More of Baby Mazie Gee

Following are photos taken by Mazie's aunt, Kristi-Lynn Gibson, when she came to help out while Kirsten and Mazie were at the hospital. What a great photographer.
(See her blog here: http://kris-innyc.blogspot.com/)

Mazie and Mother came home this afternoon (1/19/11) and are each doing well.

Still Waiting . . .

Baby was due on 1/9. Kirsten thought baby might arrive on 1/11/11 and that would be a cool date. Of course, that date is about to pass. We spent the holidays getting the house and all the baby "stuff" (sure is a lot of it) ready. Brooklyn has enjoyed playing with it in the meantime. Does she know her life is about to change? Umm, not really.
B didn't just want to sit in the infant seat, she wanted to be carried and swung, like . .. a baby. Perhaps she does know all to well what's coming.

4.5 Liters of IV Fluids

Expectant mother caught a nasty bug of some kind and suddenly became ill and severely dehydrated. And so, today we got a free tour and 8-hour stay at the labor & delivery unit while 4,500 ml of fluid were pumped into Kirsten. She's now at home and resting well and preparing . . . for another trip to labor & delivery. Guess it's time to finally pack those hospital bags.

Let it Snow

It snowed, or dusted last night. Brooklyn helped brush off the car and then we took her on a sled ride through the snow to our friends' house where we made six inch snowmen and sipped hot cocoa.

Happy Birthday Kirsten

Ahh . . . French Silk Pie from Baker's Square. Even better with sprinkles. Yummy! (Are you sure she's pregnant and due in two weeks?)

Red Lion Railroaders

For Family Night we took Brooklyn to a train display sponsored by volunteers in a nearby town. A few weeks ago we took her to see the holiday lights at Rocky Ridge and her favorite part was watching the trains -- especially Thomas the Tank Engine. Santa got her a small Lego Thomas for Christmas which she took with her to tonight's display . . .
"Choo Choo" and "All aboard" are now uttered frequently in our home.

"When's Santa Coming Back?"

Someone misses Santa already.
Good thing we had snow to play in . . .

July 4th

Brooklyn was excited all week to see the fireworks. As you can see, she loved the military band music, but got a little scared when the cannons and loud fireworks went off.

Elmo!

Daddy knows how much I love "Elbo." So, when he learned that the little furry red monster from Sesame Street would be coming to York's Market Street, he made sure I didn't miss out. Daddy left work a few minutes early, picked me up at daycare and said he had an Elmo surprise for me. "Elbo! . . . Elbo!" I yelled repeatedly from my car seat during what to Dad seemed like a long drive. (Hey - what can I say, I'm not even two. I get excited.) Was it worth it?

You bet! (Thanks, PNC Bank).

While at the street festival, I visited York Symphony's musical "petting zoo." I'm quite the drummer.

On the way home, Daddy and I shared a hot dog and lemonade on a downtown park bench before stopping at the library to see the fish.

First Time Sledding

Tonight for family night, we took Brooklyn sledding on the hill behind our place. The snow was perfect. She loved it, of course, and at the end of the runs down the hill would say "more" or turn toward the camera and say, "cheese."

Little Girl

Sometimes it seems like our little baby has skipped the "early toddler" phase and moved right on to "little girl." Here she is coming out of hiding with a "treat" - another recent new word.

Snowed in (again)

It is a white Valentine's week here in York. These photos are from the storm last weekend. (Yes, there is a camry under that snow drift).

Add to those snow piles at least and additional 12" that fell last night and this morning. Oh, and its still snowing. Kyle is off work because of a snow emergency and B's day care is closed so they're enjoying another day together, though B still isn't feeling well. Kirsten however was not so lucky. She left for Harrisburg at 6am this morning in the middle of the storm for another 30-hour shift. Luckily she made it there safely (thanks, Toyota and the PennDOT snow plowers).

Christmas in New York

We took the train to New York City on Christmas Eve to spend Christmas weekend with cousin Sadie. We had lots and lots of fun.
First we hung the stockings by the front door with care . . .
then we got caught eating the cookies and carrots we put out for Santa and his reindeer.

I was so excited to see all the presents on Christmas morning and loved ripping off the wrapping paper.
We ended the day with a walk to the East River.

Snow Snow Snow

I was so excited to see lots of snow on the ground when I awoke this morning. I lined up my chairs in front of the window so Teddy, Mickey, Minnie, and I could watch the falling snow. Then, I decided I wanted to go out and play. I had so much fun last time it snowed, I wanted to go out again. Mommy and Daddy weren't ready yet, so I took business into my own hands and tried to put on my own shoes and hat. Daddy and Mommy decided to help me and we went out to play.
The snow was so much fun, I loved it, even though I couldn't walk too well since the snow was past my knees.
I helped daddy shovel, then I decided I was too cold. After lunch I got bundled up in my sweats and took a nice, long nap. What a good day!
There is a hill just behind our apartment and Daddy has wanted to take me sledding since last Winter. I got him sick this week so he wasn't able to buy me a sled, but to my surprise, my family's good friends heard the tragedy and brought us a toddler sled to use. I can't wait to go sledding! Check back later for photos. (Oh, and it's still snowing.)
