A for Andersons and B for Brady's!!

We sure do love to spend time with friends! Especially when we get to feast on yummy sushi rolls at Riptide! It's one of our favorites, and here are some of our favorites too!
Can you believe all three of the boys dressed the same for the night? I mean, how often does that really happen. I asked Kirk, did you coordinate that with Evan and David and he was like, "totally, no way!" and I was like, "babe, you are turning so OC!"
Speaking of so OC, check out this "OC Home Staging" truck that we saw on our way out. Being in such a rural and jungle like area, it's a good thing this camouflaged car is not seen by other passerby's. It really blends in to its surroundings.
Basically, we enjoyed a super fun night with super rad people. I am so glad that we have cool friends and not lame ones. They make us laugh and smile.
p.s. We will also be implementing a new FHE Monday night extravaganza at our casa. If you would like to come or be on our mailer for times and details, let me know! We like to party and we like to share our love of parties with others! TTFN

How do YOU carve a pumpkin?

General Contractor Pumpkin Carving 101:
When tools are available use them.
Use power tools in well light, secured working areas.
NEVER attempt if unskilled at using a Sawsall.
Always wear protective gear and gloves, and eye protectors..
AND THEN HAVE AT IT!!
So I ask Kirk the other night while we are carving pumpkins with Matt and Brette, "Are we cheating at this whole pumpkin carving thing since we are using your Sawsall?"
Kirk's reply, "Of course not. We are taking care of business in the most efficient manner."
And no fingers were lost in quickly carving our pumpkins, so that was really good too.
Matt and Brette got the cutest little puppy this last week and brought her over to play with our dog! Dakota and Hobbs are new best friends and enjoying watching us carve pumpkins, eat yummy desserts and hang out for FHE.
*Please note* We did not intend to have our dog match our floors so well, but in case of an invasion from a predator or some large animal, we have taught Hobbs to just stay laying on the floor and camouflage into his surroundings.
Using our new kitchen is so fun! And we love our big oven and stove that does a great job toasting our cinnamon and sugar pumpkin seeds. Brette makes a great Betty Crocker:)
Happy Halloween to all of you!
Love the Schillings.. and the Wares:)

We're almost there Master Bathroom!!

This picture has nothing to do with a master bathroom, but I had to post a picture of how Hobbs likes to fall asleep. This little guy is the closest thing I have to a baby right now and I love him like one. He makes me laugh constantly and is the best lil' companion in the world!
Ok, the HOUSE. We are 92% done guys! Our master bedroom has been painted, the floors are finished and we can start moving furniture in there this week!
The bathroom also has been painted and the tile work is complete. Just waiting for our counters and fixtures to be installed. Kirk spent most of yesterday designing our closet which should be in by the end of this week:)
Here are some photos of what we have going on.
Walk-in shower with dual sinks. We need to get the glass in still.
The bathtub with turquoise glass tiles. I plan on spending a lot of time here;)
It's kinda hard to see now, but this will by my vanity (hair and make-up station as Kirk calls it). Also we have shelves and then the toilet area to the right.
Not a very good picture of the Master, it will look a lot better when the lights and furniture are in! Kirk and I know how to sand and stain floors now, so if anyone needs any help with that let me know!

Recent Fun Times

I can't believe the summer is already zipping by me. I have to say this summer felt much shorter than normal with our busy schedules. Now that I am working full time in an office with no summer break with teaching, summer just isn't the same. Also, we have been up to our eyeballs with this house renovation. We are having fun creating our dream home, however very excited to be done and live in an completed house! Here are some of the activities we have been able to do lately!
Happy birthday Jenni! Let's see, all but one of these ladies work at Beachfire. It's been almost a year now since I put down my cocktail tray and committed to a normal "day job," but I do miss the quick cash in my pocket and seeing these girls all the time.
My good girlfriend Liz is going to be having a baby here any day! A few weeks ago we celebrated her and her new baby with a fun shower full of all the laughs and games that a good shower would have.
I love this action shot of me sniffing the "Poopy Diaper Game." Fun as it is, it is still disturbing to stick your nose in a seemingly dirty diaper. Some of the girls couldn't play because they were seriously gagging. Too much.
Then there are the married gals. We hit up Laguna Beach for a fun night at a new restaurant, window shopping and gelato with the Asays and the Wares.
Not only do I love Brittany's "lunch lady" beret (I don't think so) but I am loving this cute couch they had at the Hurley store in LB. It gets me so excited to start decorating our place once we finish the house. Now, if only I could win the lottery so we could afford to furnish our place.. sigh... One step at a time:)
On a side note, went to the spectrum with the Brady's and Andersons Saturday- didn't get any pictures but had a blast eating at the Counter in Irvine and watching "Couple's Retreat." Good times and Good bye for now!

Worth putting on this blog!!

As many of your know, I am doing Real Estate and have started a real estate blog. But this piece of information is so valuable that it needs to go on my general blog.

Interest rates have dipped even further folks! For the week of October 1st, rates are now at 4.62% !! That is for a Conventional, Cal-Vet or FHA loan. This rate won't last for long and with that $8,000 tax credit til December 1st???- Don't wait people! If you have been thinking about buying, now's the time!

Did I mention that even the bottom dwelling investors are out snatching properties? I am seeing it everyday. If you think you are going to catch the absolute bottom by waiting, just wait til the prices start coming up and then you think "Gee, wish I would've acted a little sooner."

Give me a call. I'll buy you that house and I give KILLER house warming gifts:)
