Focus

We always have a family night with prayer and activities on Monday night. This Monday was like every other, hard to settle the kids down to get started. Brandon had asked Anna to give our opening prayer when we were done with our song. She started, but was wiggling and stopping and starting. Brandon said, "Anna, take a big breath and start over. Just focus on what you are saying. Okay? Focus." Evan pipes up, saying, "Okay, Focus. Speed, I am Speed. One winner, 42 losers. I eat losers for breakfast. Ready? Oh, yeah, Lightnings ready!" For any of you who might not have it memorized, this is how the movie 'Cars' starts, almost exactly. Needless to say, the kids were no longer settled. We were all cracking up and Evan had the cutest little half smile as he finished. I wish I could of gotten it on tape, but I did get a few pictures of how wonderful the snack was. Doesn't it just make your mouth water? -Pam

Added the other blog

My sister asked me about the other blog that I said I was going to do. I told her I would get to it soon and I finally did. We had a really fun time this weekend with lots of family. On Saturday we had my family and Brandon's over for his birthday party. On Sunday we went to church with the Kirkwood's so we could spend more time at their house that afternoon. Jeff and Lesha stayed the night at their house, so we wanted to be able to see them a little more while they were down this way. Sunday night, we went back to church for Riley's "It's great to be 8" activity where he could learn all of the stuff he will want to know for his baptism in May. I can't believe he is so close to turning 8! -Pam-

Shadows

I hadn't even realized that it was Groundhogs Day until someone on the news said the hog had seen his shadow and there will be 6 more weeks of winter. It made me think of some other shadows I wish that I didn't see, the one's under my eyes. Brandon and I just can't get into a good routine of getting to bed on time. Brandon has a test this week, so I'm sure he will be up late studying and I just can't go to bed until he is ready to. I'll have to work on that. I've been spending time looking through all of my gardening books. I wish spring was here so I could get out and get planting. But my hopes for an early spring are busted. I so dislike the winter.
