There are connections between Alfred Hitchcock and Dario Argento. These two posters speak for themselves (on top of that I think the Profondo Rosso artwork is simply stunning - even better than the one it was inspired by).

Another connection was the directors' shared taste for making appearances in their own films.
And of course an incredible talent for dramatising violence in a very graphic manner.
