Winter Wonderland 2011

We had a huge snowstorm that rolled in the night before Margot's birthday.  Thankfully, we had a family gathering that day so everyone was home safely before the snow came in.

 We got 6 inches!
 Our backyard
We played inside and Margot let me do her hair.  She was very excited about her hair-do.
 The kids playing outside.
Katya is eating the icy top layer that formed the 2nd night.  Her ice pancake.  We attempted a snowman, but it was pretty pathetic.  We had to remove this top layer of ice to even get down to the good snow.
 Hi!
 Jack is playing dead.
 Ahhh!
 Katya goofing off...
 and looking pretty...
Margot loved eating the snow!

We had such a wonderful time.  I was off for 4 days and the kids were out of school all week.  We moved furniture around and cleaned the whole house and played outside and inside and watched movies and played games.  It was like Christmas vacation!  It was so nice to spend so much time together.  I started back at the hospital full time again instead of the office where I was working Mon-Fri and then Sat at the hospital.  It is soooooo nice to only have to work 3 days a week now instead of 6.  I am able to do this now because Scott is doing his RN online now, so we don't have to work my schedule around his classes.  Unfortunately, he had to asked to be released as seminary teacher because of my schedule.  He loved teaching and the kids loved him, too.  But just today he was called as the teacher's quorum advisor and varsity scout leader, so he is very excited about that.  This week it's back to school for the kids.  Jack and Margot go to the same preschool.  Jack goes 4 days a week and Margot attends 2 days.  They love it.  Katya had her baptism preview at church tonight.  She was so excited about it.  I am anxious to hear how it went.  She is getting so grown up, but thankfully still loves to hang out with her parents.

Also, I just met our new neighbors tonight at the hospital.  They have their 5th child on the way.  Their oldest is 8, so we are very excited about new playmates.  They seem like a lovely couple.  The husband is active duty army.  He will be instructing at the ranger camp in town.  They are going to church just across the street from our church.  She is due in 4 weeks!

Margot is 2!!!

We enjoyed having Mildenhall and Perry family over for Margot's second birthday just before the snowstorm came in.  Here she is blowing out candles...
 She did it!  Gimme five!
 Does she like it?  Yes!
 Opening presents
Jack is trying on Margot's new tutu...and posing.
The kids enjoyed wrestling with Uncle Taylor.
 Margot gets a chance.

 Sweet big sister Katya
Awww!

We're Back!!! Merry Christmas

Jack was a great camel for the nativity play at the preschool Christmas program!
Jack is so excited about Santa this year!  Katya is very tolerant of Santa's "helpers" and is being a good big sister by not telling Jack that this isn't the "real" Santa.
We spent most of Christmas at the Perry's this year.  I love this picture of Katya conversing with Santa.
Jack was so excited about Santa that he was burying his face in his beard:)
I wish I were this excited about Polly Pockets...
 Cutie Pie!
Love seeing the reading of books...Jack loves Dr. Seuss!
Wish I looked this cute first thing in the morning;)!
 The girls
