Bear Lake in '08

Well a couple of weeks ago we took a little break and went to enjoy the great outdoors. We went camping at Bear Lake ! It was so nice and warm. Todd and I got HOT at night in our tent and that never happens! It was such a nice break.

On the day that we arrived at our destination we decided to take a hike in Minnetonka Cave. It has something like 444 STAIRS to the bottom! This is the reaction that I got after reporting that news.
Are you kidding me? These two can never be serious together!

Our campsite was so much fun and so pretty, but the dirt was SO fine. This picture was taken after only a couple of hours of being there. Nightly scrub downs were in store for this kid!

(SIGH) The beach. Is there any better place in the whole world? Especially this beach. It doesn't get deep for miles. All I had to do was veg in the sun, drink cool beverages and snap photos of one happy child who thought the beach was fabulous.

We talked our husbands into renting this SWEET paddle boat. It was quite entertaining watching the two of them paddle it to our spot together. The little boys took a while to warm up to the idea, but we eventually got a smile out of 'em.
Don't mind the blue wristbands, I was at the height of my nausea and I was willing to do anything to make it better. Even if that means wearing baby blue sweatbands on your wrist!
This is what they did for hours on end. Scooped sand and dumped it. This huge "sandbox" is a little boys dream come true!

Sometimes even the BIG boys need to act like little boys. Does this surprise anyone?

And then all the fun had to come to an end. After many snacks, drinks, toys and boat rides the boy was spent. What a day!

We had so much fun on our mini-vacay! We hope that we can do it all again next year.

Anyway...

We are adding to our cute little family. Our little bean is due March 15th, 2009. We couldn't be happier. Everything looks good so far. Cash insists he is having a "Baby Sister" and he thinks he is going to name her Rosie. I guess we will see, about the sister thing, not the Rosie thing.

Memories...

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
HAVE FUN!

Fun with a Buddy!

It's always an adventure when these two get together. Even though they are 9 months apart, you could never tell. They play so well together! It was fun watching them swim in our backyard. I still can't believe they could stand the frigid temp. of the water! We love summertime!

A campout of our very own

A few weeks ago Todd and I were driving and I mentioned that we should sleep outside in our yard this summer with Cash. We talked about how much he would love it. Well, that night Todd decided we should sleep out! So we put the tent up in the dark and moved in. It was actually really fun (besides the sleepless night because the ground was so hard). Cash slept all night long. Looks like we will be having many more of these adventures in our own backyard.

A couple of weekends ago...

We took a much needed mini-vacation as a family to Salt Lake City. It was a quick getaway packed with fun stuff! While we were there we...

Went to the Hogle Zoo!

And saw "The Ghost of the Bayou!" A white alligator on loan from the Audubon Zoo! It made us miss our family in the Bayou!

Cash's favorite was the Giraffes!

And I got all dizzy while I rode on the Carousel with him.

We took a little train ride around the zoo. It was so fun!

Then we enjoyed some quiet time around this.

We were sad to come home where there isn't anyone to park our car and retrieve it for us when we need it!

Last week I...

Went camping here!

And hiked while I was there!
And had to come home early because there were 3 of these that thought it was pretty fun to be with humans all day (and night)!

Overall it was a great time!
