in Santa Cruz on Memorial Weekend then you know what I am talking about. We got ourselves some great deals and then we headed to Capitola to do some shopping and eat some pizza from "Pizza My Heart." The sun finally decided to come out, so we headed to New Brighton Beach where we enjoyed a long walk - Rocco especially had fun! Afterwards, we got some dinner and then headed over to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It was FABULOUS to be able to go on roller coasters again - and I thoroughly enjoyed,as always, the Giant Dipper. I think it is my all time favorite roller coaster! Once we were done with the boardwalk, we headed back to the campsite to warm ourselves up next to the fire while we enjoyed hot chocolate, apple cider and my favorite, s'mores! We visited with old friends for a few hours and then finally headed home. We got back to San Francisco around 2 am and after feeding Logan, got to bed around 3 in the morning. We didn't feel so hot the next day, but it was well worth it!

Rocky and His Baby...

Rocco has this stuffed animal that he literally nurses every morning. I got it for him when he was still a puppy and all on his own, he started sucking on the nose. He will do it with his eyes closed and he moves his front paws while he is doing it - he looks just like a puppy nursing his mom! He doesn't like anyone to watch him do it...I wish I could get a picture of it, but he would never allow that! It has become even funnier in the past few months - he chews up all stuffed animals we give him in a matter of days. He LOVES getting the stuffing out of them. BUT...he has never attempted this with what we call his "baby." I have had to buy a few replacement stuffed animals due to the wear and tear from the washing machine. The last time I went to PETCO they only had a replacement that was similar to his baby. I thought it would work, but oh no...he had it torn up in a few days as well. I don't know what we are going to do when this one falls apart!
On a side note...I had to include this picture of Rocco as well. As you can see, Rocco wasn't too thrilled when Eric put Logan's hat on his head!

Giant's Game

For Eric's Senior ditch day, a bunch of people from his class went to a Giant's game. We went along and brought Logan too! We got him a Giant's sweatshirt so he could be an "official" Giant's fan. He basically slept the whole time we were there, besides a few startle jumps when people really got loud.

Mother's Day

It was my first "official" Mother's Day. We had high hopes of finally going to church, but Logan had other ideas of his own. He decided it would be a really great gift to his mommy to stay up all night the night before Sunday. At 6:30am, when Logan was finally falling asleep, Eric and I decided church would have to wait until the following Sunday. We all got up around noon and Eric made me brunch. Then we got ready for the day and headed off to Vacaville to meet my family for dinner. Of course, Logan was an angel baby the rest of the day! It was really nice to see my family and get out of the house a bit. As you can see I weaseled my way into getting the Frye boots I was/am obsessed with. As previously mentioned, I didn't know how to convince Eric to get these for me - seems that all it takes is a Piperlime sale, 9 months of pregnancy and 30 hours of labor. For Mother's Day, Eric got me this(well, it is on its way):I went back and forth on what to get with Logan's birthstone. I really didn't want another diamond ring. Then, I came across these state necklaces here. The one I am getting is in gold, and the diamond will be in the general area of San Francisco. So, not only does it have Logan's birthstone, but his birthplace too! The rest of Mother's Day was pretty uneventful, BUT Logan decided to give me an even better late gift. He slept five hours and then four hours last night - it was heavenly bliss! I love being a mommy and am so grateful for our little baby - Eric's Mother's Day card said it perfectly: "Who needs sleep when you got me?"

3 Weeks

London, who works at Eric's school, took photos of Logan over the weekend. We wanted naked pictures, but unfortunately for us, Logan doesn't really like to be naked. So...we weren't able to get cute, sleepy photos - oh, well. We still love how they turned out!At 2 1/2 weeks, Logan weighed 9lbs, 8 oz and was 21.75 inches long. He is a growing boy! It has been a little rocky with him - he spits up a lot and wakes up screaming after only an hour of sleeping. We started him on reflux medication and got a wedge for his crib. These things seem to be helping, but sometimes we just have to let him cry it out for 5-10 minutes. He is a really good boy during the day - just kind of hangs out. The evenings are a bit rougher - he wants our constant attention! We love that he focuses in on us with his eyes now. He has FINALLY started taking a Binky, but only at certain times. We love the little man, but he sure is a lot of work. I am trying to treasure this newborn stage, but at the same time I can't wait until we can get on a better schedule!

A Few Other Random Photos of Logan

Logan loves to sleep with his mouth wide open like this:He loves belly time, as long as it is on someone's lap!And I think he hates that we keep on insisting he take pictures with Rocco:

Our Snuggly Little Boy

With the rainy, cold weather we have gotten some use out of Logan's warm clothes. He looked like a little eskimo in this number:And he was our cute little monkey for the day in this one:Eric insisted on hanging him upside down and saying "Ooh, Ooh, Ah, Ah." Logan wasn't so keen on the idea:

Our Little Niece...

My brother, Chad and his wife, Ashlie had their little girl on April 29th at 3:30 pm. She was 7 lbs, 4 oz and 20.5 inches long. After a few days they FINALLY named her Berkeley Rae Haak. We think it is kind of funny that both of the grand kids are named after cities! Ashlie had to be induced as well - these Haak babies just didn't want to come on their own (Although, she was much further in her progression so her induction was much SHORTER). We can't wait to meet our niece - I am going out in the beginning of June with Logan to Arizona and then they are coming out for Eric's graduation a week later, YIPPEE!
