Fourth of July Parade 2012
A little excited to take my kids to the 4th of July parade for a few reasons. The Killpack's usually have a family reunion on this weekend where we go camping at Ferron Reservior, but, since we had moved and all of our camping things were in storage, James decided to not go this year. And since we were back in Cedar, and this town does a lot for holidays such as this one, we decided to take the kids to the parade on Main Street.

It was truly hot, though not as hot as St. George gets. I persuaded my family to come up and be with us, at the parade. They look thrilled:

Hot and thrilled, I might add, but we had good time, and the kids loved seeing their grandparents and Uncle Kirk there too.

We got there a bit later than everyone, and had to be on the sun side of the street. I actually did not mind a bit. My kids were able to sit at the curb, and run around. I was actually really conscious of my little Audrey who I had started potty training on the 19th of June. She had the hang of it, but still had to be in close proximity to the bathroom. She looked adorable in those little pigtails, I must say.

Grant and Audrey actually did pretty well at the parade, but things got better when the balloon guy came around selling balloons for a dollar.
We had a Happy Fourth of July!

Fun at the Pink House
It was kind of funny moving from Casper to Cedar City in that we were not going to be moving right in to a new house. I felt bad about this, but really tried to play up our new adventure in our rental house as sort of an adventure. I really played up the color of the house, and how "cute" everything was on the inside.
It totally worked. My kids absolutely fell in love with the pink house. I don't know if they were as thrilled to be out of Wyoming as I was, or if they really thought that the Pink House was fun, I honestly
don't know. Here are some pics of those days back in the Summer of 2012, when moving to Cedar was brand new:

-I must have really worked up the charm of this house with the kids. They absolutely loved the back yard. Even with this old and faded swing with a big rip in it, was a favorite place for them to be. In case I have been too vague, the Pink House was actually a bit of a dump, to put it nicely. But we made the most of it, and had some good memories there!

I guess this just goes to show that no matter what the situation is, just as long as we are together as a family, any situation can be fun.

Special Time With Audrey
During the summer, Grant had preschool two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11. That means that I got to spend two whole hours with just my Audrey while was Grant was gone. It was fun just to have that alone time with her. I took Audrey to the library (where she lasted five minutes), but most of the time I took her to the park to play. She likes it when I try to grab her toes while she is swinging, and how I hurry to grab her when she just comes down off the slide. A few times we went to Discovery Park here in town. She was also my company in the grocery store, where she could just ride happily while eating her Goldfish crackers.

Most of all, I love just cuddling with that cute lil' face. I love the time I get to spend with just my Auders!

Another Play Park
One weekend at the end of June, we headed up to Lindon to attend our niece Kate's baptism. I think James got to see most of it, as I was herding our noisy children out in the hallway, and taking them for walks outside. They did show a movie as we were waiting to for Kate to be confirmed, and they tuned into that, but otherwise they were pretty much on the go the whole time.

Afterward, we had lunch at a nearby park, where the kids played pretty much played the whole time, and ate very little. Who wants to eat when there is a play park to conquer?

Grandma Shauna was extra patient with Grant, and took him on a walk so James and I could eat. He is very active, and loved to explore. He can hardly sit down for two minutes without having to get up and be on the move again.

My attempt at those tunnel pictures everyone does. I think I need a little practice capturing the moment, and I think my kids need a little practice cooperating. So much more fun to just run through the tunnel than to hold on to Dad's hand and walk through.

I love how anything and everything can be something to play with. grant loved to sit on this stump, climb on it, run around it, everything.

Cedar Breaks
We love being back in Utah so we can take advantage of all the wonderful things that Cedar has to offer. One of those things is Cedar Breaks, which is about 24 miles from where we live. anxious to get out of out current living conditions, James and I packed up the kids early on A Saturday morning, and decided to take a picnic lunch with us up to Cedar Breaks. so we did. We had a lot of fun! It was a good call. the kids were surprisingly good on the trip. Probably after having been in the car for so many trips, they do pretty well.

I love that I have to hold Grant and Audrey is patiently waiting by my side. funny how different their personalities are.

We found a picnic up there and had lunch and let the kids play. So fun!

My Audrey had lots fun running around everywhere up there.

Never gets old looking at lil ones up on James' shoulders.

After our fun up on Cedar Breaks, we went home the scenic route (by Panguitch Lake), and when we got to Parowan, they were having a car show, with all sorts of fun things for the kids. Since we didn't want to go back quite yet, we stopped and let the kids play. They had a ball!

A little warm this day. My Audrey does not take to heat too well. I would also like to add, that we got our fussy Audrey into another car seat, so she can't fuss with the harness anymore.

Easter 2012

We planned an impromptu trip to St. George, since we sold our house in Casper. We had lots of fun in the warm weather and my parents planned an Easter egg hunt for them.

They were so excited and it was so much more fun then the Easter egg hunts they do in Casper, where all the eggs are gone in a matter of seconds.

Grant's big thing these days is giving hugs to whomever we ask him to give one. (Which, I must say, that I do ask for more than my fair share.) He will give Audrey hugs on demand, and sometimes, whether she likes it or not. Most of the time, she does like it though!

We loved having Easter with my family, instead of the usual happenings which is just. Our little family doing an Easter egg hunt around the house, because it is too cold in Casper. Love southern Utah!
