A Collector's Dream

We are very lucky to have Pierre and Andrée as our neighbours. Miles and Savannah love playing and helping out in their huge garden and I love looking at all the bits and pieces they have accumulated over the years.

Bods from Blocks

I'm a big fan of Swedish illustrator Ingela Arrhenius' work and I've really enjoyed following her wood block project these past few months. It all started with this little chappie last July

and ever since, Ingela has been busy putting ideas on paper, penciling in and painting

It's taken Ingela almost a year to complete her one hundred-strong collection of wood folk, who were revealed to the world this weekend. She's now planning on making a book for all those unable to attend the exhibition and even has a few block bods left if you're interested.

Can't wait to see what's coming next!

Collections

Dusty rose pink 19th Century paperback books

Appley Hoare Antiques is one of my favourite places on the web. I love virtually everything in this shop, it's where I go to dream and seek inspiration, although it's way out of my league financially. Appley and Zoe sell some wonderful small items and accessories, and I often pop in to see if there's anything of interest. Look what I found yesterday - three beautiful framed prints from an old Paris art supplies catalogue circa 1900... if only...

I love collections, as you know. If you're interested, artist/illustrator Lisa Congdon has started an excellent 365 project over here. She will be presenting a photo, a drawing or a painting of a real or an imaginary collection every day this year, starting with these vintage rubbers

I'll definitely be following, what about you?
