Anything But A Card at Cardz 4 Guyz
It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week we want to see Anything But A Card with a masculine theme
I had a couple of ideas for this and then a week or so ago I went to a card class at Tulip Crafts in Ringwood. It's a lovely little shop right on the market place and the class it very small and friendly. This was my first week there and I'd seen the little watering cans that had been made previously and was so pleased when this is what we made. It was a printed template so all cut by hand as you can tell (apart from the circles for the spout). The sample was flower based but I knew I wanted to make it for OH's birthday so decided to to do a vegetable theme and finish it off at home. Unfortunately other events have meant that I couldn't make the 3D veggies I wanted to put on top so a quick solution was not to put the top on and fill it with mini chocolates. For the decoration I've used a pack of garden ties and a garden label with a birthday greeting on. When I make it again I'll it the silver card on the spout through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder
I'm also entering this into Miriam's Crafting Challenge which is Containers
We'd love to see what you come up with but please make sure it is masculine

Butterfly Spots & Stripes
I really didn't think I'd get the chance to play along at the Butterfly Challenge this time as I've been staying in Southampton away from most of my craft stuff but I went into the Craft Gallery in town and bought the Wild Rose Studio Butterfly Glade paper pack and some 3d butterflies and had a play one evening
The theme this time is Spots and Stripes and there just happened to be a paper in the pad with stripes of patterned paper so all I added was the spotty ribbon. The die cuts were in my limited stash there so I can't remember what dies they were cut with but this is the card I came up with
I'm sure you'll see a lot more of these papers on my Butterfly Challenge cards as they are gorgeous

Patriotic Colours for the Technique Twist
The challenge this last fortnight at The Technique Twist has been patriotic colours. I've not had a lot of time in my craft room and nearly missed this challenge so I needed something quick and simple. I found a sheet of sentiments and captions by Buzzcraft in my stash which I've had for yonks so I've used one of those and then found this sketch at Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge and thought it would be perfect
The splodges are stamped with a stamp from Stampin Up's Gorgeous Grunge set so a very simple card

One Layer Card for The Butterfly Challenge
It's the 10th challenge at the Butterfly Challenge and this time Mrs A wants to see one layer only. I'm never really sure as to what constitutes a layer - do embellishment count? Does a sentiment have to be stamped straight onto a card? But then again is the ink another layer? I suppose it's all down to interpretation so I've gone really minimal for my card. I wanted to have some "movement on it so I've used my X-Cut butterfly punch which leaves the butterfly still attached. I've coloured it with Picked Raspberry distress ink and stamped the Stampin Up sentiment with the same ink. It's still a relatively new ink pad but it's so juicy, I had to stamp twice on scrap before stamping on the card. I've hand drawn the border with a fine nib pen. I did think of embossing it with the Swiss Dots folder but decided that would ruin it so I've left it really CAS

Ruffled Flower
I just love this Hero Arts Ruffled Flower stamp. It makes a great background as well as a main image. I thought of it as soon as I saw that the challenge at The Technique Twist was 3D Paper Piecing. I think an image would have been more true to the technique but tome was short so this didn't really need too much thinking about. My twist is that I've stamped on vellum rather that paper. The white embossing really stands out against the bright pink vellum

New Baby Boy at Cardz 4 Guyz
It's Tuesday so we have a new challenge for you here at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week we're looking for your New Baby creations
For my card I've used a Forever Friends decoupage and backing paper with a Marianne Design Baby die cut. I don't often do decoupage but I'm pleased how this turned out. Some pearl gems and ribbon from my stash finish this very simple card
Now let us see what you come up with for a New Baby Boy
